The Kenevo SL – I (well my wife) have one, but now I’m looking at that picture I can’t tell you!! 😂

I’ve had 36 Grip, Grip2 Lyrik Ultimate, all with Secus or Luftkappes or both.. I’ve got RXF36 M.2s now. Ohlins are fantastic. Yes they do need to be setup correctly, including the tune, but if you’re buying them from a proper Suspension tuner they will do that for you. The other amazing thing with the Ohlins is you can chop and change between air and coil without any issue – the air spring is self contained, so is not dependent on the inside of the stanchion not being damaged by the coil…

Cheers for that Stevo – We were going to ride it this year but we’ll give it a miss now.

(Also, pretty sure you taught my wife to Snowboard a couple of years ago.. Carol-Ann!)

When are you going? I’m going over on 6th August, so probably after you. Otherwise I know a couple of locals who may be able to find out..

Vanoise wasn’t running last year – is this year. Cost is €15 for a one day add-on. Had this confirmed by Paisley Villandry tourism last week.

Renthal 32 has a decent rise of its size/shape. Not as big as the DMR but something to look at.

Kind of.. Planning has been passed for the Overdale site, but its still being argued. We’ve got elections next week so no doubt that’ll be cause for another delay!

If you ask me, they’ve already got someone for the job, just advertising it to fulfil political requirements…

Yes, as a general rule to work in Jersey you need to have 5 years residency for most jobs – you can get exemptions if you can prove there is no-one on the island who is able to do the role. This has already been advertised locally and attracted a lot of queries, but no-one qualified…..

Do we need to have such a role? I don’t think so, there are far more important things that need to get resolved first (if want a laugh, google Jersey new hospital – couldn’t make this up!)

We unfortunately have a history of recruiting “experts” from the UK, who get paid a fortune, make a total mess of it, then get given a golden handshake after 3-4 years (Look up Charlie Parker – CEO).

Still, our cliff paths are awesome for single track and we’ve got some sweet small woods for such a tiny place.

Check out the review on Beta – one of the guys goes into some depth about fit.

Yep. I’m one of those people who left a review on Spesh’s site.

I’ve since bought another pair.. turns out there’s a knack to the new ones, you tighten as much as you need to the lower boa, the upper one doesn’t need to be anywhere as tight. Much more comfortable now – they are a great pair of shoes, stiff, light and comfortable (now).

Give them a go – Spesh CS is amazing and let me return mine via Tredz after I’d been riding them for 4 weeks.

I’ve just heard from someone down there who went in and asked, that the funi is out this year, but not the Transarc. The whole transarc is going to be replaced but not until next year…..

    philstone

The whole Transarc? Or just the bottom.. If its just the bottom I wonder if Charmettoger will be used instead – if its the whole Transarc then what will they do about 2600 access?

Hopefully the trans arc isn’t shut… Funi being shut will be bad enough.

@Jameso – Thanks – an actual answer to the question I’d asked as opposed to views on morals without the full story (which was irrelevant to the original question..)

Ok, this was cleared by the manufacturer – they’ve credited the store and the store we’re happy to do so. The store hasn’t lost out. It’s an updated shoe design that has numerous complaints now about fit.

No-one is likely to hear it, BUT the scrotes doing the stealing which may make them decide to leg it before getting everything… Camera might also get some decent footage of them and perhaps a conviction..

Why don’t these places have security camera with motion detection? All it needs is power and an internet connection. Although it may take time for police to arrive it should be easy enough to hook up to an alarm.

Interestingly my Evil Wrecker came with a Super Deluxe coil which I now run with a TTX Air, massively impressed with the air shock, but I do wonder about the TTX coil.. The bike was designed to run a coil so I’m sure it will be an eventuality, its just a question of whether to get the SD tuned, or go for the TTX. Be very interested to hear your thoughts. What bike are you on?
    Cheers

    ^get this. End of thread

This. Got a Trail Evo and the light spread is far superior to my Exposure Maxx D. Does it blind anyone looking into it? No. Am I faster with it than the Exposure? Yes.

I had a RipMo v1 and this exact same thing happened to me. Also happened on my HD3 and my HD, so yes it is an old issue that Ibis don’t seem to want to resolve once and for all.

I’ve also had issues with support from 2Pure. Based in the Channel Islands, they won’t deliver direct to me, recommend I go to my local store instead (fair enough) except they then tell my local store they won’t ship to Jersey. I wouldn’t buy another Ibis again until there is a different UK supplier.

Joystick make some of the nicest stems I’ve ever had, but you cannot get them in the UK (or Europe..) if you go on their website they’re looking for a European disti.

I’ve got one as well. Its not fitted to my bike which pretty much says it all as I think its a very nice subtle stem. Mine creaked like mad and as you say was an absolute nightmare trying to get torqued up and stay tight. Careful though – stem choice is a slippy slope. I now have choices of Renthal, Burgtec and OneUp. Finding the perfect stem has turned into an obsession.

So one of my friends contacted Hope yesterday about cassettes as he’s got one as well. they said that they’ve stopped making it and have no intention of producing any more batches at all. Pretty poor for what has always been regarded as one of the best companies for support old products. When he asked about a discount on a Shimano or SRAM driver in replacement they told him no chance..!

He’s been spotted a number of years ago on an Ibis Ripley..

Check axle to crown heights of your current and new forks. Lyrik forks are longer than Fox 36, so a 160 Lyrik is only slightly shorter than a 170 fox. I expect Pikes would be similar.

Is there any truth to the rimpact sticht that you have to put an insert in both tyres or you ruin handling?

I’ve been running one in just the rear for around 18 months. Bike hasn’t tried to kill me yet.

There probably is, but I doubt most of us would ever notice..

Got an A3 and it’s much less mushroomy than the A2, just as another option.

To add some balance – I’ve got tubolito, had to use it – had no issues at all – got me home when I killed a Dissector rear tyre without any issues at all.

Only problem I have is that there is no way in hell you can fold it back up to the nice small shape it comes in.

They do list the sizes on the website. I’ve just replaced mine with some from Kinetic, but not massively impressed – did some cleaning the other day and noticed they’d started to get notch after only a couple of months, could be a one-off, but will probably stick to Evil’s in the future.

I contacted them last night, they replied this morning that its an issue with their new site and should be resolved today/tomorrow. Shouldn’t be any problems with existing orders.

Best for power – Trickstuff Power 840. Don’t last an amazingly long time (1 week of Alps duty) but by far the most powerful. Even compared to UberBike Race Matrix.

I had a V1. I’m around the same height and had a Large. The cable routing was fine, cant remember what I did but it wasn’t an issue. Only reason I sold it is I came from an Evil Insurgent and just couldn’t get the shock to be as plush and supportive as the Insurgent, but that was down to the V1 kinematic which have been addressed with the V2. Trickstuff are indeed excellent, but expensive and don’t last long.

I’d stay away from the thicker race matrix, for some reason they seem louder than the standard ones on my Code RSCs.

Trying to nail who is the Alfa of the bike world is pretty tricky.
    Flawed but interesting.
    Desirable but risky.
    Have flare.

Pace – RC200 – must tick every once of those..
