I’ve got an Ibis HD, before that had an Ibis SL.. No I didn’t pay full price for either of them but would I have – yes..

As someone mentioned above, if Ibis can sell a bike at £8k or $8k, then fair play to them – if it means they stay producing bikes for another 5-10 years then how can that be viewed as a bad thing? If they didn’t sell them they’d drop the price.

As for the price it self, when I bought mine I was lucky enough to be in a position to buy one, just receiving a decent sized bonus from work.. I’ve loved Ibis bikes since the early 90’s, never ever dreamt of actually owning one.

Say its $8k = £5,111 or thereabouts, is it overpriced to most people – maybe, probably – is it overpriced to those who have the disposable income, for something which is still a very good bike, no.. And thats how things go. Yes, you could buy 2 or 3 Capra’s for that, I could’ve bought 2 for what I paid for my HD, but I didn’t want a YT, I wanted an Ibis – because I’d always wanted one as a kid…

Finally, yes you can build one yourself much cheaper – I did, but I had the time, effort and knowledge and like lots here enjoy creating my own personal toy.. Others are not in our position where they do not have the time to hunt around and spend hours reviewing parts etc.. But they still love mountain biking.. Surely that’s what matters?

I rode La Varda last week as well. Saw quite a few walkers at the lake, but beyond there probably 8 in total – we always made sure we stopped and gave them right of way and had no problems, other than 1 person saying that we should probably be careful as we might potentially not be allowed on that path, he was very friendly about it.

Shame though – hope something gets sorted.

Seems like a good opportunity for some narcism… :D

In DH mode – 160 rear 180 front.. Bit of a handful on anything that is down..

In normal everyday mode – 160 front and rear.. Absolutely love it!

Take a Mojo HD every year. Borrowed a mates Demo last year for a day, not anywhere near as much fun.

Kaylee… Jewel Staite – she is very cute…

Agree with most comments – watched the film, fell asleep half way through – watched the series, loved it, watched the film again and loved it!

    SRAM Guide RSC..

    Had XT’s, Elixir’s, Zee’s..

Guides beat them all in terms of power vs weight vs feel..

Agreed, spent 3 weeks out there this time last year, visiting the girlfriends sister. ON a good day the temp was only about 33 degrees… Regularly it went over 40.. Just walking to the shops was an effort. I thought about taking the bike but decided against it as Emirates wanted £800 return to take it!

Are there any around at the moment? I’m on the verge of buying some new brakes – if there were any codes then it’ll help my thought process :)

Just to add that I’ve had to contact Easton in the US in the past and they were very helpful – they got some hub adapters for my havoc’s quicker than Zyro could. I’ve since contacted Silverfish and they are also very helpful..

I’ve been running Havocs for about a year, I have the bearing kit to fit but don’t need to yet..
Easton US are very good with questions, so far I’ve changed mine from 9×135 to maxle rear (for my new frame) and now I’m just waiting on the parts to convert 20mm to 15mm (yes you can convert them) so that I can run Pikes.

    Very happy with them!

I got a Conti Baron 2.3 to match my HD on the front – in black chilli its a brilliant tyre, rolls well and grips amazingly well… I can’t get a 2.35 in the back of my Mojo SL but this is perfect.

There’s plenty of mountain biking in Jersey, you’re not looking in the right places.

If you want shitty northern seaside town go to Jersey,

    Complete crap…

Hembury through to RDCP? Used to be one of my favourite areas.

Used to be better before it was Big Peaks, when it was the Mountain Bike Centre.

They have the wheel now so can’t test it in another bike, however I have just spoken to them – they agree it is faulty but they can’t do anything until Monday when Neil is back in… Apparently none of them have the authority to replace it either… Wonder how they manage to breathe…

Either way its the last time I’ll ever buy anything from them again – parts get faults – thats life, but crap CS is not acceptable in any economy, especially the one we are currently in..

Definitely not the maxle – as I said its absolutely fine with the Hope in front.

Would I be unreasonable in asking for a replacement wheel as they have admitted there is a fault and they are unable to repair it?

Big peaks bike shop in ashburton do organised rides on Thursday evenings I understand. RDCP has Hembury Woods to the side of it – if you can find the Fort there is a nice little downhill we called the Slalom that snakes down to the river, although I’m not sure on the legalities…

Echo above – I’ve got some on Crests – ordered with 15mm front and QR rear, have since upgraded to 20mm front and 10mm thru rear – easy as..

Re forks – I’ve just bought some 2012 Sektors to increase the travel over my X-Fusion Velvets – I’ve always preferred coils to air but both are very nice – in terms of plushness they feel almost the same… I wanted more travel and travel adjust (otherwise I probably would’ve stayed with the velvets).

    God damned auto-correct!!!

I did indeed mean squinting…!

I’ve got some in my Jawbones – they don’t go quite dark enough for really bright days but at the sametime I haven’t found myself squatting.. If it is a really bright day and I won’t be in woods etc then I use some darker lenses that are almost exactly the same as Iridiums – polarised as well – which I got from the US on ebay for £30. Otherwise the photochromic tick every box.

Not the best but its an action shot…

I think its a great helmet as it stops my face getting attacked by branches etc!

I emailed MET at the beginning of the year – there’s been no updates apart from colour from last years to this year..
