Depends how much you want to spend. I’ve got avid short ultimates and they’re they best canti brakes I’ve used.

walk to the post office once a fortnight

I ordered a 6 month supply. Ordering a two weeks supply would be daft.

Nowt wrong with the coffee, just a pain getting buying new pods for it.

Ordered 250 pods on the nespresso site last week, took about 60 seconds.

Why not spend the money you would have wasted on a machine for yuppie **** on some proper coffee instead…

You said yuppy hahahahaha. Hello this is the 1990’s can we have our word back please.

I wouldn’t bother with refillable pods just but the real thing from those nasty chaps at nestle. The nespresso machine really does make very nice coffee with no fuss. And agree that the magimix froth is fantastic.

You can have fun though, my favourite trick is to casually collect the apparently abandoned trolley and move it into the next aisle

Do you leave your own trolley whilst you do this?

Why don’t those superior being on here complaining about how inept everyone else is at going to the supermarket shop online? It’s the modern way, if you were as intelligent and organised as you appear to be then that’s what you shod be doing. Only idiots still go to physical stores to do their weekly shopping.

Because they don’t have the huge mark up on them that others brands apply to their jeans made in the same sweat shop as the tesco ones.

Decent gloves, socks, boots and I’ve found marmot power stretch cuffs make a big difference.

I haven’t found pacey riding or not to make a difference to hands and feet.

How many months did they wait 🙂

To andynaismith, huge thanks for interpreting what I was trying to put across. It seems some people dont want to here the truth or did I just state the obvious

But you’re not stating the obvious at all nor are you telling the truth. I was also brought up on a Glasgow housing scheme so that shit doesn’t wash with me.

Like it or not there are some violent people about in many areas of Glasgow.

As you find in any large town and city.

Hurricanes? Do you mean when it was a wee bit windy? Pretty normal for the west coast of Scotland in winter IME.

To be fair there were a couple of days it was a tad windier than usual, however the OlP fleas come across as something of a frame queen. At 50 years old you should know better.

Another weekly Cathkin braes and pollock park rider here and never had any issues in many years riding both, on day and night rides.

OP talking shite, no idea what his angle is.

Yeh I did see the other version on their site, looks a bit clunky.

It’s not so much about loosing weight, more about maintaining my current weight. And hey I just love stats and objects interacting with my phone 🙂

irvine is fine, kilmarnock is . . bizarre, some parts are really nice, others are total shitholes, dont forget that ‘the scheme’ was filmed there.

Umm so you’re saying Irvine is all nice then? It’s not, it’s a dump.

Newmills is a major shithole – avoid

There’s not many shops in Kilmaurs and Stewarton is a small verion of Kilmarnock, just more neds in a smaller town centre.

Meant to say that Fenwick is quite a nice wee village too, couple of decent hotels/pubs. Some new houses being built too if thats what you’re after. Sorne also very nice.

Avoid the following – galston, newmills, darvel, tarbolton, mauchline, patna, dalsmellington, to name a few – all old mining/mill towns that have had the life torn out of them and they’re just shiholes now.

Kilmarnock isn’t nearly as bad as its being made out to be, people are very friendly generally, easy access to the countryside, cinema, gyms, nice restaurants, coffee shops, lovely country park.

Do you fancy a city move? It’s a doddle getting from Glasgow to Kilmarnock by car or train (you’d be heading in the right direction too) You’d lose the ability to commute by bike though.

Whilst I certainly wouldn’t recommend moving to Glasgow if your job is in Kilmarnock you certainly wouldn’t lose the ability to commute by bike. There’s a cycle path just about all the way between the two.

Symington, dundonald, preswick, Troon are all okay. West Kilbride and fair lie nice too. If your budget wi stretch to it have a look at eaglesham

As a non car driver and having to share narrow rural roads with 4×4 the majority of which are driven by people who will not move on to the grass verge in case they get mud on there car and therefore will never need it off road, then all I can say to you is NOB HEAD………But then I am biased!!

Jesus, have you any idea how you come across.

Some of the comments on here are priceless, there really are some very irrational immature people on here.

7 year old BMW is going to start to cost you though at some point soon so be prepared for that, have you looked at the cost of tyres for example? If its your daily car then trips go the petrol station are going to start to really piss you off. As the owner of a vehicle with a 4.8l v8 engine there is no way I’d want to be putting big miles on it.

How the hell can I respect someone who, a) I don’t know, and b) is holding me up while I’m trying to go about my daily work!

Whilst I’m sure you’re more important than most people on the road it’s not about respect for the person, its respect for the occasion.

He he I love commonly mis-spelled words.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen hearse with that spelling.

Depends on the situation I guess but those in the hearse certainly aren’t thinking about what people in the outside world are doing and neither are those in the following cars.

TBH by good coffee and a caffetiere (?) and you will get better coffee than either and you are not tied to a lifestyle product

I have a basic nespresso and a milk frother and the coffee is very good, much nicer than Cafetiere and very easy to use and get great results. Again I’m not a coffee snob but anyone I’ve given a coffee to has really enjoyed it. Very easy to make latte, cappuccino, etc.

Seems a very off set up to me

    Why?

If you worked from home you could still have a bike ride.

    pebblebeach

Basically everything will stiffen up, chain, gears, etc. But if you’re not riding it then it won’t do any long term harm.

Riding is different though. Coldest I’ve ridden in is -12 and you start to get icicles forming on the stem, moisture from frost/snow freezes on the chain, cassette, etc but if you keep on rollin you’ll be fine. Although if you’re starting with a frozen bike it won’t be so good.

Casteli is expensive kit, but very very good. It is less expensive than rapha/assos and similar to gore pricing.

Castelli sorpasso but as above no cheaper than assos and rapha, which are both excellent. Gore also coming in at a similar price.

I have a shutt vr yersey, its all right, nothing extra special.

Bought a pair of aldi gloves a couple of weeks ago for £3.99 and I have to say I’m shocked at how good they are. -2 degrees this morni ng and my hands were nice and warm, although I did have a pair of Marmot Powerstretch wrist gaitors on too. I do suffer from cold hands, mild Raynauds in my right hand so expected numb hands this morning, but no issues at all. Had the temperature been any lower I think they would have been out of their depth but they have performed far beyond expectation. They do also appear to be reasobably waterproof.

For £4 they are far better and less bulky than other lots more expensive gloves I’ve tried.

    bold play by endura then…

Hope they’ve sorted out the issue with their zips then! Any endura item I’ve owned has had an issue with the zips, either breaking on overshoes or jamming on jackets or gilets.

    Umm use rechargeable batteries

At least I have an excuse for being what you call ‘miserable’ though and I won’t always be. Those of you fretting about not being waved back at will always be immature.

    Cos I knew that didn’t I………

Nice time for a bit of sarcasm btw.

Did I say I don’t give a sign of recognition to other cyclists? I generally do but I couldn’t give a flying **** if they nod back or not.
