I have one of a similar age that has done 186k. It has had a manual gearbox at 140k which so far has been the only major failure.

I have however replaced all the springs and shocks, all the front suspension bushes, and the lower bushes in the rear suspension.
If it hasn’t had this suspension done it will probably need them done soon. It made a huge difference to my car.

I don’t really care, (well I will if they ban me from having my porridge in the morning).

They are just banning KFC, not any other hot food.

I was sure I read about a case where it was said they couldn’t just ban one make of food

Just list the car as a classified ad, that way if people are interested they can come and buy it straight away. The few times I have tried an auction the sale has never gone through (in fact I don’t think on any occasion did the person even come and look at it)

So that one worked really well for a couple of months, but now it won’t work on shrader valves any more – the rubber has become distorted preventing pushing it on

Any other suggestions – preferably for a dual valve head?

My Oakleys ached for a while, but now they are fine. I also now have 2 grooves in my head though

Oh and it needs to be able to do both types of valves

Ours were terrible, but have been refurbished into a wet room style.
Unfortunately the useless contractor that does all of the shoddy building work made the fall in the floor away from the showers, so the whole room gets soaked and it runs out into the main toilet

How much does it rattle by?

Measure the headset and the tube, if the difference is less than 0.5mm (I’d be surprised if they managed to remove more than that by blasting) then just use this to retain it

I signed up for it in December and used the instructions after signing up to immediately cancel the autorenew – so I got a month of next day deliveries.

I’d be surprised if there was a seal with a 44.5 OD.

Are you sure there isn’t a piece of the old seal still in the hub?

Managed to damage a cable outer as has a mate. Had a cable inner but in both occasions they were of no use.

If it does break and you don’t have one the guide will probably be annoyed with you :-)

    Thanks for the link breatheasy.

The only problem with combining postage would be the goods price is then over £15 which means VAT is added, and the post office would add there clearance charge which is about £10.

So ordering three would just about make sense whereas ordering 2 would not.

Thanks for the replied I have had a look at the PC now, it somehow has Norton reinstalled so she must have clicked something at some point. She also admitted to clicking links from joke emails from friends which I told her not to do in future even if it looks safe.

I have removed admin rights from the User account and created an administrator account to prevent future installations.

Will give it a check with Malwarebytes to see if anything else is present, there were a lot of Java exploits on the PC. I couldn’t find any evidence of the trojan horse, but I had already uninstalled Norton so maybe she had used that to find it.

    thanks for the help.

I imagine it must have been Skype as I have looked through her webmail and there aren’t any emails with dodgy links.
I will try and explain not to click on links but easier said than done.

Apparently I put MSE on nearly 3 years ago and this is the first time she had had a problem so it has done very well

In fact here is the website he got them from – I have maps but there are GPXs now.

We have an office in Blois and one of the guys there gave me a couple of maps for forest rides just outside Blois (I think one is just over the river from the main part of Blois)

I can email you the maps if you want

If it is like the section they have added at the end of the old Whites climb then it is just a muddy trail with a little bit of gravel in places – therefore bringing huge mud puddles

The last diesel I had with glowplugs I replaced them myself, was a doddle. Mind you that was about 12 years ago now as not had any since with glowplugs.

All diesels have glowplugs to allow them to start in extremely cold temperatures (ie well below zero) – but they are still used to improve emissions from a cold start.

You are more likely noticing the fact that the durability is better nowadays as they are better controlled, and the fact that a direct injection diesel can start without glowplugs (but will be a bit more smoky) and therefore haven’t had to replace any

for a car that had done 24k miles………..and no we didnt kill it, but was a Honda car for the first 3k miles, so guessed that the japs who came to the Uk possibly didnt know how to drive a manual………..

Next time you go past an Avis/Hertz etc, have a look what the numberplates say.
All the big hire companies lease the cars off the manufacturers for 3 months, so that the manufacturer can then resell it at a main dealer as an ex Honda car, when in fact it is an ex rental.

If I wanted to tile the rear surround, I need to make up 25mm from the wall (the plastic laminate surround was spaced by wood)

Can I just do this with plasterboard, or is there something else I should use?

    Cheers

Got it off, they had used angle brackets and screwed it to the wall and plastered over the screw heads

Oh and there is a reverse print on the back side. Its even worse than the front

How should the pine fireplace come off? The one in the front room you lifted to remove as it was hooked on. Perhaps this one needs the actual fire removed as it feels like it will break if I lift it up with any more force

Correct it is Ovolo skirting, fortunately still available to order from our local independant timber merchant as some rooms were missing large sections of it.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will keep the pine surround and then have a look around during the week for a new insert and fireplace.
