That one is close to **** farm, I didn't know that existed and I travel that road every week.

Looks like a decent location and not far from Fostons Ash pub.

I'm going to have to drive past **** farm to satisfy my curiosity.

Just tried to find details on this site and can't find a thing.

The guys that cycle round Cranham must have an idea on the name of the camp site, it's a decent size but clearly they don't like to advertise.

This is frustrating, let's have some more local knowledge.

    I agree with mrmo,

It's about half a mile from Fostons Ash pub heading towards Birdlip on the left.

The only visible sign says "Private camp site" although I believe it is something Farm.

Been using it for years – no problems – no bad reactions.

I am trying to raise sponsership for Meningitis Trust for The great North Run that my daughter and I are doing.

Proving really difficult, especially as we have a large pool of people to tap up that are the same.

We have a minimum amount to raise and at the moment that is looking really unlikely.

    This made me smile.
Currently teaching my daughter to drive and I have warned her not to trust anyone in a 4 x 4.
I like to think this is based on prcatical experience and evidence rather than prejudice.
Have also warned her not to trust anyone driving in a hat, ( OAP or chav.)

    Muffin Man.

If you are really into cars, their history and the people associated with them you may enjoy the festival of speed.

If you have a passing interest and you do not recognise someone driving a significant vehicle the whole event may mean nothing.

If you are a car anorak and happy to pay the extra money for a seat that means you can see what is happening rather than watching it on the screens
    you will really enjoy yourself.

When we went there were straw barricades alongside the track that meant you could not see anything unless you paid an extra £20ish for a seat in one of the grandstands.

This Sunday we went to the Goodwood Breakfast Club meeting, which was far more interesting, free to get in and an ever changing display of vehicles that you can see, talk to the owners and all very friendly.

Stretching a point and combining some of the previous posts,

50 to 100 TVRs of various models in a tunnel is a great sound.

When you get them going in both directions through a tunnel the combined
    sound is excellent.

    Wickes Folding Patio Doors.

    http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/187526?WT.ac=SP100022

We had some of these fitted last July and they are excellent. This is not just my opinion but also the builders who fitted them. They had fitted similar and more expensive products but said the Wickes doors were superbly made, came with everything in the boxes and went together easily, in fact they allowed two days and the job only took one.

They fold and slide smoothly, really neat fittings and locks and when you open the “three door” panel they fold perfectly parallel against each other so you get th emaximum opening possible.

If Wickes are still using the same supplier and you are a competent DIY er have a good look at these.

Ours came untreated, so allow for three coats of whatever wood finish you prefer.

    Brooeess,

Was the walk more hilly than you have been used to ?

Last year I had a similar experience with what was advertised as a 7 mile run on undulating terrain. The distance would not have been a major issue but the “undulating” terrain especially downhill proved, the next day to be a real issue re: shinsplints.

Red marks, swelling and an inability to walk for a about a week.

I had never suffered before and hope I don’t again.

Try a Kong. These are a big lump of rubber with a hol ein the middle to stuff treats.

A well packed Kong keeps a springer mentally challenged for up to 20 minutes. It may not sound long but it takes the attention away from other things.

Another thing worth trying is the hide chewy sticks that pet shops sell.
10 to 30 pence a time an dthey can keep the dog occupied for 30+ minutes.

Pigs ears serve the same purpose but can make a springer a bit hyper.

We have a two year old springer that we used these things on, and still do.
All dogs are different but it has worked for us.

The other obvious thing is plenty of excercise and toys for them to play with.

    Windsurfer.

Go really well, you can get more than one person on them, I think we have had six people and a dog maximum.

They have an element of steering and it’s not far to fall off at high speed when the fence is coming up too fast.

Standing up and using the foot straps is fun.
