Rose bikes is a great price for Tacx software and ant with usb lead. Up and running completed first ever FTP. Average 225 for the test. Enjoying using but only issue is I cant get my ipad and Zwift to link. Both on same and only wifi.

That aside, enjoyed the structured programmes and riding around with others. Made wet weekend days and training enjoyable.

Take a look at this one from 1965

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_Game

Was banned for some 20 years in the UK its horrifying. All the more gritty with its black and white 60’s filming

    another classic

    your right ninfan

I’d add that in the two years he was on bail the US did not seek his extradition nor have they now.

could the UK even launch missiles without US consent?

Complexly in our hands. No need to for permission from anyone NATO or US. It’s complexly independent with at least one boat, fully armed on station 365 days a year. PM and his nominated deputy give the code. In extremist the boats Captain has a personal letter written by the PM which sails with all boats outlining the options in the event that contact is lost in a nuclear exchange.

Just for argument sake say he stay’s in the embassy until 2020 when the statue of limitations runs out on the charges. Or the Swedes drop all charges. He is then free to walk away from the embassy.

But the UK has an extradition agreement with the US so we would extradite him if there was a charge?

I’m just not sure what his end game is? How does this end?

my quotes have gone to hell ha ha

    1) The US have absolutely no interest in him whatsoever
    2) They are waiting till they can.

    1. Yes, they do have an intrest in him should they have evidence and a case they will prosecute him. But they haven’t. But they could if evidence became available.
    2. No, I do not think they will illegally extradite him via some secret cia rendition

    see slowster post for detail

but you are in fantasy land if you think they dont maintain an interest in him and delivering Justice in away only america can – i mean guantanamo style rather than assassination.

No needs no reply from me

It would be illegal for america to say no we wont try to extradite you if you go to sweden.

I think that is the case and Sweden and UK cold not legally give such or similar guarantees. There is no precedent.

But there is no outstanding charges for him in the US. But you I assume and the rest fear that if he does go to Sweden the US will make charges. That’s just speculation. I feel if they were going to do it they would have done it by now. But I would say that because I dont believe in conspiracy theories.

We know we read your posts

well I think the BBC and Telegraph Washington post are slightly more reliable than ‘NEWS JUNKIE POST’ just my opinion.

do you think the reason for this is

    1) The US have absolutely no interest in him whatsoever
    2) They are waiting till they can.

Please read full sentence inc (conspiracy theorist assume they are just waiting until he steps into Sweden)

so they are all free to say dont worry its literally impossible for us to extradite you so dont worry but they cannot because its “illegal”

well as I said I was quoting from Telegraph. They seemed to sum up his position. We and they are laymen so interpretation of the act is in those terms, i.e face value.

    My only view is:

He has a case to answer in Sweden
He has not been charged with any offence in US
I do not subscribe to conspiracy theory
He was on the grassy knoll :-D

I think maybe the Telegraph and the Washington post sums his position.

He cannot be extradited from Sweden or UK for political offence?
He fears a rendition hit and being whisked away to Guantanamo
He and his supports want a guarantee of no extradition(illegal so dead end)
There is no extradition warrant to the US for him, he hasn’t been charged with anything (conspiracy theorist assume they are just waiting until he steps into Sweden)

Sweden’s extradition agreement with the United States was signed in October 1961 and updated in March 1983. It prohibits extradition on the basis of “a political offence” or “an offence connected with a political offence”.

But his supporters fear that he could be “snatched” by the CIA and spirited away to the US, regardless of the extradition treaty.

There are no charges against him in the US, although he fears he could be put on trial for espionage.

Yet The Washington Post reported in 2013 that the Justice Department had concluded there was no way it could prosecute him.

“The problem the department has always had in investigating Julian Assange is there is no way to prosecute him for publishing information without the same theory being applied to journalists,” former Justice Department spokesman Matthew Miller told the paper. “And if you are not going to prosecute journalists for publishing classified information, which the department is not, then there is no way to prosecute Assange.”

Possibly but until we have a binding declaration from sweden or the US that they wont try to extradite

don’t think that is legal so cant happen

Regardless, the UN finding is legally binding

is not legally binding, according to BBC

Given the interest in him by the American administration,

source ‘NEWS JUNKIE POST’ because its on the internet doesn’t make it true

Just observations really. He was in Sweden when the charges were put to his lawyers. He left the same day. Coincidence? Don’t know. He had applied to work there so I guess the US angle didn’t worry him at that point.

I’d add that sufferfest don’t use level one. Ten rarely and mostly for the ten second sprint for the win. Great videos I enjoy using them.

Most important is to get your cadence up and then add power.

