DrJ Aberdeen is pish when it comes to riding, youhave to go a long way to find good riding, plus its stupid expensive.

You clearly didn’t look in the right places, kirkhill is what, 20 minutes ride from the city centre.

my advice would be to live anywhere but there, it’s a crap hole and not worth living in.
I spent about six months there, hated it. the weather is crap, the food is balls, there is no nowhere descent to ride from the city, its grey miserable and rubbish.

I lived in Aberdeen city centres for a year and loved it, still got a property up there.

Didn’t rain very often, rode the mountain bike twice a week right from the door to some great trails and saying the food is rubbish is an very odd comment.

Don’t drive like the empty lane is the back straight at Snetterton and show courtesy before and after someone allows you to merge.

The problem is that’s generally the way I see these lanes being treated. There are two on my route home from work when I drive. M8 to m77 slip road and m77 at Newton mearns where it goes from 3 to 2 lanes. People hammer up the outside of the 3rd lane and just have to get in front of one more car then slam on their brakes as they’ve forced their way into a gap that’s too small. I generally sit in the inside lane And drive pass lane 2 and 3 chaos. I’m very surprised there aren’t accidents here on a daily basis.

As for the m8 to m77 merge I join on the inside so have no reason to move out. I let people in that I indicate in a timely manner. If some fanny doesn’t show intention of wanting in then why would I leave a gap for them? If indicating is too difficult for them then **** them, it’s not a difficult task.

When I say ‘maps’ I should have clarified that I meant using as satnav not for viewing them.

So for example using something like copilot or a GPS tracking app for running.

Re: corian etc I personally wouldn’t touch it. Yes its amazing how damage etc can be repaired but imho it marks too easily

With what – tea, coffee stains just clean off easily with cream cleaner. We have white tops and they’re spotless, much easier to clean than laminate.

I’ve got corian, had it for around 4 years now and looks as good as they day we had it fitted. Any stains come out with cream cleaner. Bloody expensive though, think ours cost about £6k but I’d definately recommend it.

edit: just read the post giving your budget, forget my recommendation.

No, just a sense of humour fail for the OP

Why is driving close enough to a cyclist to enable the passenger to give the cyclist a slap in any way amusing?

Honestly the attitudes from some ‘cyclists’ on this forum are shocking.

Well it was a couple of years ago but cash/chocolates/card would be appreciated. I’m still suffering the psychological affects so paper money only, no loose change.

I fell off a ladder once, we’ll not strictly true, the ladder slid down the wall with me holding on most of the way – ladder hit ground, I hit ladder at considerable speed. I have some big scars to show for that one.

I wasn’t cleaning the roof though as I get people in for cleaning jobs. As this chap has to do his own cleaning perhaps we should have a whip round.

Are you having a laugh? Whip round for middle class man with broken ankle or whatever it is – get a grip ffs.

    Give it to charity instead.

Don’t really understand why tesco and Asda feature so strongly and no mention of sainsburys. They’re just as bad

Tesco have the highest market share of just under 30%, asda next with around 17%, so I presume that’s why people say ‘I hate tesco’ above others. Pretty stupid really to just pick one supermarket as they all use the same practices – for pricing, planning, etc.

Not compatible with anything and the class has frequnt problems with theacher sanding word docs to the VLE to be completed and not a single child being able to open it

Umm pages opens word documents without any issues

Creating ‘word’ documents on an iPad isn’t an issue at all but much easier with a keyboard doc, excel type stuff is fine too – both using apple software. Presentations are okay too but given the choice I would rather do this type of work on a laptop or pc. iPad is great but for input stuff I’d choose a regular device.

I’ve still not seen you present the sources for your info, therefor I’m out.

Pebblebeach how can any source of information be discredited regardless of the validity of the information or ability of the information to be corroborated.

    But you’re discrediting mass media

What’s your information source? Simple enough question.

What the TV is reporting is just lies, yes the Syrian army will have killed civilians in the cross fire, however a lot of the reports and footage that is coming out of Syria of atrocities commited by the government is in fact being commited by the FSA.

As you have asked others can I ask for the source of your information please. Conspiracy theorists websites not acceptable as evidence.

When it’s just really cold and dry I still love my Pace Raceware Winteractive.

Yeh I’ve still got one of them and a great cosy jacket. Best jacket ever though is the rapha softshell, just the perfect cold weather jacket. Really can’t wait till its cold enough to wear it again.

£500 for a phone? Why, I could but a Dura Ace Di2 rear mech for that! Bargain.

It’s not all about ‘I’ve bought this so I can’t buy that’ you know, some of us can do both.

I expected more. Firstly picking it up was really underwhelming then the menu etc etc etc. I prefer the 4s. Slightly thicker but hey.

What do you mean by ‘the menu’ and what’s to prefer about the 4s?

I’ve got the 5, had the 4 before but it’s just a phone. If htc released a new phone would you post on a forum about it?

Bought some dhb ones the other day, wore them on a long ride on saturday and the pad was comfy enough but I didn’t find them very warm and the legs kept riding up and bunching behind my knees. Might be find for short fridges.

Really sorry to hear about your dad, I’m going through the same thing with my mum, it’s **** hard just waiting for her to die. She’s in a hospice now, had chemo last year, very bad reaction but she went through the full course and her response to treatment was very good. Fast forward a year and the cancer is back with a vengeance. She had one dose of chemo but couldn’t take any more. Side effects usually came on around 5-7 days after chemo, some people don’t get any side effects others do. If your dads strong and willing to fight then he’ll get through it. My mum couldn’t take any more unfortunately. My mum is in her 80s though so I guess there comes a time when there’s no point in fighting anymore.

And if at times over the next year you find yourself wishing it was all over and you could get on with your life , you’re not being selfish or hard hearted.

Good luck and I wish your dad all the best.

I got mine for £35 in jones sale – very pleased with that given that sale sticker said £42.50. I just went straight in no messing, no major aches or pain, calves a bit tight but that’s it. I can’t be doing with fannying about.
