Oh my size too, now that would make an ideal commuter.

Edit: mechanical discs, I’m out.

I commute to work on a cx bike and over the last 8 years I’ve tried quite a few different brakesets.

* The bike came with avid shorty’s – not very good
* Frogglegs – much better than the shorty’s but a bit of a faff to set up
* Mini v’s with rollarmajig thing – better but the front never felt right
* avid shorty ultimate – better again and worth the money until I got the ones below
* Shimano Ultegra CX70 – by far the best I’ve used and I’ll be sticking with these. Work well dry or wet.

er I think that’s it.

I’ve always run swisstop pads when I’ve been running cartridge pads

Contador for a late attack, froome to follow, just because he can, nibali passed by both of them? Maybe.

Has contador done any chasing? He’s going to be behind nibali now

AG2R are with Sram , not sure they have electric gears ?

They have a wireless group being tested at the moment, must need more work 🙂

I think it was about Movistar not helping to chase Nibali.

Don’t understand why they’re not, they have the most to lose. Froome can just sit there and save himself for tomorrow. Nibali just out for a bit of glory with a stage win I guess.

I’m only looking at the tracking online so whats happening at the front of the yellow jersey group? Is froome chasing?

pebblebeach

Froome needs to let nibali go, he’s no threat to him and plenty others can do the chasing.

I’ve been using Ultimate Bike Spray on my commuter recently and I’m very impressed with it. Ridden in all weather 2.5hours a day an relubed every couple of days.

Gorsebank, beside Dalbeattie 7 stanes, has a couple of lovely ‘wild camping’ spots. Gorsebank

Sands campsite is one of my favorite places, great site with stunning views. Gairloch

I don’t bother with midge nets and the like, just slap on the deet.

Trouble is that the stolen socks plus other stuff comes in at around 700 quid and the bag had sentimental value sonwantnto replace that like for like

Someone stole your socks?

And don’t do the fraud thing, that just makes you into a criminal too.

Edit: Talking of theft – £145 for a shopping basket!

Im sure you have one in your kitchen and do to infrequent use/change it’ll be a sprawling metropolis of bugs with vice, bug-casinos etc.

I’m sure I don’t, hate the things. If I had some scrubbing to do, I’d use a brillo pad then bin it.

Those yellow scrubber things harbour lots of bacteria you know.

cook – eat – wife loads dishwasher – I empty and reload dishwasher – start dish washer – unload and dry stuff that isnt dry.

it’d be much quicker to just wash it by hand.

Maybe you should load occasionally, wife should unload or one of you could do both. Just to shake things up a bit and make life a bit more interesting.

Why do you need to dry stuff?

Time is precious? Washing two pans, four plates and cutlery takes how long compared to load/unload? Not much longer..

What sort of meal involves just two pans? Do you use glasses and utensils?

Anyway washing up would completely ruin our white corian sink.

Why do people have dishwashers? I thought it was a 90’s thing! It takes minutes by hand to wash the contents of a machine. Plus you dont have to build up a load. First world laziness.

It doesn’t take ‘minutes’ to wash pots, pans, plates, cutlery, glasses, etc after a meal. A couple of plates after breakfast, yep, after an evening meal a fair bit longer.

Time is far too precious to be standing at a sink washing up, I’d rather spend the time doing other stuff. That’s for losers.

You have to build up a load – yep and how long do you think that takes?

True. Which, statistically speaking, is why it is possible for 100% of people to feel either (a) useless or (b) underappreciated.

Is that because some people are giving 110%?

Dualit, yes they are expensive but you can buy all the spares and stop filling landfill with failed inferior goods.

They are expensive, they look great, they last forever, they don’t actually do a very good job of toasting bread.

Hmm, interesting. Do you do anything special like

Not, just wash clothes in it. It doesn’t get special treatment.

Vent in the door to improve air flow?

Yeh that’ll look good.

We’ve had integrated washing machines in our kitchens for 18 years, not had any minging mouldy seals yet and we don’t prop the door open.

That’s just how it works when supporting a GC rider.

Yes on reflection I was probably a bit harsh. Porte was probably told to take it easy and save himself for the alps. I love watching porte making people suffer on the climbs – he looks like the joker when he’s grimacing.

Richie Porte is 1h 30m back, that is huge

Yeh it certainly is. I know he did a lot of work for froome at the start and helped get him to where he is now but wtf happened there.

And to think he’s moving to another team as a GC contender, er really?

I can buy a property, give it to a management company and virtually forget about it.

Depends on the agent but it’s not quite as simple as that.

Remember you’ll be taxed on the monthly income too, plus you’ll pay capital gains tax on the profit when you sell. I wouldn’t sink £200k purely into property unless you have other investments and a decent sized pension pot already.

use the 200k as the deposit and get a BTL mortgage.

And you get hit with a high interest rate on the loan. You’ll be paying circa £480 per month interest only per £100k, so its not worth it.

Porte and Roche in the break and Van Garderen dropped is ideal for Froome, couldn’t be better. GC contenders will want to distance Van Garderen so they have a chance at a podium place so their teams will be pulling on the front, Porte and Roche can work in the break to keep the tempo high and are well placed if the peloton catches them.

This typical last 4 – 5 hours per evening, or until we go indoors. This has been going on everyday for the last 5 weeks, and I mean, everyday.

You spend 4-5 hours in the garden very single evening? Clearly you don’t live in the west of scotland 🙂

On a serious note I wouldn’t be calling the police. There’s clearly a problem with her so try the softly softly approach although if its dementia, and it does sound like it, then that won’t work.
