Much appreciated. Not holding out much hope though. Font wheel is not original and was replaced if that helps identification. They did leave his helmet.

My two sons are 13 and 16 and both around 5ft 9. We went on holiday this year in it with 4 bikes on the roof but will be the last time as it was a bit of a squeeze.

If your kids are under 10, it will be fine for a few years.

Not got the T5 version but have had a 61 reg 2.0 petrol R Design model from new. It does around 38mpg combined and is very well put together.
T5 has six speed gear box and will do around 30-32mpg.

If the price is right, I would go for it.

Got a near new old stock 1999 49 cm Kona Kapu frame fork, brand new FSA Orbit X headset and Ultegra 6700 double front mech available for £200.

Would build into a real nice road bike.

Went in February 2010 with kids. Prepare for a long flight.

I would advise taking American dollars as these were taken just about anywhere and it is easier to calculate how much you are spending or being ripped off. Baggage handlers will take advantage if you are not familiar with the currency. Get your visa sorted before the airport at Bali as there was long wait otherwise (2-2.5 hours).

Be prepared for very persisting water sports attentants and masseurs on most beaches.

Just returned from Ambleside yesterday. Nice ride around from there to Wray Castle and across the ferry to Windermere.

Ambleside to Troutbeck was a nice route.

Can also recommend Whinlatter near Keswick and the Borrowdale Bash route.

If you are in to road biking, there is also some very nice road bikes in Wheelbase including an all Disc brake Colagno for 10k (one of only 5 in the UK apparently) and a red Colagno Master full build for 4k.

Push bikes in Ambleside also have a very nice Baum frame and fork for 4k ish – very tempted.

Having the same issue with my lad who is 12 on Friday – he wants my 18″ 2002 Kona Explosif though being 5ft 9″.

I have a 14″ 2002 Kona Explosif that he has outgrown if that is any good

Failing that Winstanleys have a 15.5″ Cove at a good price.

If anyone is looking for one of these and missed the opportunity to purchase, I have one available which was used once. Bought from Wiggle but it cost a lot more than £25 (I have the original receipt to validate this).

However, yours for £25 + post at cost.

If the headset is 1 1/8″, I have a brand new old stock Kona headset to fit the bike and make it like new.

Muni Mula was brought out in 1995 so should be 1 1/8″ size.

    If interested, e-mail me @ robin.stones@tesco.net

In my experience you usually get a follow up call from Kwik Fit in a few days.

Took my car in for a for a puncture repair last year due to lack of time and alternatives.

After fixing it the trainee who looked about 12 drove my car like he had just stolen it back to the customer car park in full view of the waiting area.

    Never again

    Somafunk,

There is a mint as new 17″ Litespeed version on the bay for £700.

I bought it from Winstanleys and subsequently sold it as new because I thought it was too small for me.

    pebble
    Free Member

I would say the 18″ would be better. Mine is the older Litespeed version though not the Lynskey. I am around 5ft 11″ and sold a 17″ which I thought would be too small which is currently on Ebay at a good price of £700.

Silverfish said the 17″ would be ok up to 5 ft 10″.

I can’t recommend the Ebay seller enough if your tempted and the frame is mint- as good as new.

There have been a lot of problems with the Lynskey versions snapping also.

    Qwerty,

The Honda Izy (Model HRG415 PDE) was £315 – £75 cash back from Honda = £260 from Campbells of Malton (01653) 695129. Other Honda dealers should be able to match the price.

As Sweepy says, the Honda IZY is your best option with good reviews on Which and the £75 cash back in the form of a cheque when you return the receipt of payment.

I can now cut my lawn for less then a full car tank of petrol the old lawn mower went through.

Out of interest, did you look into the cost of the alteration by a Ti specialist as I was considering this route although after contacting Cove they stated the warranty would be void if done.

What are you looking for. If it is retro Kona may be able to help?

    Slackalice,

It depends which chainset you are running. I am always about 10 years behind in groupset terms so the Hummer I have for sale is fitted with a Shimano M751 Chainset with BCD of 104 which is also obtainable by Race Face (Prodigy chainset). To get a 50mm chainline with this chainset I needed a 118mm axle length XT bottom bracket which is fitted to the bike.

To prevent any damage by chainsuck,I was going to fit some large tie wraps on the chainstay or an old inner tube. If both the correct chainrings and bootom bracket are fitted I can’t see a problem with the older Litespeed frames.

Some users have had big problems with chainsuck on the Litespeed frame, some have never had a problem.

I e-mailed Cove about this and this is there response:-

I found as long as the chain line was at 50mm things tended to function properly. Now, Raceface chainrings seem to be the culprit with the Hummer chainsuck problems I have dealt with in the past. As soon as I changed the middle ring to a Shimano things were golden. The Raceface rings seem to have way more pick-ups and pins on the middle ring, combine that with some mud and suck goes the chain
