Stick with a 20 quid Shimano. Not much better for the money.

Do you want vari focal for riding? I don’t know the answer to that.

I do, being able to see where you are going and read a map, see what your garmin says, undertake repairs etc. without changing glasses is a revelation.
I uses a specific pair of glasses for riding as i can look over the top of my day to day pair when I’m in my riding position.

Online retailers will need your pupillary distance measurement to line up your lenses. Specsavers should have measured this for your new set.

I thought we were not allowed to call people “dim” if they have degrees and so on?  😉

    I bet it’s an ordinary or a Richard😀

It was quicker to push up than get the chair lift.

I had a trip to A&E in an ambulance as a result of landing on my head on that downhill hill track.

    Did your scaffolders turn up?

If the scaffolding is up by Monday when you pay him 50% is that not a gesture of intent that the job will be done?

Or a sign of a future visit from an angry scaffolder looking for their money.

The trouble with using pallets is at some point they will collapse when trodden on leaving broken bits of wood with nails sticking out embedded in the mud.

I’d avoid the gravel it won’t bind together very well. You’re better with angular stones/rock and fines to bind together.

Shaving is an (unconscious?) act of submission towards your establishment masters. Beardies are more your independent, free thinking/acting types.

I’m just lazy and can’t be bothered shaving 😁

Entries opened fairly late on if memory serves.

Fife Council are useless when it comes to fly tipping.
8400 reports, 130 penalty notices and 3 reports to the fiscal.
    Link
I’ve provided details of fly tipping to Fife Council complete with cctv ànd offenders details and they simply couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it.

Completed the last 75km today. Completed in 7 rides, all outdoors in varying conditions.
I was denied my egg & tattie scone roll at the Tay Bridge Kiosk though, they’d run out of rolls😱

115km done today. Very nearly sacked it off but glad I didn’t. Set off in the hissing rain expecting it to be like that all day, sky cleared after about an hour and the rain stayed off for the remainder of the ride. The forecasted wind stayed away for most of the ride too.

72km to do tomorrow & the weather forecast looks much better.

A flat tubeless tyre that wouldn’t re-seat yesterday has put me behind. By the time I had fixed it I’d lost the motivation to go out.
I have 187km left to do and two days of nasty weather to do it in.
High wind and rain forecast for tomorrow and a big ride to do.

We used bacon scraps or sausage scraps in the traps to catch rats when we had them in the service duct at work.

Rats are neophobic, best to leave the traps in place so they can get used to them, even if they aren’t set.

Nasty weather today. Snow, rain and wind.
Came off on some ice this afternoon, both wheels, bang, ****!, then lay in a puddle for a bit. Holes in my elbow and knee but none in my kit thankfully 🙃
Big increase in people driving like weapons grade Piers Morgans today. Nearly taken out by one car giving me a close pass while another car tried to overtake the first one.
Managed 60km to keep on target. 250km to go with 4 days to go.

94km done today in fairly mild weather.
The only hitch was when I got home to discover my daughter had gone out leaving the key in the back door locking me out😆

My trip to the High Court has been cancelled, the weather forecast looks like rain & snow, the mudguards are on the bike so I’ve no excuse to miss out on my annual Puffer preparation😁

I’m in St Andrews and there were still nasty icy patches on most of the untreated roads and paths. It’s mainly where the snow has been compacted by people walking or driving on it and the thaw/freeze has turned it to ice.

We have AHSPs in the air handling units at work along with heat recovery wheels and LTHW radiators. At extremes of operating temperature range they are shite. Air too cold the unit ices up and blows clod air turning the room into an ice box, air to hot and the unit flops the other way and blows hot turning the room into a sauna.
Out of 5 ASHPs 4 failed last week, meaning we could heat the rooms or ventilate the rooms but not both.

The system or relatively new and designed by M&E consultants as part of a £12M building refurbishment.
    We are based in Fife.

I stick the disposable ones to the top of my feet over my toes. They seem to work better that way.
I also spray my feet with antiperspirant before going out to try and minimise the effect chilling of my sweaty feet.

I was planning on doing it again this year but I’ve been cited for jury service at the high court in Dundee from 28th December. I’m not sure they would appreciate me turning up betighted and sweaty.

My usual strategy is to alternate 100km rides & 50km rides each day and try to keep the rides as flat a possible.

Discussed on a recent pod cast, pholenic pistons cope with the generated heat better than stainless but need regular lubing or they get sticky. Previous stainless pidtons needed less lubing but don’t cope with the heat build up as well. The new stainless pistons have a pholenic insert iirc so get the best of both.
    Here it is

Which are those 😕 Hope to my knowledge have never used SS for piston material.

    The older 2 piece callipers.
My 2002 M4s had metallic pistons which I assume were stainless after listening to the podcast linked above.

Don’t have it in the house, then you need to make a conscious decision to have one, rather than just being able to lift one willy nilly.

I’ve had mixed experiences with e matrix pads.
They were good to start with but one hot weekend riding at the golfie and they started to howl like a banshee.
I swapped them out for hope originals because I couldn’t stand the noise.
