Makes you wonder what the mpg would be if weighed a bit less than the 2.5tonnes it currently does!

First off, I have no problems with people having 4x4s who actually need them, but the school run mums in their Cayennes,X5s,Q7s and MLs (and living in Cheltenham, theres more than a few)should be banned!
The only cars I saw having real problems out in the slush today was the X5s and the like, and mainly because they come on stupid 20" alloys with tyres wide enough to be classified as construction vehicles. You won't see a Landy with that kind of setup on it.
Has to be said that the driver makes a massive difference, I saw a Mitsi L200 4×4 spinning all 4 wheels earlier away from the lights, cock!

The aerosol thing quite a large bit of publicity at my school when someone decided a fag straight after a lung full was a good idea. I'm sure I don't need to tell you the outcome.

That Ken Block Scoob is ace, I was going to suggest the Skoda Octavia Scout, my olds have got one, brilliant car, works well. Clarkson in The Times suggested it was a better car than either the Audi A6 or A4 AllRoads.

I just recently bought my new Revelations from Rutland Cycles and can highly recommend them. I tried Rush, wasn't impressed with them(woefully slow to respond and deliver the goods)and even less impressed with Bonthrone Bikes, just try ringing them!

For me its got to be the Hope Pro hubs, easy to look after and maintain. The shimano system is fine if you look can maintain a good service schedule, but for lazy buggers like me, got to be the Hope.

Santa Cruz Heckler, Gaz – a budget would be a good idea, this section of the market is huge, almost inclined to agree with 2nd post in the thread, very few poor bikes in there currently.

Sorry for dragging up an old post (pun not intended 🙂 ) but any idea of the actual weight of this thing? As opposed to just heavy 😉

Ebay is a good bet, or Google shopping. Seems most people on a budget prefer either the Oakley O frames or Spy Alloys (I use the Alloys), but take a look round theres a lot of choice out there.

Admittedly my build isn’t quite what most 456 owners/brant had in mind, but got mine at 26.3lb. 20″ frame, use a pair of 115mm Reba SLs. Light enough to do the climbs and still a blast back down.

Rather handy finding this. I’ve been after a half decent bargain lamp to replace my ageing halogen set. Looking forward to seeing the beam shots before I pull the trigger on ordering a set.
    Thanks Trout.
