Just phone up and tell them your gonna cancel as its too expensive and not affordable anymore, they’ll bend over backwards to keep you. My dad uses this method to great effect and pretty much tells them what he wants pay!

Yes, you’ll need a Franke 90mm basket strainer waste (plus overflow if necessary). They’re between 14-20 quid.

Don’t get the hard compound,as northwind mentioned, they’re shite, I ripped my tyre on a recent trip to inners and had to get one as it was all that was available, now I’m recovering from a broken shoulder.
That being said, they’re probably alright in the softer compounds.

Either the water isolator isn’t on or the waste may be blocked?

The night class is a good idea, thats what i did and you’ll find most night school students are more interested in learning than grinding the tips of chisels flat!

If you live anywhere with any kind of decent descents then you’ll miss it, i defo missed having one.

I wonder if next years SES will be bringing out a similar FF rule for the full on Enduros while the Enduro Lite series would just need HF given they’d be less technical. That would appease the people saying its making it harder for beginners cos of costs.

    Kneepads are not mandatory?

No, but then everyone wears them anyway and to be fair, most knee injuries wouldn’t be life threatening unlike a facial/head injury which could be.

    ^^ Exactly

If you’re not pushing hard on the descents on a normal ride, what exactly ARE you doing?

I didn’t say i hung around looking at the scenery but in a race i think for most people the red mist comes down to some extent so you will probably push a bit harder, also there are more chance of making mistakes due to

    panicky race head

    as you put it.

Anyone would think wearing a FF is akin to putting your head up Satans Arsehole. 😀

enduro is meant to be like a normal bike ride

But its not. The magazines jumped on board and said wow this is great its “like” riding with your mates, which in some respects it is, but the difference is that you are RACING, therefore you’ll generally be pushing harder than you normally would, you’ll more than likely be going quick enough that you’d probably do yourself some proper damage if you accidentally use your face as a brake.

Watch this from 3 mins to the end. She wouldn’t have been getting up as quick without one.

One bitter little corner of the web pouring scorn on wearing more than spray on hot pants and a pudding basin to race doesn’t matter to the world. Don’t you all have woodpiles to stroke?

    Love it! 😆

I have a pair of Sidi road shoes and to be honest, for me they’re not that comfy, i would imagine the Mtb variants would be similar. I use Mavic Alpine Xl and they are great, really stiff and really comfortable and great for all but the absolute coldest of weather.

EDIT. Plus they’re only about £115 squids and have had two years use and ar still going strong! 🙂

The front tyre is great, tough as old boots, grips like a fat kid holding a chocolate bar, not really draggy as such. Definitely will be replaced by the same. The rear tyre is great in the dry, but gets found out in the damp.
