What would people say are the Maxxis equivelent to Nobby Nics and Racing ralphs?

Joking, Maxxis is way tougher tyre. Out in Peaks at weekend, one person had a puncture. Guess which make? Its always the weight savers on RR or NN crap.

I use dogtag and EHIC, dog tag provides cover for recovery from slopes or MTB trails. When you get to hospital if you have EHIC that covers it. The doctors were only interested in the EHIC. It’s important your covered for the ‘recovery’ to hospital bit as your remote and it might involve helicopters etc which aren’t free. I go abroad a few times a year so take out world wide and yearly cover. Dogtag also provides basic holiday cover and medical as well repatriation, third party etc.

Plus one for what oldfart said. I live a mile down the road so no I’ve not stayed in it. Friends have stayed there or camped local. Ideal really, saved using car and car parking.

Agree with above and I voted the same, for parties that seem credible. I predict a change in leadership and urge the Labour Party to rethink their policies. They seemed to have been surprised at the loss of support to the SNP. They need to consider what the rise of a strong regional party like the SNP means to them and their policies. Wales next? Can only mean further labour seat losses.

Anything over an hour keep fuelling and drink sensibly and well done on weight loss. Less weight is faster. Also look at cadence, keep a high cadence don’t push a big ring. To go faster you need to cycle faster, intervals over short distances. Always change your ride distance and effort. Short fast, long slow, hills, intervals etc

Garmin Oregon 650 here, robust, big screen, 2 x AA battery’s, SD card maps. Taken me across Portugal, used on trails in Poland, Italy, India, Dartmoor, Wales, Peaks, Forest of Dean. Big screen helps and free download baemap software works really well.

apart from the bar ends, I always think they are a bit dangerous in any crash as they stick up like two prongs from the bars, but hey ride what you want – very nice bike

Just back from 2 weeks road training camp had a great time Port Pollenca. I was in Hotel Duva but there is loads. I go with legros road training, basically guided rides http://www.legrostrainingcamp.com/ You pick the group you want to go with easy, medium or hard. They got a May camp too. Well recommneded.

    Zero mountain biking.

Eat in villages, routes garmin loads of them. All these Lluc, Soller, Formentor, Deja, Sa Colabra (you will enjoy this one ha ha think major climb and switchbacks). Go early via Easyjet, put bike together and head to the north light house for easy afternoon ride. Cafe at light house 😉

My Bronsons ready for the scrap heap? OMG! LoL A good bike that you love riding remains for me the essential quality. I rode my five year old Zesty yesterday 2000m climb and 83km later I’d had a blast in the sunshine 26 tyres and all. Go ride

Well mikey74 if you were one of those people you would be sat in some crap town/village/tent with no money, little food, no schools or hospitals or prospects. There is huge government corruption, criminal gangs exploiting the population and a war is raging around you and your family.

    What would you do?
Answers on a postcard please to mikey74.

You seem to suggest we ought to fix the problem for them which will come at a huge cost and more fighting?

I have no solution BTW I dont think there is one.

Look a bigger tit if you lose your eye sight. Do t wear googles but Oakleys, clear in winter dark summer. It’s the crap coming up from the wheels and the odd bush, branch and bramble that they have saved me from. If your off piste in woods forest they make sense. Besides its a free country wear what you like

Get at least three quotes from other companies. Remember though the cheapest may not be the best value for money

Try Maxxis far more reliable. NN are lightweight but puncture a lot because their thin and light

I rented most of my life and my money went in to pension and life. At retirement I bought a place where I wanted to live and have a tidy pension. Sinking all your money in the housing game is just restricting your life. I moved around constantly with my job. Would have lost most of the money sucked up by estate agents, mortgage and council tax. IVe settled now and I’m not maintaing some four or five bedroom property empty of children devouwrting heating, council tax and electricity. People get stuck in the property climbing the ladder to ever more expensive houses whilst life passes them by.

Old and new dark side. I prefer the new one but don’t think there’s much in it. New one is longer maybe so more bang for your climbing buck.

Strava and Garmin dashboard has an option to correct your elevation against the surveyed hight. No idea how accurate that correction is but to be honest I’m not that bothered ??

Go to the garmin home page to find the right SD card map for your area.

You can skip the HR monitor. If you needed it you can add it later.

The advantage of the mapping functions is that it allows you to follow or create routes. For me it meant I got to a lot of places by the better routes. Note you will need a SD card with map on it, I’d recommend the OS one. Route mapping software also uses your SD card map. The basic map only comes with major roads.

Strava and phone is accurate enough. Why spend if you don’t need to?

I’ve had 800 for some three years and loved it. I’ve just bought a 1000 as I want the ability to upload my data to iPhone whilst I’m on holiday. I also use the mapping functions on off roads.

Should you buy? Depends on what you want to do. Plot and follow new routes to explore on off road, train, follow others routes etc from Internet then yes. If it’s to be just to upload to strava for the odd ride, stick with your phone.

Salamon do very good waterproof and summer boots. Synthetic all the way for me. They are lighter and breath well in the summer. Note that not all boots are designed waterproof. Summer, light weight ones wont be. Id sugest two boots, one for summer and a waterproof one for winter.

Surprised that most think it’s the state that should provide for people in thier old age and that their family has no role to play financially or with care? It’s irelevent what thier background was.

However he has shown remorse and he didn’t use excessive violence.

he did break his collar bone, guess some think that violence is acceptable? Define excessive violence? Each case is different, such terms are irrelevant. Violence is unacceptable. I don’t suppose the victim will get over the attack quickly or at all at his age.
