I am taking the van over so space is not an issue. If I take all the MTB’s then I can’t see the wife and kids bothering much. I have a charity ride in September so need to fit a few miles in somewhere. Sounds like the road will be less hassle and enjoyable. Thanks for the suggestions.

Started with Williams Extra Dry then Hendricks. I cant see how much Hendricks is left so unsure when to stop……

I have been advised to have hem assessed at a bike shop so will let hem take a look.

Appreciate the advise and wit :-)

    was a tea light involved?

Sorry, no tea lights were involved. No idea why you ask but I guess there must be a valid or funny reason. I have yet to see the funny side myself as I sift through the ashes.

Insurance is paying out on all things damaged, I am not sure if my bikes are.

I guess I should of stored the bikes in the bath and made sure I included “fibre” in my question sorry. Thankfully spell check ensures I don’t make too many mistakes there but grammar can slip through :P

Thanks for the more valid answers, guess I will just follow the insurance assessors advice rather than a bike forum.

No letter yet, but no email either, so it looks like I’m in as a first timer and up there with the least prepared after barely riding a bike over the last 2-3 years. Great motivation to get in shape, but ramping up from nothing to the Fred Whitton will be a challenge.

Hope it all goes well for you Rich. Maybe get a pub ride in this week?

You could try a WIFE repeater, not something I would like though.

First year without here too. Life goes on but seems a poorer place.

I have read the thread a few times and my sympathy goes out to you and your family. After much deliberation I am struggling with meaningful words but my thoughts are with you. I hope the messages and talking help you through this difficult time.

Could be persuaded if the ride is flat and short. Somewhat unfit for some reason….

Surely they would limit post ride pub visits Rich, were they Sascha’s idea?

Finally found some scales which were for some reason hidden away. Lack of exercise and too much Guinness has taken its toll. Had great success in the STW Fat club years ago so hope to repeat this.

Best: Had a great day when we finally got married in May after quite a long engagement…

Worst: A year from hell watching lung cancer take my Mum, work spiraling downwards and finally the day when it all hit home.

Still here for 2013 and hoping that things will improve. I hope to find time to ride my bike again and catch up with friends. If this involves drinking beer then so be it :)

I wouldn’t worry about an extra 2′ of tarmac. I doubt very much your local council would either. You could always ask them if you want assurance or speak to a local contractor.

I cant see a big hammer, pipe wrench and mole grips. I think that’s your problem.
It’s a while since I had mine in bits so I would trust the pdf more than my memory. I can pop round and assist if needed sometime. They are fairly straightforward though.

Hot air gun has worked for me in the past a few times. More heat than a hair drier, careful you don’t bubble the paint though.

Trailgator[/url] would do. Not perfect but did the job for me.

    edit Didn’t realise I was so slow…..

I bought a Dell colour laser printer for home use, plenty of life left in the toner yet given what I have printed. It has worked out loads cheaper than ink jet for us.

Yes the price is for the complete brake set, send the lot including hose and they will return it all refurbed. Form for service is on their website.

I sent mine back last week, got a call today to say they were ready. £47 (may be £48 as posted, didn’t pay too much attention)total for everything inc. sintered pads. Worth sending them back imo.

I have a conventional BB so it might not be relevant but there is a “wave” washer which fits under the left crankarm which I presume is to take up any slack. Take a look on the FSA website, fitting instructions are on there and it may be your missing that.

Fitted two weeks ago to replace the oil burning stove which was costing a fortune. Stockton 11HB feeding the hot water and radiators, does get through wood quickly.

I recently had this problem, tried GT85 etc. and running without the clamp tight to try and get movement. Tried some Freeze spray too but in the end got it moving and out after warming the frame with a hot air gun with no damage.

I use a caravan water pump with a normal hosepipe and sprayer dropped into a bucket/drum of water. A Whale pump retails at around £35. Works fine for events. The windscreen washer pump kit above would have neither the capacity, flow or pressure to be of use.
    IMHO

Been waiting since last week for my ice tyres from CRC. They have been out for delivery everyday this week but no attempt has been made to deliver despite the roads being clear. The postman never missed a day throughout the 3 weeks of snow and ice and I have had parcel deliveries from other couriers no problem. Not impressed.

Gain for me :( 400g and I thought I'd done well too. Been out on the bike a few times and walked more so maybe just turned the fat to muscle……
