I don’t think it is a tick either.

    Ducking birch indeed!

That really wasn’t very nice, far better ways to get her point across.

    True i suppose, Marcus!

Yes l loads of overripe do show down for the cameras. I always wonder of they think that average is the average of the speed they go through each camera at..?

Especially annoying on the a9 where loads of cars slow down to 50…

Depends on the age of the kids-have to be 10 to do the red from the gondola. And maybe 12? for glencoe unless part of a coaching session. My 9 yearold loved the Glencoe red.

The world champs xc stuff at Nevis range is apparently really good.

It was filmed in August :D It is spring now and definitely not that green!

We were right there watching when he finally did that rail outside the police station!

To use a mooncup. And keep a whole set of bedding inside a pillow case so no faffing about trying to find matching duvet, pillowcases, sheet etc

Oh hang on that was Mumsnet…

That’s awesome. I bought some forks from here for my sons bike and the lovely guy also have him loafs of parts free. Some nice folk here!

Don’t think it comes with many attachments but you can buy extra. I think people attach them to their seatpost facing forward.

20″ ridgeback is a decent bike too – my son did the Glenlivet red on one age 7 and it lived to tell the tale!

Early rider do a 20″ belt drive looks awesome.

The basic go pro hero is less than £100.

How tall is he? Most 6 year olds are big enough for 20″ wheels. Scott voltage 20″ is a cool wee bike but much heavier than frog, Isla etc

We have one with no net for 3+ years. At first we tried to be strict about numbers but then couldn’t be aresrd – always have piles of kids on the garden. Kids were 6 and 2 when we got it and no serious accidents – a fair few clatters but that’s it.

Amateur! My youngest had 5 bikes before he was 3…:D

This poor neglected son only has 4 bikes (including too big bmx and trials bike given to him that needs a lot of work)

He hasn’t tried it at the dirt jumps yet as they are still shut after the winter. Maybe I should just let him get on with it.

    Unless I see a super cheap 18″ of course…

I’m with scotroutes – 12 degrees!? We had days colder than that in July last “summer”.

Yes the smallest Puky (LRM?) is brilliant. It isn’t just a normal size balance bike with little wheels – everything on it is tiny.

Round here everyone knows everyone anyway so you do drive down the street waving at everyone.

Thanks, the intrigue looks nice. Norco do a good range of sizes in the fluid!

I’ll need to measure him. He rides a 13″ trek hardtail and a 24″ wheel norco b-line. It is the norco we are looking to replace as it is almost as old as he is and very heavy. He rides stuff like the Glencoe red and has done the bottom of the fort bill wc dh – to young to get the gondola!

He is really getting into downhill but needs to be something he can ride up hills, or at least push.

Thank you so much for all these suggestions. Kona process looks like a good bet. A used orange five diva would be an idea!

Thank you. Sorry was deliberately vague as I wanted to see a broad spectrum of bikes.

These are all good. It is for a growing boy but that doesn’t rule out a ladies bike.

    Frame only is another option.

There used to be Aonach poma too I think.

However conditions up to yesterday have been superb up cairngorm. All uplift is open so even when there are loads of people on the hill it doesn’t feel busy. Apart from cafes at peak times I presume but that can be avoided.

Very warm up there now and windy too so hope the snow lasts…

My son recently put his hand right through the glass in a door. So lucky to only cut the back of his arm above his elbow – needed 5 stitches. Does bear to think how bad it would have been if he had cut the inside of his elbow…

My fridge freezer is at least 18 I think. Parents microwave is older.

I had a tumble dryer that was at least 25 years old and it was still working when I replaced it with a new one that only lasted a couple of years…

There is a specific hormone that the body needs to produce before a child can be dry at night – I think it slows down urine production.

Andyfla – we have 9 year old with the same problem. Medication is working wonders!

I can confirm everything is open apart from the green and the bottom of the lower red – the bit before you reach the forest track. We didn’t do it but apparently you can still do most of the lower red then cut across to the land rover track (the up) and then go down the orange.

Thanks. Forgot it’s been windy again! It’s probably only really the Orange that needs to be open as I’m going with small kids.
