What he said, fit is the number one thing. Got a 661 Evo, liked the look of it etc, but realised after a couple of weeks it can rotate up so the chin guard is above my nose! If Giro lids fit you ok, then def try the Remedy.

Interested to know how you get on Den, thinking of something similar for next year.

I could be wrong, but from the pictures they look properly flat. Always preferred flat pedals to be concave really. Do look nice though.

Still think the best one was whoever it was on here that his lad told Santa he wanted a cheese sandwich for christmas! 😆

Your barking! I done CG last year, end of sept last year. Mate said it was an easy scramble. First time I’d tried such a thing. I suppose the technicality wasn’t too bad, but the exposure did play on my mind. I suppose next time I should try some more sensible shoes/boots rather than the cannondale bike shoes I had on!

BMW 1M is on the way for similar money to the RS3. Know which I’d rather have. Can’t afford either though 🙁

Used to be a season ticket holder, but something got in the way of that. Women and expensive holidays! Might have to renew for next season. You know what the something interesting is on boxing day? Hmmm tickets still available isn’t there?

Where do you think I am! 😆
I am a Gloucester boy born and bred though and can’t say I consider myself middle class. I have it on good authority that theres a good chunk of the Worcester players in Chelt too.

As for rugby fans going to matches in their posh range rovers – true to some extent but my team has a largely traditional working class fan base

A quick scan round Gloucester city centre on any Saturday will tell you that 😀

I think most the football games have been called off due to spectator safety rather than the players. Least thats the excuse being thrown around. I do wonder though, how much of is down to the clubs not wanting their investments injured.

Footballers tend to be in peak physical condition, and are built for speed and agility, therefore don’t have a load of fayt to protect them from the cold. Racehorses V Carthorses.

Have you seen the physical condition of a top level rugby player? Theres some backs in the top flight weighing 14-15 stone (and more) and able to sprint sub 11s 100m. They’re big guys, but very little fat on them. I’ll bet most are just as fit as any premiership footballer. Muscle is better for warding off the knocks than flab.

Don’t think I’ll ever be a fatty, but loved your vid Coastkid. Makes me want to start planning adventures for next year.

Probably easier to list what I haven’t. Eeeerr….. I guess its stem, seatpost, grips and I haven’t managed to wreck a frame yet but everything else I think.

only 20k? are you a lottery winner or something?

Are you a taxi driver or something? 😛

I believe in the winter tyres, I will be getting some in the future. I think the big difference is the compound is designed to work in temps less than 7degC, and come summer the compound doesn’t last as well or as well suited to the warmer temps. If this kind of weather is becoming a regular feature of the british winter, then we should have the same tyres rules as most of Europe does.
Check this if you still doubt their effectiveness.

I just wuss out tbh. Don’t have great circulation and as such my fingers and toes become painfully cold so easily. Then it just isn’t fun.

Heckler is a funny shape though. I loved mine, but it was just too short. C’dale prophet is lot better fit. Should have sold that as a frame only.

Road riding, easier to seperate between the days I’m fisting 😕 myself up a mountain and the days I’m an armoured fattie on a DH bike. 🙄

Looking at these photos reminds me what a rubbish year of riding I’ve had. Got to change things next year.

    +1
Although the club trip to GT and Inners back in may was good, had some memorable rides there with a couple of mates daring each other faster down the descents. Think the blue route down from buzzards nest will stick for a while, comedy crashes and plenty of laughs.

New Kona Operator looks good and a bit of a bargain. Dirt Mag next month has a factory build DH bike group test. I think the Kona is in there and getting favourable reviews. I’ve never been a fan of Kona, old ones I had a go on were horrible things.
Kona, YT and Saracen all look good for the money. Canyon is good value, but don’t like the look of the numbers.

I’d agree with pretty much everything said above. Its fantastic, looks amazing, it really is art and not like any bike film before, but it didn’t make me want to grab my bike and leg it out the door. Probably a good thing with current conditions.

Thats The Slab at Dalbeattie isn’t it? Nice crash, that thing does look steep from the top. Amazed at how the trees around it have sprung up since I was last there a couple of years ago.

Think I was aware of Santa Cruz before I got seriously into mountain bikes, but that might have had something to do with surfing or something that I was into then.

Got a CAAD10 Ultegra on order and I fully intend to use it for a bit of commuting once the weather improves. Should be able to clock up somewhere near 40miles a day 😯

Swanny I reckon, but could be dependent on the ashes 3rd test which runs 16th-20th and SPOTY is 19th. Just to make it a little more interesting.

Although I’m now concerned that with how easy it can be to meet women I’m becoming overly selective… that I’m looking for a perfect ‘one’ that’ll just never exist.

As someone just re-entering the whole dating game, its a bit scary how common that is. The number of profiles that are after a romantic, stand up comic that looks like Brad Pitt…. etc etc
I think thats the biggest problem with internet dating, its quite easy to get very selective and dismiss anyone who doesn’t completely fulfill the description. Could be looking for a while….