I’m using an old 3 X 9. It don’t make much difference really. On my old magnetic trainer you just set the resistance then used gears to up the power while I watched sufferfest. Worked fine. Now using a smart trainer. It ups the power for me. Still need to use gears.

please enlighten us as to the real case then? It’s all an American plot? Conspiracy?

You have provided no alternative evidence?

He was in Sweeden when he was informed of the charges but left that day. Sweeden applied for his extradition. Assange appealed all the way to the Supreme Court. He jumped bail and walked into the embassy. In a nutshell I think that’s the sequence of events.

    Pawsy_Bear
    Free Member

I don’t. I think a number of women in Sweeden have made an allegation and the due process of the law requires that we extradit him.his case has been heard in our Supreme Court. Thus I think it’s valid. Can’t see what’s wrong? Those are facts?

    Pawsy_Bear

His case was heard in the UK Supreme Court. It agreed he should be extradited. Seems pretty solid evidence. Unless the UK and Sweedish governments and their judiciary’s are part of the international conspiracy. He was free to walk about the UK in the two years his case took. He walked into the embassy once his appeal had failed.

Id agre with MCTD. The women and Assange should have their day in court. I do note that he left Sweden when they informed his lawyers that they were charging him with the sex assaults. He had applied to work in Sweeden. He could have stayed there and faced the charges and if innocent have cleared his name by now.

I think from the evidence Sweeden has a legal case for him to answer. Otherwise the warrant wouldn’t be valid etc etc. Fact. Anything else is just online speculation or relying on conspiracy theory.

    Pawsy_Bear

I was suggesting that those that support him were ignoring the legal requirement for his lawful extradition. Asange is just trying to avoid a lawful arrest by linking his celebrity notoriety to avoid justice much like other notable did successfully.

It wasn’t about them being a pedophile it was about avoiding arrest because you have some sort of status that makes you a special case.

    Pawsy_Bear

What’s that got to do with a warrant for his extradition to Sweden to face charges of rape? Your suggesting he should be exempt from the rule of law? I don’t see Sweden as the oppressive regime likely to issue a warrant for someone’s arrest without justification. Or am I missing the conspiracy theory here …..

Could it be that I’m losing muscle as well as body fat

    No

Perhaps the exercise calorie calculators are significantly underestimating what I’m using up

Your falling in the trap that exercise allows you to eat more. You have to divorce diet from exercise. You cannot burn off enough calories during exercise to make any significant difference at your stage.

Calorie counting and burn is only ever a guide. Its far more dependent on factors like, type of food, your metabolism etc etc

Don’t fool yourself, don’t look for props or excuses to eat more. Stick with the plan. There are no short cuts. Sorry if this is a tough message. The positive is your doing something about your weigh and will succeed if you stick to the plan. Good luck

Que? I’m not really sure what disadvantages a small form factor PC has unless you want to overclock it to death.

well as you mention cooling, expense and upgrading. Much easier to upgrade a PC in a tower or desktop system so future proofing your system.

I honestly cant see why you would want a small PC unless its for aesthetic reasons or you travel to gaming contests and so need portability. Desktop are cheaper. Its worth bearing in mind along the upgrade route that for games its the graphics card that’s the main component to being able to run games and new more powerful ones come along weekly. They and the CPU give off the most heat thus a large case with fans is the preferred gaming rig.

I run a tower system, loads of fans, big side door allows access to all the components so I’m able to upgrade individual components as and when. If you want a good long term investment I’d go for a good monitor and a SSD HD.

you make a good point about chemical weapons. The threshold for their use seems quite low. Iran Iraq for example. But in all honesty I think the experience has been that they are a double edges sword. Could be useful to disrupt or delay or deny enemy forces strategic facilities ports, airfields etc

On the battlefield they would be of limited use against a prepared military. The west would have no way of responding in kind though.

Less said about biological weapons the better …..

I wasn’t being casual. Was just describing what we have done in the very recent past. The attack by an ICBM on the navy was war gamed last Oct with a missile launched from Scotland. Check BBC. I was just pointing out that the scenarios were realistic. Yes they are contrived because it’s a 60 min docudrama.

I at no point suggested launching Armageddon. It does not follow that doing nothing or becoming isolationist will make the world safer.

Remember we were toe to toe with the Soviet 3rd shock army along the inner German border not that long ago. Equipped with tactical nuclear weapons. Practiced defeating an attack on West Germany.

    For Dazh.

The point of an early deployment is to deter the enemy. The other option explored was appeasement. And we know where that got us. We would deploy troops. Artic all 5 NATO.

Yes it was scripted, it’s a drama to explore what might happen. How decisions and options are discussed. I thought it was interesting was how the personalities of the players came through and influenced their decisions.
