I’ve been trying to convince the office that a t-shirt folding machine is the greatest invention of the 21st century, but they are having none of it.

Obviously dont let that fact make you reconsider your position

Both sides turned up for a riot, they got what they came for.

Nothing like judging the past by the standard of today, perhaps we should cut off the power of the people supporting this, that might focus minds a little better.

If the people who have been whining about the miners strike for 30 years had put one tenth of that effort into rebuilding local communities they would have much less to carp about today.

You should price match JL against richer sounds, and buy it from whoever you want. RS has the longer warranty.

What is the switch for, it is a single switch for a bathroom light, or a second switch together with a wall one in a bedroom. If the former I would go with the cable pulled out in the junction, if the latter then that earth isn’t an earth.

Old people often ask if I have a bell. I cannot be bothered to point out that I do, and I rang it, and you are as deaf as a post.

Depends on the type, the blow and suck versions (technical terms!) that are used in modern houses are meant to be good, the older ones with blow only less so.

Some areas like where I am now have loads of them about, but if your area doesn’t just remember that its a different qualification to the normal gas one, so less gas fitters will be available to you.

I wonder if you can bury an IBC, not the smallest of thing to leave lying around.

I use an etrex 20, picked it up for £80 in amazon sale, a quick hack and you can load any map in existence on it.

Grade 2 and an EDL t-shirt should do it.

    Not sure, haven’t tried yet

Yes just plug in, tell it what you want to do with it, eg add as another mount or mirror existing etc.

You won’t get much off fibre, everything else should be a minimum of 50% off, up to 75% off.

Best way is just to cancel the TV at the end of contract, and tell them you cannot afford it. You will get 50% on the spot, or within 2 weeks. Leave it a month or two to get 75%.

I think some people need to learn where the money goes. I work every day for local and national government, the waste is just astounding. I personally blew the best part of a million this year providing something that they decided they didn’t want after all, we got paid, they got nothing.

This happens everyday everywhere, and thats before you get to the big ticket items. Anyone for a nimrod, fired off a catapult perhaps? £4Bn down the tube for nothing, it goes on and on and on.

Arguing about Mrs Miggins and her spare bedroom “tax” is just a front, it keeps people away from the bigger issues.

I don’t have a problem with what the government spends money on, I have a problem with how they spend it.

If we could get government efficiency up the same as the best in the world, you could set the personal allowance at 30K or 40K, and still have more money to spare to improve services. We have become experts at burning money while providing little for it.

    >was pretty much the worst experience of my life.

I’ve had about 7 now, let me quote the little old lady in her 80’s who was in before me one time.

Daughter: Oh you didn’t have the sedative
Old Lady: No, that would have wasted the whole day, and I wanted to do the gardening.

On the subject, switching from omeprazole to lansoprazole helps some people, gaviscon advance is also good for offsetting symptons, especially at night. Raising the end of the bed on a couple of bricks helps also. The very best test is a 24 hour manometry and Ph test to judge the seriousness of it, in the end I had a nissen done to (mainly) fix it.

Are you sure the tax return was correct?

I once filled in Tax Paid into the Tips Earned box, that led to a shocking letter!

Its £6.6K from Brum to london on the WCML on virgin, or £5.2K if you take midland on same route and stop at every station.

It is over £4K from Milton Keynes, so no idea where their figures are from.

The water table only gets polluted if you screw it up. I’m sat above a polluted water table right now, due to petrol contamination(Buncefield), should we ban all Petrol use in the UK because of this?

Not quake, but quakeworld, the addon that made it multiplayer.

There were a few lan games before that but QW changed everything and put games on the internet.

I spent a bit of time playing with maps on this so I’ll put down what I’ve found.

Easy way is just to grab a a copy of the opensteetmap, there are ones here already (http://www.talkytoaster.info/ukmaps.htm) in garmin format, rename and put in garmin directory, it just works.

Garmin custom maps are also okay for small areas, see http://www.justgoride.co.uk/Content/Articles/Item.aspx?id=119 for a guide

The better way is to roll your own JNX raster maps, all the base info comes from here(http://whiter.brinkster.net/en/JNX.shtml), these are your own maps in the same format as garmin birdseye, the format has been reverse engineered, in sequence:

    1. Change firmware to allow unsigned JNX maps, this is 2.80 for etrex 20/30 http://www.iogrea.com/Descargas/etrex20/GUPDATE.GCD
    2. Get the mobile atlas creater from the justgoride link, use that to download a layer, say Yahoo layer 8 for the whole country, but this time set the output format as OSMtracker tile storage
    3. Get a copy of mobattojnx from here http://www.the-thorns.org.uk/mapping/help/jnx.html
    4. Convert the layer to jnx with
    mobat2jnx “C:\path\above\layer\directory”.
    5. Get a copy of jnxcustomizer http://www.iogrea.com/Descargas/JNXCustomizer1024.rar
    6. Open the map in jnxcustomizer, group is for separating maps, different group number means they can be disabled separably, start at 13 to avoid any garmin numbers. Level is when this map kicks in, and is the most important bit, I have yahoo L8 set at 200K.
    7. Move the map to the device in the birdseye directory , and that is a first map.
    8. Repeat with different maps at different layers, I have 4. Yahoo layer 8 at 200K, Yahoo layer 11 at 12K, OS 1:50 at 800m, OS 1:25 at 200m (the os maps only cover smaller areas)

Don’t merge multiple layers in the same jnx, it works but is slower than putting each layer in a separate file.

When a friend car was taken they tried this one, on advice of police we know they told them where to shove it. If it had to be moved as it was in a dangerous location then they can charge for moving it it, otherwise no contract exits between you and whoever has it. If hey have a problem with that thy can bill whoever told them to take it.

Just you, the blinking lights, and the zombies hiding in the darkness.

Extra lanes seem like a nice idea, but in practice people just change their journeys to take account of the faster timing. That has been proved time and time again.

I used the M25 every day when the Heathrow section opened, it was better, for about a week.

Biggest problem was that he dropped the second one…..”Don’t swallow”

What are you using on the Pi?

    http://xbian.org/

Its all setup for you, no fiddling needed. I’m using NFS on the synology to speed up transfer (needs insecure_locks fix), its a lot faster than windows shares, and some old 200Mbs homeplus. Plays huge 1080p files fine.
