I certainly don’t support pouring more tax payers money in to a loss making concern. Like all have said above it needs new management. I always stop and eat in the cafe coffee shower etc at Glyncorrwg. It isn’t to going to close. Lets see what a new team can do. Glyncorrwg is great, could do with some investment though. I also use Skyline cycles too, great people who will help you out and get you back on the trails asp

You dont have to spend a lot at the start. You could use your local gym turbo trainers and spin sessions. A lot of people try it after buying all the kit and then get borred. Try before you buy. Hence tends to be plenty second hand turbos on the market.

No spare wheel needed. I started out using my road bike. Got to like it for training in the winter and bought a cheap bike to leave in the turbo permenantly

Yup plenty like that, I’d buy a second hand one cheap to see if you like it first. Top tip is to make sure you set it up with some entertainment/training dvd etc. Stairing at the breeze block garage wall for an hour can be demotivating. Mine in front the TV so I can do long sessions and watch DVD or TV program. Cheap £10 fan is also ideal for cooling, even in the winter

They have said they are not closing it in Twitter and are seeking a new service provider for the cafe. Which it is sorely in need of

You can have loads of money but without your health you have nothing. How much would you give to be leading up those hills and feeling fit as you move into later life? Time to consider looking after yourself. I gave up at 55 never been fitter and happier thanks

each to their own, there are no regulations on the trail. So much worry over something that rarely happens

I dont think you can say one bike is better than another. So much depends on where what you ride, your fitness etc. I did a few demos on other bikes and the one thing I came away with was just how different ech bike rode. No such thing as over biked 🙂 You should try a Nomdad and a solo maybe some other bikes too.

800 user here now still going strong since 2010 best investment I made for exploring trails and more wilderness with OS maps. Great for plotting new routes on road to. If you dont go farther than your local woods then no need. Opened up a whole new world of trails for me and Ive used it all over UK, Europe and Asia

Like anything if you use it then its a sound investment

Done a few multi day events I’d second the Lycra shorts and camlbak approach. I certainly see lots of bottles lost on the trails during events. I also found my garmin useful showing distance completed and amount climbed. Keeps a useful tally on what you have completed and how much you have to go. The heart rate zone readout is useful to keep me at my optimum HR whilst climbing. Stops you putting too much effort in and burning too much energy too quickly. Off to the Trans Rockies single track six day event next week. They look very similar events in terms of format. It was the tent V hotel that swung it for me ??

also looking for a new phone – with that sim card can you put your music and podcasts etc on it? Samsung still connect to Itunes?

16Gb Iphone years old has run out of space for more music and podcasts which is what I mainly use it for

Best tip is to cycle well within your physical ability, this means you wont burn energy so qucikly and avoid the wall. Eat normally there is no silver bullet. The wall means you burnt energy beyond what your body has traiend for. SDW is a great ride, go slowly

That’s what they and countless others fought for, the right of freedom of speech. I may not agree with their views but I respect their right to express their opinions.

Its worth remembering that the cost includes the storage of the original material, person to be there to take your call, search, find, photo copy post. Seems reasonable to me. I for one am in favour of paying for the services you use, garden waste, house extension documents etc. I dont use them and dont expect to have to pay unless I use them. Bills of course should be accurate

No I use Emirates, found them to be excellent airline. When we got caught in the volcano issue a few years ago they put us up free of charge for a week in Dubai. They are also the best on long haul for free luggage allowence @ 32kg which is handy for bike bag stuffed with clothes. I’m off to cape Town xmas with the bike. TBH I pay slightly extra but Im happy with the service.

Evoc, the hard shell cases are fine but a bugger to get your bike in out, were as Evoc is very easy. All I do is pedals off, unbolt handle bar, reverb down a tad and bike is in. Simple quick. Wheels into side pockets, hemet camlbak shoes comes to 26 kg for Bronson. I have on long haul trips stuffed clothing in as well to 30 kg for one bag approach. And no I do not remove air from tyres or shok or forks.

I use the genuine stuff which is peanuts in ebay and readily available.

Agree, wonder why when I spend £450 – £600 on a fork I would not use the manufacturers recommended oil for £5.13?

Bronson owner here to. I was thinking about a 5010 as well. Saw the frame was close to the Bronson in weight etc. so was undecided if it would really feel like a lighter quicker bike. Having a blast on the Bronson but still enjoy my2010 Zesty. It’s just not as a capable. Interested to see the comments as after five years the Zesty its getting time to look for a replacement.

I MTB through the woods. Blow down is just that. We had several like that on the trails and larger. Top tip riding off piste, expect there to be trail obstacles and other people. If you nearly OTB then maybe other users are at risk? Slow down, enjoy.

If you have had previous cardio issues and are seeking to avoid a recurrence you should ask your doctor about this not a cycling forum where advice is just opinion. Only he or she can weigh up the possible benefits against the risks explain them to you and prescribe the right dosage.

One way out of this is to meet the seller at a convenient location so you can check the goods and then pay. Worked for me for more expensive transactions and safeguarded my money. Cash in hand still works. If he’s not up for it, move on. I’d be very wary as his PayPal account seems to have problems.

Same as Onzadog, get 4 or 5 chain sout of a cassette using PT checker. Keep the chain clean and well lubed and change it when its @0.9 – 1 you will have slick changing.

The time measure is flawed ‘running for year and a half’ what you do in a year and half isnt the same as others QED.

Why not try both ways then make you own mind up. I know my experience over several years now and which I prefer
