Doesn’t so much make me sad, but really angry. How can such an appalling building get built?

Wells Cathedral on the other hand just blows my mind. It could grace the set of any sci-fi film. i remember the 1st time i saw this, i just couldn’t believe it had been created by medieval minds.

Just listen to Knopflers album Privateering & then tell me the mans not got soul. For me, exquisite playing from the less is more style of guitar picking.

As it’s almost Hallowe’en, I’ll plump for Bad moon rising by the Creedence from American Werewolf in London 👿

Lovely, thanks. Don’t suppose there’s an app version that’ll work on an iPad, for when I’m out & about? I’m pushing for my employer to provide a Surface Pro but stuck with the iPad at the moment 😕

Thanks, I’ll look at that. I would say the majority of drawings that I review are undimensioned ( if that’s a word), or have very few & usually the critical dimension I’m after will be on a section, to check a span etc, hence the need for a measuring tool.

In the 70’s we played war games all day long, toys were usually some kind of weapon thing, toy soldiers, action man, Cowboys & Indians etc. Similar s@£t, different format – probably a bit healthier cos it was all played out in the playground/ local woods

I think it was a couple of years ago. You still need an EPC, for what it’s worth.
I think the home sellers pack was ill- conceived, but there were certain elements which would enable a purchaser to make an informed decision as to whether they want proceed before shelling out on solicitors, surveys etc.

If only the home sellers pack requirement still existed, you wouldn’t have these issues as the vendor would have to have everything up front before marketing the property…

Build up a collection, pile up on offenders doorstep, douse in lighter fuel, ignite & ring the doorbell, then sit back & watch them stamp out the fire.

Ask/insist the vendor submits a regularisation application to Building Control ( basically a retrospective building regs app); assuming it was installed correctly it should get turned round in max 2 weeks.

Motorcycle boots here – most comfortable, most waterproof I have owned. MC boots you can actually walk in, still going strong since 2001.

Whilst filling up at a petrol station with a lovely drop of 2 star, on the A303 if I remember correctly, a biker with pillion pulled up at the next pump but the rider forgot to put his feet down as they pulled to stop. Oh how we chuckled as over they both went.

Taste of the sea. Once described to me as like licking snot off the back of a tortoise. I quite like them.

    Well said theotherjohnv.
I went once only to a bullfight, here in Huesca & echo your views. I actually felt that a large number of the audience, those that were not ” aficionados” we’re pretty disrespectful of what was going on in front of them, both from the bulls & the toreros perspective, as they seemed more interested in drinking & throwing food around.
Las Ventas in Madrid is stunning, only been there to see Primal Scream & Red Hot Chilli Peppers though.

    The bull gets eaten.
Some would say many humans are already bred to be slaves.

Currently in Huesca for the festivals (definitely not for the bullfighting). Have to say I find bullfighting pretty abhorrent & there was a significant anti protest outside the bullring, which seems to have some momentum throughout Spain.
The torero has a heavily pregnant wife, so hope the guy pulls through ok.
I’m sure he & his family et al are well aware of the risks.
The bull obviously doesn’t have a choice, however these bulls are bred specifically for bullfighting, so wouldn’t even have any kind of life before their brutal death, were it not for bullfighting. Not sure that makes it any better? Is any kind of existence better than no kind of existence at all? Probably IMO…

Is the road that is being drained adopted by the highways authority? I think the fact that they seem to have volunteered to carry out partial remedial works speaks volumes – it suggests they may believe they have responsibility for the drain. I would push harder, but you may have to prove nuisance caused by the defective drain, which would most likely involve you incurring costs/consultants fees to prove this. If you are not in any hurry, keep a photo diary to build your case. Not sure how you would prove beyond doubt that it is their responsibility though.

You’ve shown me yours, I’ll show you mine. Mine are 10+’years old & do need a it of a spruce up. As I said, I’m sure the actual custom footbed is fine as its carbon fibre, all you need is new footbed cover bonded to the top.

    pedropete

I have carbon fibre insole thingies. you just need to get the front footbed part renewed by getting it re-bonded to the carbon fibre insole. I would have thought most podiatrists could do this without it costing the earth.
