Once you try carbon I don’t think anyone would go back to alloy.

Yup no need to take the tyre off, repairs done from outside and very quickly

I think it’s wiser and quicker to descend safely than pad up and try to descend faster and crash. The pads may not save you from injury and certainly wont stop damage to your bike.

Plus 1. I’m running 2.3 tyres on 21 mm carbon rims. 20psi front and back. No issues whatsoever.

Will you really notice the ‘huge’ difference for the cost of the rebuild/new wheels?

Stopped carry tubes years ago. Im sure to be flamed but its based on running tubeless experience since 2010. If you set them up correctly and change or top up the latex regularly you will be puncture free. Small punctures, spin the tyre so latex goes to the hole and pump up. Bigger holes use the patch kit, its easy to use and you dont need to remove tyre so its very easy. Follow the instructions in the kit, they are worth reading to do the job correctly. The patch kit is worth carrying as is pump.

When you fit tyres and latex give them a good spin to get the latex around the tyre. Pump up to 40 psi and leave over night. Reduce pressure to 20 psi, go ride. The tyres will crack in to place. This ensures you dont burp them and they are correctly seated. I also change/wear out tyres regularly but old tyres will puncture more regularly. I use Maxxis, pretty bomb proof.

Yes a 29 will be slower steering than 26. First ride, take your time to get use to the bike. Remember to look where you want to go not at the obstacles. I’d give it a lot more time in the saddle before you make a change. Trance is a great bike. More practice I think is required.

Best to go and talk to mates. Had a mate of mine turn up on the door step one evening when he found out his wife had been having an affair. Q carry out and curry. I sat and just listened. Nothing you can say can make it better but talking is good. Whatever happened be honest and don’t role over. Get a good solicitor. Maintain contact with children. I don’t advise moving out either.

You pump grease in until it starts to come out around the bearings. I use a tube a year

Altimeter isn’t in the GPS it’s using satellite data

    Pawsy_Bear

(the altimeter doesn’t work very well, I’ve lots of 20km high rides apparently)

It does. I’d suggest resetting your altimeter.

    Stand outside
    Menu
    System
    GPS
    View Satellites
2 figures on the right of the screen, top one is you current elevation, bottom one accuracy
    Go back
    Set elevation
(Here I suspect you will find your 20k elevation data that has been put in manually)
    Delete all the data
It should auto populate once you close it

at least with garmin micro sd card once you bought it its yours and basecamp is free which I find, having used it for a few years in UK and aboard, is pretty good. No annual fees or subs etc.

Off road I use rucksack, panniers just add weight. I tend to go very light weights don’t take much

Plus 1 for tubeless. If you puncture any advantage you might have gained will be lost. Grab some carbon wheels also works. Light weight tyres and tubes mostly fail

Worth experimenting, low pressures can provide a lot more traction.

SC owner, I’d still advise getting a demo, easy finance dosent mean it’s the best bike for you. I’d demo some other bikes too. Plenty good ones out there

maybe adjust your tyre pressure, I run tubeless at 20 psi in the dry and 15 – 18 psi in wet.

Same TK on rear is fine but not in wet conditions. HR2 3c exo upfront is good, I find they have a more square profile than the Conti’s. Time to throw the HR2 on the back as well. Must give DHF DHR a go too.ure mud fest today and yesterday.

I keep using MacAfee it stops me doing this, gives you a big Stop sign before it allows you to go to the site. Windows security dosent cover all the bases. I up graded to 8.1 and believed what they said and didn’t re install MacAfee. Got hacked the same way. Now with MacAfee I’ve not had the same problem. I’m happy to pay the small amount each month to stay safe

Good to see its popularity but it needs investment. With increasing numbers of course the trails are becoming more worn out. FC has invested a lot in the surrounding area car parks and nearly zero at Pedalaway. I’m all for access and open to everyone. Just seems strange that the FC dosent capitalise on the success. And if you’ve driven up the road from Lydney you’ll know how badly worn the road is.

You can get tyres on without leavers once you have the technique

If you have a RS reverb syringe it works a treat. Just wash it out afterwards.

You can use a tube to help stretch fit them into place. Leave it for a couple of rides, then ease it off one side. Use a little water and soap on the bead. Once inflated take out the valve core and squirt stans inside. I use a syringe. Then re inflate to 40psi. It will crack into place. Very loudly. Spin she’ll to get stans around the who,e inside. Then leave over night. Reduce to 20psi in morning.nride and enjoy. The large pressure is to make sure the tyres in place and stops burping. If you have a compressor take the alve core out then before blowing up. Should do it.

Good for you on practice. Maybe try orienteering that will help a lot. Plus plenty of people to give you training. OS maps are best and you get the whole of UK on one card at 50k. I don’t take paper maps But do carry spare battery.

I find that the free basecamp software for planning routes is great. It will use the mapping from your garmin so you get all the detail you need. Ideal for using others gpx to locate the good single track. ??
