    Just don’t do what I did recently…

Drive to the start of my ride, go for a lovely ride. Arrive back home. Panic because the car isn’t there…. then remember that you left it somewhere else

    Yes :(

First bit down from the bridge hasn’t been done yet but maybe from half way to the archers stone (from the bridge) all the way to Inverlaidnan at least :( I loved that bit!

Speaking of the Burma road – the carrbridge end has been/is being sanitised into billiard table smooth track :(

Did you get in touch with frog bikes?

Teva crank jr shoes go down to 8uk or even smaller. Have to get them from the us but they are still a lot cheaper than five tens

Yeah, 16 year old rides Fort bIll downhill so will pretty much throw himself at anything. 9 year old happily rides the Laggan reds etc. I will ride with the wee one – he loves the jump park and the blue down.

I will need to double check we can come – how far in advance do you need to know?

No chance of that – home is 2.5 hour drive away :D

Would the almost 5 year old be old enough to join in – no gears yet so I need to push him up the hill, but he is very capable on the down.

Hey sounds good! We will certainly think about coming – though there is only one of me and 3 kids so not sure how I can accompany them all. Mind you one is 16, so not really a kid.

Sorry, just meant that my son’s bike has the JL350 levers on 22.2 bars. We got them from Frog bikes.

We have the JL350 on 22.2 if that helps

Pretty sure it is Tektro JL350 you need btw

**edit sorry cross posted. The ones I got from Frog are Tektro JL350 and are perfect

If none of the above options work try Frog bikes. Very lovely and helpful at Frog.

Or couldn’t you just say to Islabike that you need to replace the v-brakes on an Islabike? (I know lying is bad :( )

unfortunately I push from the right hand side when walking

Told you I was talking rubbish  Apparently it is a Joe Barnes tip…

Might sound stupid, but when you push your bike do you stand on the left or right. If it is the left, then try pushing standing on the driveside more often.

If you already push on the right I’m talking bollocks.

Went for Endomondo for no better reason than I have heard of it.

Now I can see exactly how fast my 4 year old is down the Laggan Orange…there should be a category for under fives

Thanks. I will have a look at all these – just realised no real reason for it to be Strava. Not really aiming for QOM or anything.

Mine is only 103cm tall. Tiny compared to yours even though iirc they are about the same age?

My son really needs this bike.[/url]

How tall is he? We are still stuck in that “can ride 20″ but it is far too big and can’t throw it around like a 16″ zone”

What made you go for the Kotori instead of the Savage?

I’m hoping Spawn will sell in the Uk soon and and also their 20″ full sus will be out :D

Very very nice. Does he still ride the 16″ Scott Nitrous?

Be careful of the size for a just 2 year old – some can be a bit big. A normal bike with pedals off would be far too big.

You do get your money’s worth out if them – my youngest learnt to ride a pedal bike 3 months after he got his balance bike. More than 3 years after he got his balance bike he is now coming up 5 and still rides it often. It is a trick/stunt bike 8)

At least at 24″ size we now have a much bigger choice – including full sus bikes that can be pedalled uphill.

It would be good if that now trickles down to 20″ wheels. What I really need is a quality 18″ wheel hardtail with gears and disc brakes.

I’ve just remembered a while ago I saw a custom kids 20″ downhill bike for sale somewhere. Was about £500. Can’t find it but found a 24″ wheel Specialized Hotrock FSR frame for £60 on pinkbike!

EDIT: Found it https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1024996857516219&set=gm.1609887942573164&type=1&theater. Wonder if they still have it?

Propain Frechdax? How does it compare pricewise?

    peabrain

We were lucky enough to buy a 24″ Hotrock that the previous owner had converted to disc brakes and trigger shifters. I added a Spinner Air fork.

He is on small 26″ inch now. If I had to do it again I would probably build a 24″ bike with an extra small 26″ frame.

I don’t agree that the new Green XC descent (Cat’s eyes) is best for people towing trailers. It is certainly not smooth. You wouldn’t want to take a young child on it unless they were fully in control of their brakes! Compared to other places we have been (all Scotland) the green is more blueish and the Blue Adder is reddish in places.

Both really short compared to the long slog up (especially for wee ones) or the cost of the uplift

    He is amazing.

Though I would never limit myself to one video of a kid on a bike per day :D

Luckily it is still usable – should maybe get someone to look at it before it breaks, I wonder if it is salvageable…

Thanks for the tips. CRC are v expensive for dope stuff atm

He does say that non-dope dropouts would be acceptable. Might try a machinist. Off to look at paligap – never heard of it.
