always wanted hornby trainsets or scaletrix, but after sticking me mams knitting needle in a 60’s plug socket, then flying acrossthe room to crack my head open on edge of the piano she decided i wasnt ready yet for anything electric! .mind you i was spoilt(only now age 53 do you realise it) name any toy from 60/70,s i seemed to have it,jonny sevens, corgi chipperfield circus set (boxed set fetched £1000+ on t’bay recently, weep) every other corgi car in their catalogue so it seemed. umpteen ‘MERIT’ dressing up clothes, loads of guns rifles lugers that transparent barreled pop gun that fired a load of pingpong balls, wow ,life couldnt get better. Then i grew up.f*ck…….

good ol Citroen C5 estate, same luggage cap as Mondeo. .Go for the 2.2hpi, strong torquey, fast. then you spend £100 at Pro-Bitz on the chip module and suddenly you get another 5+ mpg ,pulls from second and exelerating from 50 upwards is awesome. recconmended for all diesels….drove to the mega non stop 70-90 all the way,46mpg!! now waiting for them to bring out the C6 in estate mod..

if you used brand new top quality drill bits(no chinese bargain stuff) ,you might get through the cable guide if you give it everything, but the slightest stall and the ti.will gall and snap the bit. if you can fit it in ,you could try a junior hacksaw with new blade,(good for choppin down ti. bolts)then small warder file to open it up.work fast as ti. grabs horribly!

have a Giant twist for 10 years now, for those post sunday rides where you are too knacked to bother with headwinds etc . took the 17 tooth sprocket off and put on 15 and up goes the top speed. been a life saver after shattering heel and i still got in the woods to play.

Theakstons all the way..thick, heavy and strong taste. The alcohol evaporates so dont believe the tosh of all getting drunk etc, also dont skimp use a large bottle, one swig for you, rest in the stew. a regular for me and the missus……oh yeh, stick some chestnuts in as well cook for longer than it says….

roller chain 98.8 percent efficient, pretty good for ‘heath robinson’ the fact you need a ‘nubber’ for your elastic band says it all. Ask any ‘proper’ engineer. yup your flares get oil on them but i can live with that….
