    Just seen your post.

    No detergent or cleaner
    Minimise washes
Keep drive train clean and lubed
Dab of fork oil on dropper post, fork, shook seals. Keeps them supple
Dry your saddle after each ride
Grease spds bearings and dab grease on threads so they don’t seize on crank
Seat post out clean reinsert with a dab of carbon no slip paste stuff

Why not ride the full sus all year? How did buying another bike become cheaper than maintaining one? Can’t see the saving myself and your right it will deteriate without use. I dont use any detergent on my bike either. Currently might get a power wash every month as its dry otherwise I use a brush to get the worse off it in five mins. Quick lube and it’s ready to go again.

Carbon wheels will give you biggest bang for buck. Lighter wheels spin up very quickly and losing rotational weight gives more speed than say a few grams off brakes etc. However riders are always the heavyist object and can often lose even more weight than throwing thousands of £ at the bike. TBH I think it’s always a mistake to buy a bike and upgrade. Any future up grades will now come at a premium. Spec the bike when you buy and save upgrade costs is my philosophy it’s cheaper. Buy cheap pay twice

I cant see how retests would save lives. Wheres the proof it would save lives?

I agree with OP above, we should fine the drunk drivers, 6 points in two years etc far heavier. There is at least a basis for legal action without hitting all the good drivers who far exceed the minority of idiots.

    This! http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/92095/thousands-of-uk-drivers-still-on-the-road-with-12-licence-points

Also note those advocating the older ones should be retested that ‘1,718 motorists with a similar record are found between 36 and 45’ and that ‘630 drivers aged between 17 and 25 have more than 12 penalty points’. So its not the oldest or youngest its the middle aged.

This is the area that could be and should be changed.

Or retests by area? ‘The town of Smethwick in the West Midlands is home to the worst drivers in the UK, it’s official.’ LoL

You can improve the contact by damping the area with water to make a better contact

Got rear ended by 30 year old last Sunday on M5 at 0640 in his BMW, asleep or phone we think. On inside lane at 55mph, rest lanes clear and he runs into me. Fires me into barriers and I spin down the road for 200m. Car written off. Another three children nearly lost their dad.

Its not just the old. What about those that are offered driver rehab? Instead they have to retake their driving test. Bet that would affect a few on here or is it easier to just pick on someone becasue of their age regardless that they havent committed an offence.

One old guy causes an accident, what about the rest? One law that fits all not singles people out because of age?

In my case the adjusters is a seperate company from the main insurers. I dont see the connection between loss adjusters and losing your NCD? In my expereince losing your NCD is when your found to be at fault. Yes, then you would be liable for excess and lose NCD and would be liable for anything else you decided such as recovery or hire car. If your fully comp the insurers pay for your repair.

I was rear ended on M5 last sunday car written off by adjusters monday. My insurance as arranged everything, compensation, said I keep my NCD, not had to pay excess, physio, massage and doctors report, hire car. RAC recovered me and my vehicle invoice was sent to other party. Everthing done in one week, Im just waiting to agree the write off damage pay out. Note I bought new car on Sunday and transfered my insurance. I have not lost my NCD.

As they said they dont expect the other party to dispute the accident 😀 If he’s not to blame why arent they all over this like a rash? Somethings not right here?

just bought new second car, spent all my time on the internet. I ve had quite a few new cars to. TBH I go already knowing what I want and just buy that. What you get told in any car show room will be bias towards what they want to move/sell. Do your homework, test drive check it out then purchase.

My purchase took an hour from start to drive away with tax and insurance transfered / paid. Included a quick test drive, check docs, car. Everything in order.

Once bought a new car. Conversation went. ‘Thats the car I want, I will buy it’ Yes sir but that will take 8 weeks for delivery. No I want that one. But thats the display car! Yes sell it me now. They did and it was ready 48 hours later.

yup its people dumping their waste happens all the time. Whats surprizing is the lengths they go to dump it. I see it all over the place in the FoD. Not only builders, but local people beds, mattresses settees etc.

Evening. Tbh you are on their radar now. I wouldnt put anything there again.

how did they know you had bikes in there is the question I’d ask myself. The thieves get their info from somewhere. If lots more garages were broken into then its random, if its just yours then they knew where to look.

I use this, Im in the FoD so muddy rooty. Muc off ceramic. I use sparingly on ea link I dont run the lube all over the chain, I think careful application works

The key is to have some form of entertainment while your on the bike. Long slow? Instead of sitting on the couch pedal for a couple hours whilst watching The Hunt For Red Omtober

I use my garmin and heart rate monitor. Cat eye on the rear wheel gives distance speed cadence etc. All in front TV in living room, use trainer DVDs or own work out to music

Turbo was free had garmin bought cat eye for under £20 I think

I estimate I could get a 5 or 6 mile ride in two or three mornings per week.

thats not even enough to warm up, I’m not sure you’d get any benefit

agreed, I’d save time and jump on the turbo and do interval session for 45mins. Quality not junk

You can’t out train a poor diet. Sort diet and add midweek turbo, rides, gym. Your doing everything at the moment in two days. Spread the load
