I brought one and stripped it,sold the parts and built this 😀
just under 30lbs in XL ,1st ride today so early days ,but love the way it pedals with the DT swiss shock fitted
No annual fee/subscription and £99 fitted when an engineer is in your house(if say they were servicing your boiler or you have a breakdown contract) whats not to like 🙂
Had my 1.9tdi for 5 years and the only problem has been the abs sensor light on so i sent a couple of letters to uk md and problem was done free of charge ,it is great a carrying bikes, diy materials, rubbish and regularly does 50 mpg i would buy another one maybe the 2ltr sport 😀
Thanks for replies the stumpy does get some good reviews and at about £2300 with a bit of haggling a fair price ,fancy building up the new horsethief but £1400 frame only is a bit steep 😯
I have just tried a camber evo and i was expecting the bike to stall in thick mud but no it just kept rolling ,found the low bb a bit of getting used to,have got the stumpy evo to test on saturday cant wait 😀 also i am 6 6″ so it makes sense
I am running a set of crossmax st (2011 front 2012 rear) weighing in at 110 kg 😯 without kit no problems at afan, lakes aston hill etc way better than my pro2 on mavic en321 rims
If it was mine i would not spend any more money on it ,put it towards a new one .the six big energy companies are being forced to give free boilers/insulation to people receiving certain benefits/tax credits might be worth a look at 🙂
I had to buy the risse racing adapter for my crossmax done the job but cost nearly £50 posted ,if your rim stickers are in white writing(2011) you can only fit the risse adapter ,if the writing is in silver(2012) you can fit the newer adapters shown above
I believe xt = pg1070 slx = pg1050
I found the shifting was better on the xt cassette(tried pg 1070) when running it with x9 type 2 rear mech and cheaper to buy, hope this helps
My 15 yr old son rid down garburn pass last Friday on one of the hire bikes from wheelbase ,mechanical brakes and forks pishing oil ,he is so better than me
