Yup I use my boot not my hands, same for putting them on. Walking boot ideal

    Let air out.
Step on tyre and push twist away from the tyre trapped under your boot. Seal will break.

When I put on new tyre I get the tyre 90% on with hands. The last -0% same as above. No danger of damage with tyre leavers.

Works with my MTB tyres and carbon wheels

Ha ha, help I’m being stalked! Yeah come on down. Had a great weekend with some friends from London. Dry trails, endless single track

It was a particular large speed bump on the lakeside pedestrian path ……….

She’s looking to supplement this indoors during Winter / inclement weather

then Id suggest something connected to the internet like Tracx vortex and Zwift/Trainer road

Boredom? Just means your not using Sufferfest, Zwift or BBC IPlayer, films, or DVDs.

I see very few not wearing a helmet these days. Of course there are the hardcore card carrying members of the CTC and flat earth society who don’tt. I’m certainly not in favour of compulsion. There’s enough nanny state already. I will, as always, continue to wear gloves, helmet etc as experience has shown me they lessen my injuries.

I certainly agree with molegrips about speed, more so on MTB and falling. Never hurt my legs, knees or shins MTBing. Elbows, shoulders and head, oh yes. Others I know always fall and hit their knees or shins first. I think we all fall differently and speed had some part to play in your off.

As for turning to data and statistics they are a useful tool but need to be applied sensibly. I’m not sure that were drawing the right conclusions from the data which Bez points out isn’t inclusive of all incidents. We live in an imperfect world. Doctors aren’t experts at riding.

One thing on turbo bike. It makes little difference what it is. The turbo controls the resistance. Your in one gear, no need to change.

Let’s assume your climbing on the programme at cadence 65 at @ 200w. You pedal at 65 rpm and the turbo ensures resistance is 200w. You could pedal at 95rpm. But the turbo will still keep the resistance at 200w. Hence gear changes not required, in fact positively discouraged.

The resistance is based on a % of your FTP which you find from the 20min test.

If you have a friend with a decent turbo get them to let her have a go. Spinning classes are another option. They can be fun in a group.

I started off with the normal road tyres the bike came with and switched to turbo tyre when I bought the Tacx. Big improvement as the road tyre tended to shed bits of rubber.

Can make large difference to strength. As above I use trainer road. Zwift and trainer road in the winter. Tacx vortex here. Mines setup permanently with road bike next to computer. Use BBC Iplayer and sufferfest to mix it up.

Permanent setup is easy to just jump on and go. Fan, drink, towel, sweat mat. Training program on and away you go. Summer I just use it to add quality intervals. In the winter I use it a lot more to avoid the bad weather. Quality IMHO is better than quantity especially for MTB. Trainer road has specific MTB training programs.

Don’t stick it in the garage facing a breeze block wall because you will die of boredom;-)

On turbos I started out with a freebie magnetic resistance one for three years. Changing to quality electric resistance turbo was a huge improvement. It controls the resistance, increasing and decreasing it as the plan or video requires. You train hard. In the winter I also MTB to keep my hand in, trail centres local trails etc. That’s still important.

    Any rotational forces injuries?

no it was that bloody slow. The cut to my hand from the damn road bike biting me was 30mm long and needed gluing. Really quite deep. I had fingerless gloves on they took the gravel rash away but somehow on the joint of my little finger and palm I managed a 30mm deep wound ^^

    Bloody tarmac and gravel

Rockplough I take that path nearly every time I go on the road. How the hell I fell off? No idea.

    struck by meteor on head!

That speed bump was total gnar almost 2 inches plus. I would have been very sore and cut I’m. It surprised me just what damage you can do at walking speed.

You can have the debate about wearing your helmet. It’s your head. Without doubt saved my head from a lot of gravel rash and impact.

Just looked at scuffed gloves, they saved the gravel rash.

I was looking where I was going the path is Tarmac like 2m wide. No other idiots involved!

    I couldn’t get my HR over 150bpm

    your tired, classic symptom

on long multi day stuff I see my max HR fall off every day. Means you didn’t taper and rest enough before the race

I find being at my peak for a race can be difficult balance between too much rest and not enough. If in doubt I tend to err on the side of more rest.

If your having a problem about easing off and resting – then drop the guilt bit. We all feel that when we don’t train

with signs at all entrances which say “no cycling”,

Strava has been used in the US to ban mtb-ers as it shows how fast they are riding down trails with other user groups.

ban away, who is going to enforce this in the UK? Answer = nobody

Most of the Strava users I know use it simply as an easy way to record their rides and keep track of what their mates are doing.

+1 for reality without the paranoia

with signs at all entrances which say “no cycling”,

and since when did some random sign allow you to have a go at others …..

I want to be able to do 100k cross country rides, and have signed up for two events later this year, so that’s my goal!

    yup do those.

A balanced diet is all you really need, fuel during the rides ofc.

Interval training provides strength and hill work.

Too achieve longer distances start out with back to back rides – ride 30km then next day 30 km, step this up until you can do 50km – 50km. Gets your body used to distance and gets a rest.

Adopt a pyramid strategy build up amount, intensity, rest period then step up intensity and amount beyond the previous week. Repeat until goal achieved. Small increments.

Rest is also an important element in getting stronger.

good advice on fueling but simply riding more often and different distance will help more. Try some shorter one hour faster rides. Then rest and say two hour plus steady rides. If your doing the same distance effort all the time your body adapts to it and you become less fit. Lack of variety is perhaps the real problem.

Use the delete ‘tool’ to select the bits you want to delete or you can click on the route, open it and edit it. Never read any manual. Seemed pretty straightforward to me. Right click and away you go.

Think you referring to the file system? My collection etc top left,it’s a file system. You create a folder top left and save rides in that folder ‘MTB’ then sub folder ‘Wales’? If you save all your rides in one the screen quickly becomes cluttered.

File/import or export allows you to insert a route into file or export a route to transfer via email etc. To send to device use ‘send to’

    Ignore adventures

use it lots best by far having used the rest. Its very easy to make a route or trail click and go.

Its very simple to use ……. :-D

Bronson owner 150mm found its a do it all travel really, the geometry of the frames is so close to the 5010.

What I do like about the Bronson is its BB height over Nomad and 5010 but that’s just IMHO. As always depends on what and how you ride.

Your still in warranty period, return to shop. If it’s second time as for refund or new wheels. You have your statutory rights as the buyer.
