If you can DIY then do it, it will be well cheaper than using a utility. Even the £250 (ish) they charge is subsidised as there are call centres, surveyors and fitters involved in the process ramping up the cost considerably. I think the B&Q stuff is subsidised by us too as we have to shift a certain amount of it or we get fined 10% of turnover

Most of the weddings I went to I didn't speak to the bride or groom, even my brothers, whats the point. So I thought sod spending 10K on a party and buying 40 people a roast dinner and I went to the registy office with 2 close friends and then spend a fair wedge on a nice meal for the 4 of us and a load of expensive booze.

Probably spend under £200 including the ceremony and licence, plus my wifes ring was a good few 00

I've always liked the DHX5 air, although it will never be a coil shock it can be tuned to be closer to feeling like one than a RP3 or float. But on that transition you need a coil shock for sure

Its been a pretty damn good time for me, but someone had to have some luck..!

Leave my pay in the account until the last day of the month when the baclaycard bill is paid, that helps offset, plus all my savings are offsetting. Its saving me a fortune offsetting

I have a Whyte 905 and find it better for all day rides than the PA that went before it. I doubt I notice any differenc in the material due to fat tyres and its just the weight making the ride nicer

I like it, I have it on my road bike and I had 9 speed ultegra / 105 on the last one. The shifting is not as direct as shimano and is more fiddly to set up, but when set up its sweet. I like the gear change over shimano too, although I suspect it isn't for all. And it looks a lot better on my bike (the main reason for choosing it!!)

I think Surf-Mats concern is with how BP are handling the PR aspect, and they are doing a terrible job, mainly because of cultural differences in American board rooms vs British board rooms. I think he must comprehend that BP needs to maintain shareholder confidence in order to remain viable and come through this, its just that the messages their PR machine are putting out should be very very different, they really should have hired some American consultants to help Tony Hayward with the American audience. I think if they had a better PR team then Surf-Mat, and 320M Americans would be a lot happier.

People do worry about the Skoda image, because it portrays them as poorer than VW drivers, who are poorer than Audi drivers. Basically what you are saying with a Skoda is that you are poor.

I rode more in the first year after having kids than in the second. I'm selling bikes off now, rarely use them, toddlers are much more fun to be with than babies. I much prefer to spend time with them at the weekend than other men in lycra on a windsewpt moor.

At least if you buy the second hand one it will have done most of its depreciating already so you won't loose as much

We did the loft 2 years ago when the Mrs was up the duff. Its fairly easy to live through TBH as all the work is done from the outside appart from when they run the plumbing and elec down to the main supply.

Extending out the back is far far more disruptive to day to day life as we will loose the kitchen and they will mess up the garden. The costs seem about right, out loft was 35K and the back extension of the dining room and kitchen into one massive room is going to be 30K. This is much cheaper than moving to the equivalent house where I live, probably in the order of 50K.
