I love Fives but there just a bit expensive. You can get just as good a bike for half the money. When I replaced my Five I bought a Rocky mountain altitude for 1700. Look at cube, mondraker, lapierre etc. You can get a specialized Camber for 1200 now

i ran the 2.35 am/4x over the summer and it isn’t that big but it was shite in the wet.

I rode this months pen y ghent route on Saturday, it was ok but the route discription is laughable. Point 1 to 2 is 3 lines and covers 3km, point 2 to 3 is 3 lines and covers 13km. Makes it confusing.

What about a proper bar mount?

Yep happened to mine, lifting the seals is no good, remove the lowers and clean regular.

I’m currently waiting to see if I get anywhere with superstar regarding a cracked freehub. It cracked under all 3 pawls. Other than that they have been good wheels.

They slate the altitude too, saying you can’t run 2.2 rubber queens due clearance issues but I have them on mine. Also slated for bit having the “latest” advancements. First time I have bought MBR in a while and it will be the last.

Just a follow up. I ended up getting the 2.2 rubber queens, non black chilli and I’m impressed.. £16 each is a good price, i can’t imagine the black chilli being 3 times better to justify the price.

Wouldn’t say “dime bar” just followed a guide online as i never had any instructions with the bike.

There are quite a few videos and write ups of it being done without removing the lowers. Never thought there could be so much unseen damage, Lesson learned.

Getting advice on hebden is like pulling teeth. I just get a OS map and ride what you find.

i rode from blackstone res to windy hill and back up the pennine way over blackstone edge. the walkers i spoke to where really friendly but just wondered if anyone had any local knowledge.

where the bridleway comes out at Marsden, is down on the OS map as Stanage edge, its near the stanage canal tunnel.

i have 1×9 36t front ring and 11-36 cassette and i ride anywhere.

I didn’t use a spacer when fitting mine but I would try and use a 0.5 mm spacer between the crank and stinger
