    I had a hire car.

I dont see its an issue because in a no blame case they are going to claim it back from the other parties insurance.

Exchange detail, you must inform your insurance company otherwise if he makes a claim you will lose NCD for a non reported accident – they argue the pros and cons if he puts a claim in, you dont have to and never admit guilt

    1. Get real legal advice. Your pension is worth a lot of money. This will be money well spent.

    2. Dont leave the home, its yours as much as hers
    3. Dont leave the service before your pensions up
    4. Agree a date of the split and get a read out from service pension, you will need this for the financial settlement
    5. You have been together only a short time so the financial impact will be little but as above, set a date that you both agree the split started on. You will need this. Also limits your exposure to any joint debt

Sorry all thats very financial but its key

Tonight we made the mutual decision to call time on our marriage. My entire world is on its head, now what

the rest of your life, this isnt and end just the start of a new phase. Change is a constant.

One thing I found that helped was I was determined to do a good job of separating. I was fair, honest, open and wanted to achieve a good settlement for both sides. I always felt that those that let bitter recrimination, hate and blame take over their lives some how diminished them in the eyes of their friends.

Make it a positive step forward and you will come out the other side a better person who is respected

800, 1000 and Oregon abuser. Depends on you and your map reading. The 800 is fine, I fire in a track and it gives you enough. Remember single track isn’t marked so it’s only ever going to be a guide. I’ve been happy ploughing through Wales off piste with 800 but I’m a good map reader plenty of experience. 1000 is better because of screen size as is 650. 650 will do all the bike stuff and has big screen.

When I go abroad and I’m being self sufficient I take the 650 because you can swap the batteries 2 X AA. If you don’t need that why not use the 1000? For long stuff 800 and 650 will allow external battery. 1000 won’t because the connection faces downward. Cables likely to fall out at first bump but it’s designed for roadies what can I say

Brilliant game, I like pace. Time to explore look around. Like the story so far.

I played the original back in the day, missed the others. Tried NV didn’t like it.

My front 2.3 HR2 same, looked like rim. Wasn’t, it’s only a little warped so I’ve left it on for the winter

You can have 140mm 5010 fork, back end remains the same. Like everything it depends on what how you ride. Best to get some demos. We’re all different riders, capabilities etc. Lots of good bikes out there. I’m certain for me I need a 150mm. Coming from a 2010 Zesty, which I still have and ride, I found the Pikes and stronger frame to be a great change. Medium Zesty was same as Large Bronson. Did demos and went for medium Bronson. So try before you buy, it’s a good investment.

Why not visit some bike shops and get to sit on one at least? It’s the fit, ride that’s important. Buying blind as you found out online isn’t the best way fir someone new to the sport to buy their first bike. Do research online by all means.

I picked the Bronson after a few demos specifically because it was so manoeuvrable. I’m FoD local. Before spending more I’d just take sometime to get really use to the bike. Tight switchbacks, as with everything practice

1 X 11 is brilliant. I started with 34, then 32 now 30. Try a 30t up front. I could get around Afan on 34 but 30 makes a lot more sense. Did the Trans Rockies on a 30t this year, perfect. Never felt under powered

When I first moved to the Bronson 18 months ago I did strike the pedals, now never happens. I think you adapt over time. Great bike. Once you get it up to speed over rough stuff the vpp really sucks you onto the trail. It has a higher BB than the Nomad.

S Works as its a great bike with Carbon wheels as standard

yeah its a good deal at the price, light fast 150mm

    Patrol, more enduro. Great bike.

Only ridden a stumpy so this is based on spec and geo

Im personally looking for a new light trail machine. S Works, Scout and this are in the frame http://www.orbea.com/gb-en/bicycles/occam-tr-mltd/

Very light, great spec geo. I have a Bronson otherwise Id go for the Patrol. Ive got a demo on the Occam coming up. I dont part with cash without a demo. Scout isnt carbon, cant see me going back to alu but I reckon next year will they may well release one

Llandegla to go at the blue route

    your serious huh?

take a road bike without mud guards

Most (all) weight resides on the rider. Cheap no cost upgrade to rider weight = faster

you can drop grams off the bike but 2kg of the rider is easy

The other ‘fact’is that we are all very different people and respond diferently to training intensity. Some how we have to find what works for us and develop that. I’m also personally strongly against anything other than a balanced diet. You should also train with the same stuff you eat during the event.

Long distance running or cycling also needs experience. You want to know what you feel like at 10, 15 miles etc. Also gives you confidence. There’s more to endurance than training.

You run a 10k, then 10 miler, half marathon and so on building up to the big event. Also allows your body to adapt. Feeding, gear etc can all be tested on the way. This approach also lessens the chance of injury.

Mix your training is my reading. Intervals, steady state, fartlek etc etc. Feed and hydrate as you would on the race

spin wheel so sealent goes to hole and pump up, dont remove thorn no need to. You can use the repiar kit when u get home. On MTB I dont bother repairing holes, the sealent seals them and thats it.

Note with the repiar kit you use the tool to enlarge the hole. Add glue. Then thread the reapir in and out. You should have 4 bits, tails to cut through.

Havent carried a tube since 2011. Keep sealent toppeed up every 6 months

Those mavic a look good I’d be suspicious of the zip area. It can be were water gets in. The look comfy though, mirth a try. I have the mavic enduro boot, it’s great

I’ve had 45 Norths, NW arctic and now Spesh defrosters. Only the defrosters are 100% waterproof with endura singletrack trousers.

45 North zip pulls apart. There a very good fit. But you have to go a size up. I use these on the road now, great fit. Think Spring Autumn. Water gets in through the zip despite even greesing it.
NW Arctic, fine but not waterproof. Felt boxy and too large. Gaps joins let the water in
Defrosters used through last winter no issues so far, robust, dry, warm

To be 100% waterproof you need to have longs that keep the water out the tops. Endura singletrack 2 is very good

I’m not depressed about it, just curious about this point in life really.

There isn’t any, it’s you. The Greek oracle at Delphi had written above the door ‘know thy self’. Wise words for people seeking answers to questions.
