Never thought I’d see them as far south as Brighton!

Many years ago I sent my mate a postcard from Amsterdam that was a picture of a sex shop with all manner of dildos, vibrators etc of all sizes. His mum saw it and asked why I sent him a postcard of a butchers window.

The best example of the success of the food lobbying industry is the completely shambolic food labelling we have in this country.

“the helicopters at NZ MTB Rally accounts for little more C02 than using a vehicle shuttle to drive the same route”

    Really?

@blokeuptheroad nails it about the ferry departure & journey. And about riding your own bikes on brilliant roads.

Absolutely zero faff involved. Masters of your own destiny etc

We were invited to the local sardine festival by the person who owned a house we stayed in for a night.

We enjoyed riding all around Ainsa so much we stayed for 3 nights.

Accomodation is easy to get and great value in Spain, especially with the flexibility a motorbike gives you.

+1 for SRAM carbon cranks. I’ve had several sets over the years with zero issues.

-3 for anything drivetrain related from Raceface.

Ferry to Santander or Bilbao, then head to the Picos and the Pyrenees. We stopped at about 2pm every day to decide where to stay using the Booking app. Never used it to book the accommodation, rather we contacted them direct and got a cracking deal.

I’ve had a pair of Zipp 3Zero Moto wheels for 6 years now and they’ve been excellent. They do weigh about 2kg though, but are incredibly compliant. The rear can feel a little flexy when pushing hard in berms but that’s why they’re so comfy.

My only gripe would be the almost comedically small bearings in the front wheel. They need replaced every year.

Have had Code RSCs for several years and have used them in the Alps many times, as well as pretty much everywhere in the UK, quite a bit in Spain, and they have been very good. Occasional sticky pistons but relatively easy to sort out.

    I’d recommend.

Is the 1922 Committee not looking to change how they’re selected now, giving the increasingly elderly, increasingly right-wing membership less of a say?

Can’t help thinking there’s a certain amount of “**** around, find out” involved here, but I’ll be keen to hear the justification for kicking someone in the head when they’re on the ground.

I’m going to reserve judgment until I hear the facts.

Just back from a Welsh MTB road trip. The 20mph limits were great to see, and good to hear first hand feedback from people who live with them and fully support them.

    @grimep
    – what are you driving to have to “grind along in 2nd gear” when you’re in a 20mph zone?

Read it and weep. Very much depends where you want to go, but it looks like a pretty midge year.

    Test drive

    Buyer beware

    Check the MOT history

Any service history backed up with receipts

If it’s got good quality, matching tyres that’s always a good sign. Mismatched ditch finders mean it’s been run by a cheapskate

I just went into a mobile phone shop in Malaga and bought a Spanish SIM which gave 80Gb per month for €15. No contract, just had to take my passport.

Mark Beaumont told me Russia was the hardest part due to the crap roads & awful driving standards. Avoiding the toughest parts of the route doesn’t sit well with me.

Amazing achievement, just not really in the spirit of the record imo.

Agree with @ajc about Salomon durability. Got a pair replaced under warranty which was pretty painless but the new ones started failing the same way.

    Current Scarpas are good though.
