why not just down load the free base camp software work great?

In garmin connect plan – courses – look left side ‘create route’

click a point – then another it auto routes between them

    check stay on road

    base camp is better

you can create a route on base camp with just a few points. The software then fills in the auto route for you. You can add drag as you want. Route should take 5 mins tops. 1:50k OS maps will show up on your computer screen its pretty simple once you know how

base camp uses the OS map on your garmin. You should try it works better than the online stuff IMHO

The answers easy, buy the bike that you like riding. Anything else is a compromise. Don’t end up saving x amount £ but hate the ride.

You did try before you buy ofc

Dickon, I don’t subscribe too subjective assessments which clearly fly in the face of science such as ‘it doesn’t pedal up hill like its 35 lbs’ . I didn’t say it felt crap either.

I’m not surprised either that a newer bike with up dated parts is better.

Zesty rear end was too wide I clipped my heals on the frame.

Bronson is faster on my local loop. Zesty 15.1 kph average. Bronson 16.6 kph. Two loops total 20.4 km 430m climb. I’ve ridden the same loop on the Zesty loads of times and speeds Hardly varies. 1.5 kph was significant.

Bronson lower BB and shorter TT makes for fast cornering. Pikes give it point and shoot steering. 1 x 11 more useful gears. 27.5b wheels fast and responsive. Guess the speed increase is the sum of its parts.

    I’m keeping my Zesty and it’s been convertedf to 1 x 11.

We should respect the views of the Peruvian people and government.

A formal application for repatriation has been made by the authorities in Peru to the Scottish Prison Service.

Lots of people airing their cosy western views without considering the victims.

She committed the crime in that country adding to their misery caused by drugs and the associated violence and crime. She owes her debt of to the place she committed the crime. Justice has to be seen to be done.

Has nothing to do with money. Look at it in terms of crime and punishment

The best way to find the right bike IMHO. I took a demo SC bike for a weekend. Carbon bikes feel very different to Alu.

Just to up date and thank everyone for their opinions I took the plunge and bought a SC Bronson C. First ride Afan yesterday and I’m convinced I made the right choice. Brilliant bike. Weight 26.65 lbs inc pedals Pikes, XT brakes Maxxis HR., 1 x 11.

Prince2 is a good start and applicable to lots of projects. APM is better and harder qualification but more comprehensive. Join APM and read their hand book it’s very good about how to go about project management.

Ride carbon all the time. Wouldnt go back. Lot of uninformed advice above. Try before you buy. The ride is very different. Once youve ridden a carbon you will know what the difference is. Demo the bikes

What’s best way to start of Blade?

Euro, you’d invest £3k on a bike without having tried it before hand? Your missing out on the possibilities. I would do my geometry homework but it makes a lot of sense to demo various bikes before laying out cash. As the guy above said having tried the bike he thought he wanted he went for another. Cautionary tale there.

If your looking at your front wheel your looking in the wrong place. Confidence comes with fitness and practice. Look to the exit and everything will follow.

Garmin 800 with UK OS map best bit of kit I have ever bought. Allowed me to go loads of places on my mountain and road bike. I would simply buy another if it was lost or broken. Its used 4 – 5 times a week and has been going strong for I think about 4 – 5 or more years with no signs of problems.

Battery life is still 12 hours. I did 132 mile Bristol ball buster Audax on Sunday and it still had 36% of its power left after some 10 hours. Its a fire and forget bit of kit. Charge it up and go. Easy up load and great free mapping software.

Look for the positive in life not the negative

Why, the markets exist and have stood the test of time. So they aren’t going anywhere, what’s the point in allowing black markets to flourish?

Because its there country not ours. Maybe you should go there and try to impose your view? You might be in for a shock of what is acceptable and even possible in Afghanistan. Its not like the UK. The Afghan government isn’t popular when it wipes out the peoples only income so it treads lightly.

Instead of advocating action to deal with the market and the criminal suppliers you want to impose suffering and misery on the poor people of Afghanistan who are the least able to make a living? Smacks of double standards based on liberal western attitudes. Remember drugs fuel many other criminal activities.

They only grow it because there’s a market for it and it’s more profitable than any other crop. Those that advocate leagilisation are just adding to the misery.
