It’s ok, there are lots of other areas with more and better. Been Long Mynd stones etc a few times. Worth at least one visit.

Yes,let the air out and compress, re measure. Check the rear mech is the correct distance from the large ring once you’ve readjusted the chain length. B screw adjustment.

The reason I say it’s too long is the rear mech should be pointing to 5 o’clock

biggest gear I can push and grind up

use lower gear higher cadence, no requirement for out of the saddle unless you want to sprint over the top

Climbing is technique and power to weight ratio. The bikes gear ratio can provide a wider range of useable gears for climbing. I don’t think the bikes geometry will have much real affect on climbing.

Fit a shorter stem to your current bike?

I’d just stick them in my carry on bag and wear flip flops. Got to save the hassle of being stopped etc

They were already considering sacking their head of intelligence. Under a sustained long term attack their only response has been to call out the reserve and to downgrade their alert status. All points to a failure within their security system to understand and asses the situation.

I did not mention stopping all attacks or becoming a police state. What I’m suggesting is its time for a change at the top and a root and branch review of their system. You can find plenty of articles that indicate and underlying dissatisfaction with French security and cooperation with other allied nations.

    We’ve been there.

Whatever you do think it through. Don’t be dictated too. Negotiation is the way forward. Debt is equally distributed regardless of ability to pay.

Why should you move out? It’s equally your house. She wants change then she can move out. No reason whatsoever for you to move out. Seen this so many times.

I didn’t move out of my house. Children stayed with me too because I could support them and provide a house and food. It’s your wife that needs a rethink. I’d explain that I’m not moving out. Don’t get dumped out of your house and children’s life.

Another huge French intelligence failure. Deploying the Army and it’s reserve will have little or no affect.

    ‘winter’ road bike

I use the same bike its actually cheaper. No one can convince me that running two bikes or more is cheaper and that they don’t go out of date.

Agreed, given the circumstances he did pretty well. Can’t see anyone else who’d do better. Some how I think for some of the STW experts nothing would be good enough.

Anyone telling you power to weight ratio isn’t a key factor in speed is in denial
    Lose weight
Get a turbo trainer and use trainer road type program and you will get stronger. Simple mileage on a static bike is almost useless. Junk miles
Technique is important, sprint, hills, downhill, single track
Age, I’m 58 this year. Age isn’t a barrier. You still have huge stamina.i bet plenty of people in clubs have very fit fast older men and women. They have age and experience on their side.
Diet and sleep and rest are also major components. Typically an older rider needs double the rest

1, My family live in the house whilst I live in the block at the camp and only get to see my wife and kids at weekends for the next 4 years.

    No.

    Just rent it out again.

I rented out through a agency. Yes cost @15% but it was always let out and never any hassle. Doing it yourself? You take all the risk.

Pawsey – I don’t agree, voting should require people to put at least a token amount of effort in.

Huh, registering by paper or electronically, what’s the difference?

Mine are registered at home. First thing the council did was to send a letter insisting my council tax went up as I had not declared them as living with me. Two weeks to reply. I found the letter on return from holiday with deadline already expired. Its time to improve the system and treat people as voters in their right and not connected to a property. You not noticed how many people live in rented accommodation?

Your children not think there’s an easier way to register and vote electronically? It would be a real step forward given the number of times a year I’m required to vote. Police commissioner, mayor, local council, referendums, elections.

We need reform of the voting system, move it online and I’m pretty sure more young voters would engage.

Like my children they move around a lot with Uni jobs, life etc registering for voting is bottom of their priority and I understand that.

We all get one vote, use it whatever your age. Wasn’t so long ago a lot of people on this forum were advocating not voting in the election like Russell Brand. His advice seems a little silly now like his politics

ah I see, you want people to vote but then you want our MPs to ignore this and vote according to their principles?

Can you see a problem with this? Undemocratic?

might want to change your behaviour to respect the views of others as equal to ones own instead of denigrating them as some how less intelligent or misinformed. You would be more tolerant

    Pawsy_Bear

This is hugely different from a General Election result. This is a statement of negativity, of dislike, of intolerance.

rubbish, no its not its democracy

so you only want voting sometimes, the rest of the time we should have no say in these decisions in case a majority votes differently from you? Really? Anyone who doesn’t agree with you is wrong?

Did all your family and friends all vote the same way? Mine certainly didn’t. Is my mum and daughter wrong? They certainly didn’t vote in terms of negativity, intolerance. They saw it as getting decision making back to London. Rightly or wrongly I respect their decision.

she actually shares a desk with the 1 person in our institute who openly voted leave, hes on holiday in greece now, but he looked very guilty around her on friday

why would anyone feel guilty about how they voted? I certainly don’t. I voted in but it wasn’t to be. I certainly respect the right of others to vote freely. So if you dont agree with how some one voted they should be castigated, made to wear a little yellow star as a sign of their difference?

I’m certainly not joining that band wagon thanks. Please vote freely, follow your god, come from a different country. I m fed up with the lack of tolerance from both sides.

Ive lived abroad quite a bit with work. If you look for bad things about a country you certainly will find them, look for the good things and I’m certain you will also find lots of positives.

Ive heard so many ex pats say, oh when I move/get too country X it will be so much better. I meet them years latter and you guessed it they are still unhappy. You make yourself happy.

    Set limit screws
Chain correct length, with suspension compressed
    Set b screw
Make sure the cable is threaded as per instructions
Barrel adjustment all the way off, then plus two clicks
    Pull cable tight and lock
    Index

Fitted new one a few months ago, simple easy.

Suspect the chain length isn’t right
