My seat post is Thomson Elite 31.6X367mm Black
    Reverb is 420mm.
    Difference is 53mm.

Off to check if I have an extra 50 odd mm of room in the tube. Guess I need 60mm to be safe.

Ofc it will fit I have 175mm sticking out the top so extra 50mm is nothing! Off to buy!

TY EJ. Only in 420mm length. My current post is 360mm. Think it will be too long?

I have quick release and a Thompson seat post all worn from use. Not worried about a few scratches you should see the Zesty 714 :S

got it – didnt know Rose bikes had a online shop TY
Also looked in US – they seem even cheaper there https://www.jensonusa.com emailed em to see if they have stock.

I’m convinced after the W2 level with laps of the wall that seat post up for climbing is good but bad when you want to descend and switch backs!

Because narrow-minded people can’t see beyond materialism in the formation of their judgement of others…?

    Typical middle class twaddle.

When I was down on my luck I spent my money on paying the bills and feeding the 3 kids I didnt have money for ps3 or flat screen tv so why should they have at my expense? Its not judgmental its about fairness in society. Too many middle class righteous liberal bleeding hearts.

Its our taxes we have every right to ask the state to check that our money is being spent in the most efficient way and goes to those who need it most. If you have a ps3 and sat TV and 50″ screen and your not working you have way more than me and I have worked all my life and paid all my taxes. Clearly those are essentials I will have to choose drugs, get obese or claim I have a bad back!

73kg run Ardent at 20psi and Crossmax on rear 23psi.

I think you need to experiment to see what suits your riding style and where you ride. I think the tyre makes a difference as well. Maxxis seem to be a very good UST tyre. I dont run any other make now.

Really enjoyed the event. To those that threw their sports bar and jell wrappers on the trail – thanks – not

RP why is it her decision to make? He’s the father he has the right to see his daughter and spend time with her. She wont even discuss it. How can you obtain agreement when one side fails to mediate? You both think a woman has sole ownership and discretion of a child’s up bringing. I have been there. It wasnt until a solicitor got involved that my x was able to get around to agreeing anything. She saws things in a different light then. Took 10 minutes to sort everything out over a coffee at a motorway service station. But why did it take recourse to the law? No idea. But I think she had a brief from her lawyer and she saw that I had rights and I wasnt going to let them go. Stand up for yourself.

sorry dont agree. your daughter has the rest of her life and what guarantees do you have that access will be granted at 1? I think the advice has been pretty consistent. this will go one of two ways. either get legal help and advice and access or become a doormat. you choose.

keep your cool, go to law 😉 also revenge is a desert best served cold. dont mention anything about what your doing. just do it 1st thing tomorrow. ok revenge is the wrong word but in all these cases its best left to the 3rd parties to sort out.

yes women are unreasonable when it comes to the links with their children. i often think its because their afraid that you can have a better relationship with your children than them. from my own experience i did not leave the house. i had every right to be there with my children. she moved out and we found out later it was to new boy friends place. they are now married. enough said. children stayed with me.

i maybe bias but you both have the right to access to your children neither partner can obstruct a reasonable request. whats being one got to do with anything?

Trails are there to be ridden, life’s too short. Too much twaddle being talked about mending trails. Little bit of erosion? Just natures way of improving the trail.

Buzz thats right. Mine comes with full OS mapping from Birmingham down for £45 so its also a lot cheaper than buying maps. I am ML qualified, orienteer, mountain marathon so can read a map thanks 😉

My experience is the same as OW – gets you out to new areas to explore. Yes wouldnt recommend looking intently at your GPS on any decent descent ha ha

Think it gives you more confidence to go to new areas and trails and ride them. You know where your going and you get more bang for your buck while your in the area without endless faffing. BTW if you do any road touring they are a god send. No longer looking at maps in the rain or dark and stopping every turning or junction. I used mine in Spain and France and it really made the holiday more enjoyable. Why wouldn’t you use a GPS for say Sarn Helen or Black mountain routes? If I have a mechanical or something goes wrong I can find the quick way to safety.

Seems that when something gets closed its closed for a very long time (good). Parts of skyline etc have been out for a year. No work has taken place in a year. Last April they closed penhydd. Its still closed. They dont hurry. The diversion on skyline is a joke. Signage are bits of a4 now mostly blown. Lets be honest the dont give a F++ck for the mountain bike riders. We are just a necessary evil. Really bad (non existent) management.

I was always happy to pay a bit extra on car parking charge etc for trail refurbishment. or even a day pass. I bought FoD all year car parking pass to put a bit back in the business and I always buy and shop on site.

Dust at Afan shocker – going tomorrow 😀 TBH even if its wet it dosent make any difference IMHO only boggy section is that open moorland bit on W2. Why they dont invest in the trails I dont know. Overal Afan like Cwncarn is showing a lot of wear. Could be draggy on skyline but thats not worth doing these days with diversions and closures.

I pat and slap the Maxxis tyres and they go on first time with track pump. This really helps to seat them before you pump. My rims are UST so no tape I think thats what may cause some issues.

I have found that Maxxis LUST tyres fir really well. No issues. TBH they work so well I only use Maxxis now.

Shimano 775’s set seem cheap and good value with Maxxis LUST perfect in 18 months of use. Very good fit. Never needed a compressor track pump and dry. I blow em up to fit, then let them down and add stans no flat latex, two good spoons and a bit for luck. Change every 6 months – perfect.

Take short cuts, pay the price.

routes only work on road with right mapping like OS. Like a car satnav very handy if you do a lot on the road. In garmin setup map orientation as ‘automotive’ very handy.

Got them front and rear for trans alp. 2.25 LUST versions. Roll well at trail centre and adjusting the pressures helps

Use Maxxis tyres and XT rims, perfect for 18 months no puncture riding. Brecon beast, marin rough ride bike fest, spain etc etc. I ride most weekends trail centres and Wales off piste. I carry a tubeless repair kit but no tubes. Not experienced any punctures in 18 months since switching. I use two good cups of stans and renew it every 6 months. Change tyres once a year dont run specific winter summer, no need with tubeless. Would not go back to tubes. Roll fantastic at low pressures. In wet I run 20psi and 25psi in dry. My final tip, dont cut corners and ignore the nay sayers and give it a try.
