I have considered all these options, but just wondered if anyone had any experience of a weld repair.

Aye, but I haven’t been able to source a single replacement alloy as yet (VW 5 spoke).

Yes you really should try it. I’ve ridden bikes for the last 30 years or so & really can’t imagine life without a motorbike .
Surrey based you say? Shameless plug for my mate Andy who runs AJH Surrey motorcycle training. He’s good.

99percentchimp – like the Beemer , bet it sounds fruity with those pipes.
Vortexracing – I have put my fingers in my ears & I’m saying lalalalalalalalalalalalalalala….. don’t tempt me, but I bet it’s pricey.
Looking at the Fastline FB page reminds me I used to have a 350 YPVS. I think I sold it for about £900.…

barrfy – 1st bike I ever rode was a Puch Maxi, around a supermarket car park at the age of about 12. In my head it was Laverda Jota. I can still remember the buzz, all these years later!

Not seen this particular episode, but round here it’s the local pikies, matched with a nice navy quilted barbour & a gold sovereign ring. Mullet is optional.

Yes, many years ago. Great friendly festival with many interesting eclectic acts. My abiding memory though, is of my brother knocking over the saucepan on the camping stove, which contained the days entertainment – mushroom tea 😉 still managed to get a bit of a buzz from sucking the grass dry…

2.5TDI SWB here. Absolutely love it. Bags of character. Sleeps 3 in total comfort, 4 is cosy. IME the awning is a must for storing all the usual crap on a trip.

    Pony is an optional extra

Hemelite blocks are definitely the ones to go for. Most house builders won’t use aircrete blocks, such as thermalite/celcon because they always crack.

I’ve had a motorbike since the age of 17 (not the same one) & can’t imagine being without one.

Wasn’t the drummer Terry Williams, who used to drum for that great Welsh “west coast” band, Man?

Hats off to the pilot/crew, but the cynic in me says this will bolster the argument that Gatwick needs a 2nd runway, as they’ve had to shut the airports “only” runway. Or would they have diverted flights/ cancelled departures, even if there was more than one runway? Genuine question.

I watched the 1st Hobbit last night on Spanish tv & really enjoyed it. Don’t know why, but maybe because I had to concentrate to get the dialogue. 1st time I saw it in English, I fell asleep. Also, on Spanish tv you get 7 mins of adverts every 40 mins or so, so no time to get bored & plenty of time to refill your glass, go to the loo etc. They call him Bilbo Bolsón.…
Don’t think I’ll be making any special arrangements to fly back out here & watch the other 2 though.

I’m staying with my MIL in Spain & she is just the best & treats me like a king. Rather here than anywhere else. Mmm tapas & vino tinto every day. 8)

Cooled camomile tea soaked into cotton wool is very good. I would have thought your local chemist could sort eye drops for conjunctivitis.

Some great links. I remember sometime in the 70’s on TV there was a dramatisation of The Canterbury Tales & Jake was playing some kind of troubadour & his wit captivated me, even as a 10/11 year old kid. I remember my dad roaring with laughter- I’m sure there was plenty in there that went straight over my head. This thread has brought back great memories, thanks.
