Fair enough but that’s 15 miles of casual walking, lunch time walks, walk to the shops and doesn’t include long weekend walks. I would imagine that to the majority of the population 15 miles a week is a fair bit of walking.

What advice do you have for ‘breaking me in gently”.

Not built up to bare foot running specifically but I do a lot of walking, around 15 miles a week so I’m used to using my legs to get about.

Cheers sodajim but I’ve just bought some. Thanks for the kind offer though.

Smiff that’s pretty close to what I don’t want 😀

I had a look at the deda ones on wiggle so if they’re brand free and less shiny I’ll give them a go.

Thanks woody, not over thinking it I just know what I want.

Cheers rocketman, do they definately not have any branding? I know the pic doesn’t show any but might be something sneaky round the other side. 1.125 btw.

Easy enough, my agent charges me 9.5% and this is stated on their website. Phone up and ask “what’s you’re management fee’.

Possible stupid question from a new runner. I’ve just started running in merrell trail gloves and I’m very happy with them. Not sure if I should be wearing socks with them or not though. If I should do you have any recommendations.

First run in them on Sunday – 5.96miles in 50.01, way off being fast but any good for a newb?

Funnily enough I have exactly the same issues with an agent I use in Aberdeen. Unfortunately the property is too far away for me to manage myself.

You could be sneaky and speak to the tenant, I’m sure they would be happy to terminate their lease with the agent for a reduction in the monthly rent. My tenant has to give 3 months notice I think.

I have a 55 plate diesal. Good enough car but developed a couple of faults recently.

Boot not opening with key fob then would close – known fault and fixed under extended warranty for that part.
Seized brake calipers on the rear a couple of times and wears through discs
    Leaking steering rack
Abs faults, so vsa unit not working. Warranty issue but recall not sent out.
Alloy wheels rusting, already been replaced within 3 year warranty but new set rusting

Few rattles inside, door panels, rear cover.

So okay but still has its faults.

Nothing wrong with a Henry but I don’t want a cylinder vacuum as they are useless for pet hairs in my experience.

I understand completely where you’re coming from, pet hate of mine iPod for mp3 player, jeep for 4 wheel drive vehicle etc. yeh I should get out more too.

Looked at the Felixstowe but bag capacity quite small compared to others sebos. Think it’ll be the X1.1 or x4.

Pretty sure I’m going for a sebo, thanks for the replies.

ahwiles which vorwerk do you have and how much, site is a bit confusing. Does look a bit dyson style gimmicky though.

Henry isn’t an upright so I don’t want a Henry, no offence to the chap.

Henry is a cylinder so not even in the contest.

Dunno what you are doing wrong with your Dyson

Just standard use, they just don’t last.

Find that time very hard to believe, that’s 30 odd mph average speed. Is that not faster than TdF time trial pace?

Were there other times similar to that?

Just worked it out 30.9mph average speed against TdF prologue speeds of around 33mph obviously over a much shorter distance.

Personally, I’d like to see some sort of amnesty with those swatted given another chance. IMO, 10 years is too long, but a month or two is still a decent deterrent to being silly.

But how do bannings work? Can the banned user not just set up a new account with a different email address?

And as for returning after a two month ban, is it really that important to some people that they would count down the days until their return. I’d forget about it after a few weeks.

What the mods do need to remember when doing what I would consider ‘over moderation” is that loads of folk post on here whilst at work. They don’t always have time to think over their posts so at times they may come across the wrong way but unintentionally.

Regarding leaving the forum then I’m sure if there was a ‘close account” button the stats may be up. It’s not terribly easy to close your account, is it?

It’s both but we do get emails from people saying they’re leaving as they don’t find it a friendly place anymore, I can’t remember getting one from someone saying they were leaving as it over modded.

But people just stop posting rather than send an email to the mods ‘asking to leave’.

Off to the beach this weekend and the pub is miles away. Thought about taking the camelbak and put a few pints in it to chill in the cool box. I imagine it should work ok as proper beer isn’t full of bubbles. Any body tried it?

I presume when you buy this beer it comes in some form of container? Could you not just put said container in cool box. Or use old milk cartons if you must transfer beer into another container.

No it didn’t work with headphones. And not a MacBook and I read that ‘fix’ involving wx40 and a paperclip – high tech stuff eh 🙂

And besides, they’re pedals! The only time you’ll be looking at them is when the bike is in the garage/shed/car.

I’m not worried about me looking at them 😉

A friend of a friend asked i would ask around at the company I work for if they had any jobs going. His qualification was very similar to yours and he no work experience. Despite him trying to explain what he could actually offer I have no idea what his degree related to in the real world, neither did any of the colleagues I sent his cv to.

I can only advise you to be a lot less wooly about what you can offer.
