Nice, just got back from Mallorca a couple of weeks ago. Love the island.

But when you’re back at work, I’ll be going here for four weeks, then back out again in October.

Enjoy

Yeah, weird that the ad was pulled rather than just edited.

Possibly sold the frame elsewhere or struck a deal outwith eBay.

I don’t think this thread and the fact that’s its been pulled are remotely connected.

When I lived in Glasgow one of my neighbours had their house broken into. Thief stole a boiled ham from the fridge. That was it.

Depends on the frame I guess. Drop looks reasonably big on this, his scott was similar.

And would also look different once bars, wheels, etc fitted.

Anti-climax or what!

Seller reckons he’s had it 5 years which should mean it’s whatever cav was riding 2009-2010 right?

Does it say he bought it straight after the team finished with it? Maybe they didn’t get round to selling them for a couple of years, maybe someone else bought it straight from the team then he bought it off them.

Looks the same as the bikes high road used. C’mon what are we missing?

Firstly you have my sympathies for the bereavement. Its a tough time and reams of paperwork don’t make it any easier.

It takes a long time but it’s easy enough. We’ve just gone through it and it’s taken about three months and we’re just waiting for final sign off.

How complicated it is depends on your estate. In our case it was just cash as the house was in trust so easy enough. If you’re methodical, organsied and take the form one question at a time you’ll be fine.

You can swear the oath at a local solicitors rather than having to go to a probate office.

Get some cheap chinese carbon 38mm clinchers,(light bicycle for example) latex tubes (unless you descend big mountains) and decent tyres. I usually use vittoria open corsa cx on my ‘best’ bike but have recently switced to Schalbe One for a change – they’re very good.

The app I used doesn’t use data, GPRS only. However I am on 3 but Spain has just been added into the countries where the monthly allowance can be used.

need for driving not mtb to clarify.

I used navmii Spain on my iphone, its a free app but I don’t know if its available in android.

If I’m hiring a car now though I just get one with satnav as its much much better than using a phone.

If you have to have a Chinese, I recommend lemon chicken

Clearly you didn’t read the original post. I can’t stand lemon chicken.

Had king prawn satay, wife chose salt and chlli crispy chicken. It was amazing and I’m still alive and healthy.

It’s got cables not under bar tape cos it’s daft to buy a whole new groupset when 5600 10 speed still works perfectly.

I bought 10 speed 105 shifters for £60, would be worth that to get rid of the expanse of hideous green cables 🙂

This is my list so far, prawn crackers come as standard anyway.

King prawn satay
special curry – never had a chinese curry before
king prawn with chilli & garlic sauce

Son has chicken show mein no veg so that’s out.

Shredded beef or chicken is also a possible.

Soup and crispy duck are both great but not for me in takeway format

yang joe chow fan (Yangzhou fried fried rice, eggs, peas, sweat corn and rice)
ee ping buy joe (a bottle of rice wine)

The guy that wons the place is called Kenny, not Joe,

Organisation is the key, no question, I pride myself on being on my bike within 10 mins of my alarm going off. I have my clothes laid out in a pile, in the order I will put them on, I have my bike ready to go with bottles in the cages and I have my helmet sat next to my bike with the final bits I need. This means I rarely forget anything and I can have an extra 10 mins in bed.

I’m similar apart from the order of clothes thing, the bottles in cages as I prefer mine in the fridge, my bike helmet shoes are in the garage anyway. I prefer to get ready at a leisurely pace though, cuppa when I get up, or in bed if I wake up early, then breakfast and an espresso before I go.

But yeh organisation is key.

I quite fancy one of these Bridge Street Bags for winter commuting.

The days would be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I don’t like riding with a bag so try to avoid it at all costs.

How far is your commute each way? I carry a small rucksack a couple of days a week to swap clothes over and it doesn’t bother me.

In winter I generally use a rucksack every day as the weather can be so changeable.

It’s cheap, light, pretty and he won’t be able to do any gaming on it.

It’s more expensive than the air or pro, it is lighter and whats wrong with gaming?

I commute on the bike 20 miles each way, I just stick sandwiches in a sandwich bag in my back pocket or rucksack.

‘and for God’s sake don’t get into Buy To Let unless you want to lose the lot…’

explain please.

Expect the usual answer of govt going to kill anyone with buy to let properties, etc. Same old shite people have been spouting for years. As a sole source of future income then BTL isn’t the way to go but as part of an investment portfolio then it does work well.

I have 3 BTL’s around the country that make a good monthly return, the profit from them goes into my pension pot – win, win.

Currently on 3 reported to police as attempted murder each time and one formal complaint to Arriva buses.

Get a grip! I take it you have video evidence of these ‘attempted murders’?

Look on the referb pages on the apple site. Lots of laptops there and a reasonable saving plus they come with the same warranty as a new one.

I had a quick look but the savings aren’t great when you factor in the education discount.

Can anybody give me some perspective on just how much a growing lad who undertakes strenuous exercise ought to be eating as a matter of course?

Young lads eat a lot, my son is a 6’2″ beanpole and is constantly hungry. He has breakfast then asks ‘whats for lunch’. He doesn’t smack much though as he’s type 1 diabetic so any snacks he has are pretty much carb free.

I’m pretty sure 128gb will be enough storage. He uses spotify so won’t be storing music on it. He has an external drive on his mac so could back up to that anyway.

Is it just for taking notes in lectures or for more heavy duty stuff?

Notes, essays, presentations in terms of work so nothing too heavy. I’m torn between the 13″ MacBook air with 256gig storage or the 13″ MacBook pro with 128gig.

Weight wise there’s only 230g between the two and battery life is similar.

Budget? Surely that would dictate which Macbook he’ll get?

Not really, I’d rather get him the right tool for the job.

MacBook Air 13″ looks like the preferred option though.

Big cheap monitor and proper keyboard for a desk setup might be worth considering.

He’s got a mac at home, this would be for uni work whilst in uni. 15% discount sounds good.

Whats the discount like via Apple Education, I can get 6% discount directly with Apple through my employer or 7% discount on currys/pc world

Diet coke provides exactly the same insulin spike/crash profile using sweetners

No it doesn’t. My son is diabetic, has been advised diet coke is fine to drink and blood tests prove that.

I’d be interested to see where you got that info from as its nonsense.

I don’t drink coke, irn-bru etc at all. I used to but stopped in my early 20’s, not sure why really. I have ginger beer now and again and the only fizzy drinks I have are mixers.

If they came in matt black and the right size for one of my bikes I’d have a set.

Can’t do anything about the size, but…..

1? That’s all?

I’ve been using SKS chromoplastics for years on my commuter. In the past 2 years the quality has really deteriorated. They used to last years but now the metal fixing at the seat stay breaks, front guard cracks, rear guard cracks. I’ve been fitting them to the same bike for years and the difference is in the quality of the guards, not the fitting technique.

Switched to the pdw full metal guards now at £39 from triton, so much better than sks.

I was sick of the random pressures indicated by the track pump gauge

You need to get more important things to be sick of.

I was shocked

You’re over dramatising.

But to answer your question 30ish. But obviously that could be shockingly inaccurate.

You were going to replace a frame because you have a seized mudguard bolt?

Consumerism at its finest!
