Blower is always a misname, you will never use the blower only the shredder.

Get one with a all metal impeller and high shred ratio, the best part is just reducing the volume for removal.  I often rake into a pile, then shred the pile, makes it tiny to throw in the green bin.  If you need to get something that wont rake, like sycamore seeds, then you need to move around so think about weight.

    Wear ear protection.

    >You normally connect the EV charger to the incoming power at the meter box, not through the consumer unit.

Totally wrong I’m afraid , that’s just lazy installers not wanting to go into the main consumer unit, or finding it full.

In fact it breaks DNO and government rules to fit none supply equipment in the meter box, the official line is:

“If a DNO or MOP attends the premises to carry out work on their equipment and insufficient space is available within the meter enclosure, work will not be able to proceed. The customer will need to organise (at their expense) the removal of unrelated equipment to create the space needed for the work to be carried out.

NICEIC strongly recommends that electrical contractors do not install any other equipment within meter enclosures.”

This may be useful to some:

    https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1DOswN-GODssM2XmKV4oQ9r-mkGcbGno&ll=52.154601057615075%2C3.374081062500033&z=5

Its a maintained map of just larger(5+) hubs, something that is hard to find on the existing apps.  Avoids having to chance it on 2 chargers behind McDs.

8x22kw would mean all of them work at once.  Its possible they would half to 11kw if using the same post, but as 99% of EVs only change at 7kw on AC it wouldn’t matter anyway.

I dont drive enough to make go worthwhile, as the non cheap hours are still quite pricey.  Over the last year agile has proved best , time the car charges to cheap hours, and the general lower pricing outside of peak hours make it much cheaper overall.

Seems premature, and leaves the tax system in a mess.  A dirty diesel spewing pollution ends up less than an EV producing nothing.  Time for a reset on all bands.

£100, making it £175 in 3 years off only £500 in.  Cannot complain.

Do not use a 3 pin plug, its a quick way to burn your house down.

You have absolutely no idea how tight the connections are in that socket, and in every break in that cable right back to and including the board.

check if the none working one is flashing trying to connect to bluetooth, its not uncommon for them to desync .  The instructions will tell you how to sync them back together.

It did for a while. The octopus agile plan had day ahead pricing and reflected the actual price of power at that point, even going negative sometimes. The problem was during the recent issues it also reflected the shortages and the huge spikes in pricing so it stopped making sense to use it.

When things stabilise and the planned vast amount of off shore wind is built we will see this sort of thing being more common.

Don’t get a nest, google took them over and destroyed all inter compatibility with other products.

You want a product that can interface with intelligent radiator valves so the values can make a call for heat in any room.

Just go on ebay and search second hand. Plenty of brand new shoes from people who fell sideways at the first attempt and never went back.

It comes from a recommendation from the independent electoral commission:

“Voters should be required to show ID at polling stations in Great Britain to tighten up the security of the voting process, the elections watchdog has said.

The Electoral Commission will now develop detailed proposals for how the scheme should work.

Evidence collected by the Commission in its review of electoral fraud revealed that fraud is not widespread in the UK but, despite this, a significant proportion of the public remain concerned that it is taking place.

This has the potential to undermine confidence in the electoral system if not addressed. The Commission considered views on a number of options to tighten the electoral system against fraud and is today publishing its final report.”

Of course its already a thing in NI, and most of Europe.

I would look for someone local, the charger manufacturer sites often have a list of approved installers.

The online sites you see that give a quote just take a cut and sub the work out, some of their work is proper shoddy. Still one person did manage to get a charger installed *before* the meter, which was nice.

and of course don’t install rolec, unless you enjoy house fires.

The change from 55 to 57 is currently in consultation, but is looking slightly complex.

There’s some discussion on MSE here , but basically anyone 55 between the period when this applies needs to watch out, in particular in transferring pensions.

As others have said, go and see a physio. The correct exercise to fix it will depend on the problem, just guessing and trying something can make it worse.

Got an electric car being built this month, new smart meter gives me access to the sweet sweet 5p kwh rates overnight, hell I might switch over to the agile tariff which differs daily, and often goes negative. Nothing better than getting paid by the electric company to charge!

They are even testing out true on demand usage, they sent a mail the other day saying if I halved my usage in the afternoon peak that day when supply was going to be low, they would give it to me free.

Where is the best place to park? The main Heath and Reach car park is a bit of a pain, you end up queuing to leave!

I’m local so dont park. I haven’t seen a queue, but cash has been banned so that might have improved it.

If I was looking for free parking I would pick a random road off plantation road and park there.

To throw a bit of positive news in here, Rushmere round the corner have just cut in 4 new trails. They were described as 80% done by the person working on them I was speaking to, apparently the greensands trust want to divert more people away from woburn to lighten the load there.

There will be an explosion in the number of electric cars next year, and in second hand ones a few years after. Why, because the company car tax for range>130Miles drops to 2% next year.

That a 90% drop in taxation for most drivers, for me its £200~ down to £20~ per month.

Took my 2009 trek ex9 into trek MK a few months back, its was squeaking like a dog toy, I thought the pivot bearings  were shot, turned out to be a hidden crack through the main pivot weld.

Of course they don’t even make bikes with 26″ wheels any more , so no chance of a replacement frame, so they gave me £1700 credit, not bad for a bike that only cost slightly more than that nearly ten years ago.  They also sorted me out an new ex8, it was end of year so little stock available so it took some chasing around to find one.  I was well impressed.

    >has anyone sideloaded new maps …is monkey about with the contents of the device and end up trashing the already-installed maps, because presumably there’s no way back from that.

There’s loads of room on the device, so you dont need to remove the existing ones (which only get replaced when you refresh in the tool anyway).  Just put on new maps along side the existing ones and turn off the ones you dont want to use.

Of course if you really want to meddle then the alternative firmware works fine.  I’m using hand rolled 4 zoom level yahoo+yahoo+OS50+OS25.

Theres a old saying that when the factory maintenance guys are sat around playing cards, then that’s a good sign. I see the same thing in much of computing, if you are busy all day then you are the wrong person, automating most of your job is an essential part of the job.

Always worth adding you can check your ni record at :

If you have never done it its worthwhile, I found 2 years MIA from about 18 years ago, all sorted now.

Separate from anything you did, the bank still seems to be at fault for saying that ” they say that the funds will be refunded within 1 working day”

They didn’t start an immediate investigation, they didn’t follow the funds to freeze them. Off to the regulator you go.

    >big barbed wire fence

barbed wire? Its been upgraded to razor wire!

Not sure if that’s to to keep the guests in or bike thieves from bilsthorpe/gara out.

Either way left at the bottom of the hill after the gate is correct, there is no other exit.

About (edit)2.3 miles to the main center, you can join up trails through sherwood proper and thorsby if you want.
