A well designed bike, made by hand or machines with good quality control is what is important. Who cares where it’s made. The it’s made in Halfax by hand so it must be good and one made by robots in Tiawan is crap is clearly bolloc£s statement about the real quality of a particular bike.

The investment seems aimed at more blue trails than singletrack to attract more people to mtb. Good idea but let’s not fogrget the dedicated mtb riders need some more trails to. Afan W2 level still provides a good trail. IMHO worn out trails provide more challenging rides than groomed singletrack. Something that Bristol Ashton court will lose from the planned improvements there.

W2 level was fully open, some short term closures in week for tree felling. Skyline had one closure and the diversion which dosent cut out tha much. Dry fast and fun as always.

52 broken femur twice, clavicle once. My advice? Just keep going. Legs and shoulder aren’t 100% but I’m heading to trans alp this year. Make sure you go to physio and do as
much of your own fitness as you feel able. Early physio and fit ess will pay off.

That’s very forward of you? 🙂 Yes I agree about experience and he’s getting told a load of porkies by the bike shop. As an experienced ride a long cockpit makes sense. But not starting out. So much for experienced bike shops with unbiased advice wanting to shift bikes.

I think like the stumpy the O5 needs to evolve using the new materials. It was saved from the dustbin of history by the revolution in shock technology.

The weight is an issue. No one will convince me that a heavier bike is better for the trails. The new bench mark is 25lbs. Way ahead is carbon. Orange needs to move forward or it will die like so many British firms.

Great tyre on 2.25 ust. Dry only.

You will be getting a great bike which ever you choose. When I change my Zesty it will be for a newer model, fits me like a glove.

If you riding involves up hill then zesty is the way to go

As Aditude hasn’t ridden mtb except for a hire bike I think advising him to get out and ride would be more appropriate than discussing the differences between zesty and spicy? Suggesting future upgrades equally pointless as he has no experience to judge the merits of the advice. Sorry not flaming you but you are trying to run before you can walk. Why not a full on downhill bike?

    Could have had a zesty

Maybe get used to MTB first before upgrades. You learn on the way what and how you like to ride. Zesty wil be plenty of bike for you. I think everyone would agree that its 90% rider 10% bike.

If you start fitting 160mm forks to 145mm travel bike you will bork it’s handling. From you comments I suggest you start with zesty and work up. What bike do you ride now?

    Pawsy_Bear

Ride solo. If I want a chilled ride I ride with others.

Got a Zesty 714 so I may be bias. I don’t see that an extra few mm of travel is worth the extra weight. I don’t think you will be disapointed with ethier. Both great bikes Zesty is more trail endure am bike. Depends on what you like to ride. Make sure u get a rs reverb to go with them.

Reverb. Quality product. Any height on the fly. Great speed action that’s 100% adjustable. Buy from Rose bike. Cheaper than CRC.

Tip for reverb is to buy RH control and mount under bar on left. Mines beside front mech control. Thumb can easy reach and feels same as changing front mech gear.

+1 same as BWD I wasn’t convinced but now I’m converted. Being able to adjust the seat on the fly is a real improvement if you enjoy the ups as well as the downs. Got mine from Rose bikes. Excellent service and quick. Perfect for enduro and trail centres.

you can trim the bit off after you repair with one of the sticky cord things.

arrived and fitted works right of the box and after a quick ride can say being able to change the seat height on the fly is brilliant. Comes with all the bits. Excellent service from Rose bikes, they even included energy sweets and a bowl 🙂

If I use gels I tend use a very light mix of hydration powder in my water otherwise you can become dehydrated very quickly.
