Well every size on the upgrade site is now showing as back order 4+ weeks. Guess someone bought the remaining V1s.

As a LBS mechanic I won’t have sram on my bikes, appalling stuff. Mainly from Elixir days, but not seen enough of the guides yet to convince me otherwise.
Had one dodgy Shimano XT rear calliper a couple of years back that I stripped and found a nicked piston seal. Replaced that and then fault free from then onwards. Got a pair of SLX and XTR trail on my bikes currently and I don’t see me changing that. Fault free, oodles of power and silent (unless soaking wet of course).
Regarding noises, make sure the calliper is aligned to the disc properly, so both pads contact equally. Also, have you checked the calliper mounts are true? I still see a lot of bikes that need the mounts facing to make them true.

    Sounds like a potential corker.

Ran most of last race season with Continental CycloX King 32mm setup tubeless, only time I had problems was trying to run too low in soft conditions. I think I was possibly sub 20psi. Most the time was about 30psi or just under. Amazed how well they held on.

Sounds like Garmin Edge 25 or if you need more detail/larger screen either the 510 or 520.

😥 Sorry to hear it, a cat or dog really is a family member and it leaves such a hole.

    Pretty ugly. 😉
I quite like the look of ’em, but not sure about that paint job or the geo in the larger sizes.

Having had a run in with similarly aggressive driver this week I can kind of sympathise with the cyclist, but he’s completely undone himself with chasing the guy down If thats what he’s done. Was he just traveling the same route and caught him up at the junction? Either way, karma was handed out with that fall.

Mr.Porter is quite the genius on these things. I think he was also responsible for that fake second hand Aston advert.

I think one of these would be perfect for most of my riding

I think he’s just a bit too safe and possibly PR groomed. There’s no chance of him dropping an F bomb on TV or interview. Or, more likely, possibly a bit cold and calculating. He’s a very serious competitior and goes about the job to win and nothing else, its just not a very British character trait.

Lets get the British thing sorted, its not like its one of his grandparents is British or claiming under residency, his parents are both English. According to good ol’ wikipedia, they moved out to Kenya to run a farm. We’ve had his aunt in the shop, most of his family still live in and around Tetbury. He has a far better claim to his nationality than certain cricketers playing for England.

Having seen the carnage of the women’s race beforehand, I don’t blame them for it. No one wants 3 weeks of racing to be spoiled by a stupid crash.

Wiggins, the results speak for themselves. I have no idea how good Burton’s competition was but Wiggins is/was competing at the peak of competitive cycling. With the professionalism of modern cycling, I’d argue that its harder now to be so dominant.

Unless it becomes a crack I wouldn’t worry. Yes its imperfect, but you bought a planet-x, what else did you expect?

It was without doubt Wiggins’ best chance of winning the Tour, but there’s more to it than that and I’m sure the whole of Sir Dave’s programme (death star and all) were designed around the single purpose of getting Brad on that top step in Paris.
I imagine given the target that Brailsford had set out for Sky, even Sky couldn’t believe how well that course would suit them.
But you’ve still got to do the hardwork, you don’t win the Tour just for winning two separate days.

Look for the onboard of Loeb’s run. Mind scrambling fast, but so neat and tidy with it.

Nukeproof TR. Bargains aplenty. More expensive option would be a 5010,know a couple of guys running bigger forks in the front like the TR or Blur TRc.

12.5 St roughly, 95 psi Schwalbe Ultremos front and back. Might be more like 90 psi with the pump I use. Much less and it feels a squirrel on some of the faster downhill corners around here.

It’s the taller/larger sizes that seem to get increasingly screwy geo too. I was looking at the Cube Stereo when the current version came out. Big thing that started the alarm bells ringing as that even though each size went up in seat tube and headtube length in normal increments, the wheelbase barely changed. If I recall correctly 7mm between the 20″ and the 22″ frame. I stopped looking at it then.

It’s a Renault which probably means it’ll drive well but fall to bits for a past time.

Pity, been consistently some of the best damped forks available. I’d guess a victim of the SRAM monster group and the OE market

I suspect it’s got more to do with how vibration is damped and dispersed throughout a frame than straight forward flex. As a rough guess, the shapes required for the first gen aero bikes have meant far more was transferred to the rider than more conventional frame shapes.

Worth getting one with ball or roller bearings on the drawer runners, makes a difference when the drawers start to get a bit fuller.
