The surround and hearth is the worst part of it, the picture doesn’t do the plastic quality of the finish any justice at all.

The house is a 1930s bayfronted semi. We can’t remove the fireplace entirely as we have just the stripped floorboards (which need revarnishing) and under the hearth is a concrete hearth.

I have bought things for under the thumb mates before on my card and they have paid me the cash.

    Can’t you just do that?

I read it on here last month that he wasn’t there, but it was hoping to be resolved. I think we will take a lunch just in case!

The hall will order you a takeaway to be delivered and then set you up a table in the old training room if you ask them :D

I found that going to Setting>Applications>Manage Applications and going to the All tab brought up both Facebook and Facebook for HTC sense having used 10Mb of space. I erased the history for Facebook for HTC sense and I haven’t had a problem since.

I think the Facebook upgrade left the old versions cache in the memory.

Why do the tourney rear mechs have huge lower jockey wheels?

I got the light linked by Jamie on Friday with the new style battery pack.

I don’t like the battery pack, it is really big (much larger than the 4 cells inside) and heavy. I’d prefer to have the spokebloke type battery.

When I read the ebay terms and conditions the other week (when they changed them) you are now covered on ebay buyer protection even if you have picked up and paid cash, they will just withdraw the money from the sellers paypal account.

Contact the seller and if no luck in a couple of days file an item not as described on ebay

Do you have garden access and do you use the up and over door much?

I have a lockup (as an overflow for my own garage) in an secured area and these used to regularly get broken into, generally by levering the up and over door and folding it over on itself to clear any defender that the person had.

What the owners of the block of garages have done is to hammer a wooden frame inside the metal frame of the door. If the wood fits tightely, and then is screwed into place the door is almost impossible to fold over itself.

If you don't use the up and over door, I'd frame it with wood, and then drill holes in the sides and use 13mm hex head coach bolts into the actual garage door opening.

For your own piece of mind you can't beat having an alarm though that is connected to your house.

A lot of roller doors are surprisingly easy to break into, especially if there is room in the road for them to drive away from the door after hooking something underneath. My parents neighbours had this happen to them at night and nobody heard.

I wasn't looking to start soldering bits together, rarely does it actually cost less. it is not worth the risk with these. I was really looking for a smaller alternative to my current pack but still waterproof and a safe charger. I will contact Smudge

Thanks. They are more for a commuter so they should be fine. I didn't like the plastic clip on bits when I tried them

Well I had a 305 before and that got pretty scratched up quite quickly.
Maybe I am just careless as my phones always end up really scratched and make it difficult to read.

It isn't the chamois bit that is the problem, it is the area to the outside from that where I have a problem.

4 bearing stockists around here and all Mon-Fri only :-(

I should have looked at it one evening instead of waiting until today!

    Thanks for the scan!

They haven't got any route cards at the moment, back in stock at the end of the month – but we want to book where we are going in the next week or so.

    Fixed it :D

Used Sheldons method to gradually bend it back square, took a fair few goes to get it spot on either side of the seat tube and with a 135mm spacing (the spacing without a wheel fitted before was 142mm due to the damage)

Now can anyone recommend me a guide to truing my wheel as that is a bit out of shape

    paulwf

The wheel isn't perfect, but the wheel from my other bike that is perfect sits the same.

That sheldon page is great, I can now see how it is possible now and if I leave a hub in there.

Although I am a bit nervous about bending against the seat tube. I'll probably put a bit of rag on the tube and then some angle iron to spread the load.

I'll have a go at most things, but I still don't think it is going to be possible to get it to line up correctly.

Standing on it isn't going to work, as I will need to prevent the main triangle from moving.

Perhaps if I was to clamp the bottom bracket housing in my vice I could just bend the triangle back?

I like it a lot, with 32:16 I got a magic ratio with a half link in the chain. The frame is a bit heavy though for what I use it for

    paulwf

It is definately the frame not the wheel.

The drop outs are square to one another, its just the whole lot is shifted. So i am not sure that Park Tool kit will work (it seems to say it really is for drop out misalignment.

Its not worth spending a lot of money as they aren't expensive

Well it isn't sticky any more, they both move at the same time. However the pad clearance with the pistons pushed back is tiny. I set the clearance equal on both sides, however when I pull the lever for the first time, one bad doesn't retract as much as the other, so the next time the disc is moving.

I know it is not correct, but I tried setting hte pad clearance equal on both sides again, but it rubs constantly.

I am guessing the piston that sticks out must be a little tight so the seal doesn't retract it properly.

    paulwf
    Full Member

Hmm done that and still the disc is moving :(. Both pistons seem to be moving now though.

Going to take it out for a ride and see if it is any better

The hope centralizing the caliper has worked really well on the front brake – I am really pleased with that. Its just the back is virtually dead

    paulwf

Well I have some silicone spray, so i'll pop the piston and put some of it on it.

If that doesn't work I will give Hope a call to get them to have a look at them

The dealer will use chips away or the like, they certainly would not completely repaint a panel for a little scratch on a car they were selling – including new cars. It happens a lot more often than you would think especially repairs before they leave the factory.
All the second hand cars on the forecourt would have had small repairs like this.

Most people will not be able to spot a decent mobile paint repair. Sure if you really know what you are looking at you can see it.

For her it is the simplest option, they will come to your car park at work and fix it, so no need to go the stealer and have to have a courtesy car for the day.

The trade price for a simple repaint is ~£100 a panel (assuming the dealer will sub it out), you are paying for the courtesy car and for the flashy dealership.

How does the Fenix HP10 work with a helmet though, surely you can't get it to point in the right direction as the helmet will want to make it point to the sky?
