Get rid of everything roasted, water on training not SIS and sweets. Make your own power bars. Sausages aren’t healthy. White chicken turkey is better.

Apart from diet I added some quality to your training. Your doing a lot of the same. Add different amounts and effort. Should be some interval training. I add a couple sessions in the gym for overall conditioning and a session of hard lengths in the pool. If you want to go up hill faster then where is the hill interval session?

Your body has got used to the same old training regime.

Zesty is a great climber and descender, I found it a bike for everything I needed from CX to Val Nord.

Was a new brand at cycle show with road and MTB shaft drive bikes. Had a look I can see a few benefits. Needs a long term test. They looked good and service free. Can’t remember the name

Why not demo or hire a bike with 2 x 10 or 1 x 11 set up and then make your mind up? You might be surprised by the benefits. Brand loyalty is fine as long as it doesn’t hinder progress.

TBH I found that I gained more useful ratios to keep spinning along with less gear changes.

Had One for 4 plus years. Two settings on the leaver allows two settings. The firmer one is not a lock out more climb assist. The red nob sets how fast it rebounds. You should set the air pressure to get two distinct rides. I’m 75kg and use 130psi. Start with the red knob fully open then add a couple clicks. Test and adjust on the trail. If your not feeling any difference I’d suggest you have too high a pressure.

It’s change, it’s the one constant.any worthwhile job will include change and if it keeps the business healthy and profitable then it’s to be welcomed. A business that isn’t pushing forward is moribund and ultimately doomed.

Do I need to change the bottom bracket?

    Pawsy_Bear

I can do most things but wondered about how to set up the bottom bracket? I can remove my crank arms and axle. My front mech fits on a bracket (Zesty) so not sure how to remove it?

Inoculation ends up in the food chain something I think we would want to avoid as the long term affects are unknown

You need it set in automotive mode and be following a route

    Pawsy_Bear

Use Base camp the freebie software DL to make the routes and tracks. Its actually very good.

Routes are on road only you a get the car type gps turns etc very good
Use tracks for off road – useful crumb trail type display on OS map

It will calculate the route back depending on your settings. I (and most others) turn it off because we ont want it to auto calculate a new route if we miss the turning.

If you want a get me home function. Just create a Point Of interest (POI) your home and then tell it to navigate to it based on your settings such as shortest route etc

    or

    Menu
    where to go
    Back to start

this will use your current activity to take you back to the start

Lots of ways of doing it. Best bit of advice is just keep using it it becomes second nature after a bit

I’m 5’8″ short legs. I rode a SC Bronson large which comes up similar to medium Zesty. The large Bronson reach was still shorter than Zesty medium! Bronson felt very much like my 2010 medium Zesty reach wise

    Pawsy_Bear

I’m thinking of Zesty 727AM but thinking I might try small rather than medium. There a lot longer reach than SC. Any view on rear triangle width, seen a few comments on pre production models was too wide?

Maxxis HR front and Ardent rear bobby nics aren’t tough enough for 150mm AM bike. Paper side walls. Enve carbon rims on DT?

I think they knew about the bikes somehow, either following or club forum, facebook? Shand is a stand out bike.

Happened here at Bristol MBC. Advertised only on the club forum that there was a skills weekend with Clive Forth who was staying with club president the sat night. I went to the demo day on the sat. That night they stole all there bikes from the club presidents house while the slept. Coincidence? No.

My point is they get their info from somewhere

They obviously found out there was something worth taking. Question is how? Ive come to think that all the security measures are worth zero compared to keeping your bikes location anonymous. Its too much of a coincidence to think they came to his garage on the off chance of finding something worth nicking. Im gutted at his loss but think like a lot of these organized bike thefts a radical rethink is required?

Got over taken in the FoD by a eMTB. No issues flew past effortlessly. Can’t see any issues you ride what you want how you want

one other option not mentioned is hard regular physical exercise. A well known anti depressant, cheap and effective. Helps you sleep as well and improves your riding.

I’d second and third the try a demo before you go spending your money. Took one out for day and half at Afan. also have a demo on a Zesty lined up. Going back to try solo as well. Then I will decide. No rush

Seriously considering Bronson to replace Zesty after demo ride. I’m put off the 2014 Zesty by the wide rear end. I haven’t demo ridden a new one yet.

I think instead of talking to guy I shop I would demo the bike and make my own mind up. You may be surprised by what you find.
