Kevin Keegan. I got my mum to sew a number 7 on the back of my football shirt.
Also Barry Sheene, cigarette card clothes-pegged in place for that authentic two stroke sound from the spokes.

Surprisingly got through on the phone inside 10 minutes!
Turns out it relates to a very small pension income he receives from when his mum died.

If it starts 3ft up the wall & extends above that, you can discount rising damp due to a faulty dpc. There must be a leak from somewhere- central heating pipe work?

Are we talking about the cx rider? We went to the same school in Caterham Surrey. I worked with his dad for a bit – he was a right character. Nice family.

I still listen to the vinyl albums of my youth, so I’ll have to go for a couple of pre-recorded cassettes I used to own, but which eventually got mangled:
    Deep Purple – Fireball
Status Quo – On the level
Might have to look them up on Apple Music later…

Not had it for many years but I do recall it being pretty weird. I can recall being convinced there was a stranger in the room, but completely helpless to react. When fully awake felt spooked for some considerable time.

+1 for Ainsa. Also, go to Ordesa National Park, bikes not permitted, however it really is a fabulous place for trekking.

I remember someone on this forum recommending smoking a spliff for enhanced audio pleasure & from what I can remember of my misspent youth & beyond, I would concur. However, I found the side effects of such activity more negative than positive, so I’m looking for the hifi world to provide the answer. Anyway, regardless of the various fors & against, I’ve pulled the trigger & gone for an Ifi micro DAC. Time will tell if it’s snake oil or not.

Richer Sounds were doing the irDac for £249, but it looks like I’ve missed the boat on that one. £250 max

Hi-fi is good quality, so I’m thinking DAC is worth the investment if there would be a noticeable improvement.
What about using Pure software on the MacBook plus a DAC, or would that be overkill?

I’ve thought about trying the dragonfly, but also tempted by an Arcam iDac – twice the price but is it twice as good?

Ok, as it’s getting dusty in here & David Gray was mentioned, his album White Ladder always takes me back to a previous life, before my gorgeous wife Ana died, we spent an idyllic holiday in the Greek islands, lucky enough to charter a yacht with skipper & he had White Ladder on repeat. I can still smell the sea, hear the wind ripping the sails & see Ana sitting in the bow soaking up the sun, with the biggest grin as Dolphins break the surface.
Music is a very powerful medium.

The Sundays album Reading, Writing & Arithmetic reminds me of a road trip through the Spanish Pyrenees. I spent a fabulous but ultimately unsuccessful day in Ainsa trying to get off with a girl called Rosa. I ended up giving her the cassette.
