It’s sounding like it’s a bit tricky to fit a Royce correctly..? As someone with experience only of fitting HT BBs, should I avoid doing it myself? How hard can it be? Mine also has Ti bolts if that makes any difference.

Wow £300 sounds rather steep. Mind you, mine was done a couple of years ago, but it is a decent Witter jobbie, with electrics. I suppose it might depend on the vehicle too.

Cost less than £150 (all in) for a mobile fitting service chap to do my old Vectra. ACE Towbars of Swindon I think it was.

windscreen washer tubing looks suitably cheap & simple. Anyone know the diameter required for Hope stuff? I know it’s different to Avid as my Juicy bleed kit tube is too small. Cheers.

ah super, thanks, that sounds a bit more do-able.

yep saw it on Friday in Oxon. Amazing thing, just kind of floats there in the sky.

yeah, letting the lbs do it is probably a good idea. Although, on my guesswork torque scale, I suppose 50Nm is probably somewhere in the region of “swinging on it”.

My norbar slo wrench only goes to 20Nm. Royce BB needs 50nm doesn’t it?

I certainly hope they’re a good match, I have a Royce Ti & RS7s on the way. Will let you know :-)

**** that’s lovely. For some reason, I could never marry a nicolai, but I’d sure as hell cheat on my bike with one.

I’ll probably have a Fivespot frame (medium horst, with push rp23 & both push and Turner rockers) up for sale early July, once my new LT carbon arrives. Drop me a line if you’re interested in more details.

yeah very disappointing. Mandelson must have threatened to destroy the planet or something if she didn’t say sorry.

Congratulations, and good luck! I’ve got a couple of those too…12 weeks & 2.5 yrs…your life will never be the same again! Our toddler just got her first “proper” bike this week though & seeing her scoot around the garden makes all those sleepness nights worthwhile. All the best.

I checked with Fisher last week & they’re expecting the first in the UK sometime in August. I couldn’t be arsed to wait so picked up some 09’s at a good price.

bonza! Something I’ve always meant to do is have three chains & use them in rotation to delay wear on the cassette & rings.

Lovely, although I’d agree there’s one or two colours too many on there. Who cares though, I bet it rides like a dream.

I’m still a big fan of CRC, but whereas I hardly ever bothered looking elsewhere when ordering bike bits, I’m finding more & more that other sites are cheaper whist still providing a decent service.

MTT…nice :-). but you wouldn’t go for the Omega again?

definitely one of these in that case…

Original moonwatch movement, but with sapphire glass rather than hesalite so it’ll look pretty for longer. It also has a very cool transparent back so you can see the movement. And mechanical of course.

yup, all about the budget when it comes to watches. For my 40th in a few years time, I’m going to try & blag my current favourite…an Omega Speedmaster Professional 3573.50

Thanks alpin, sounds ace. I’d be sticking some Pike 454 U-Turns (110 – 140mm) on it, so could run them lower for most riding. Cheers.

Sanderson make some lovely, clean looking steel frames. Thinking of one of them to replace my mk1 PA as that’s probably over qualified for what I need.

I think the Mojo comes up a bit small anyway, so I’d suggest you’re looking at medium or large.

Lopes link stiffens up the rear apparently. Pretty much the only critisim of the original was a bit of flex.

My LBS has one. Looks fantastic by all accounts, though can’t get a ride on it sadly as it’s too pretty & clean. So I’ve ordered an LT carbon instead :-D. Worth checking out the MTBR Santa Cruz forum as there are a few XCs out there in use.

Pretty sure I’ve seen that first one on MTBR somewhere :-). Ace picture.
