The diesel Mondeo could be fine, or it could need a new fuel system or DMF/clutch.
    I personally wouldn’t touch one

I have only recently rented cars in Germany, but I don’t remember showing the paper part ever except when in this country

I am on my 3rd reservation now, the first two stores that I ordered from had apparently been purchased before the order was picked….. Strange that one of them was overnight!

I bought a 6.5hp Chinese Wacker plate to do my block paving. Was far cheaper than renting it for several weekends. Think I sold it for 200

All you need to now do is open a case. The buyer will get a unpaid item strike and you will get a refund for the charges.

I have my account set to not let bidders bid if they have any unpaid item strikes

I laid mine after reading the paving expert website.

I bought a whacker plate and a block splitter from ebay to use. Sold them for more than I paid (bought in Jan, sold in June!)

I have just bought the CTD shock from there and removed that hardware if you are interested in them cheaply? There is a few marks from removal but nothing significant.

If it was damage to a car or parts of a car then your home insurance will likely not cover you anyway.

I had to make a claim as a code didn’t work. Just emailed the form and refund came through quickly

I think the separate claim thing is so people can’t be bothered to claim

We are with them, no problems so far.

I hadn’t realised the credit balance part – no wonder the last time I logged on it recommended I reduced my DD

The airbag recall is due to potentially dangerous Takata airbags firing metal in the occupants when activated http://blog.caranddriver.com/massive-takata-airbag-recall-everything-you-need-to-know-including-full-list-of-affected-vehicles/.

Regarding the 10 year life – this article states it isn’t necessary http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/8078919/Out-of-date-airbags-should-not-need-replacing.html

The sensor looks suspiciously like the decathlon one which is only £17

I lost 10kg in 2 or 3 months after reading this article (it was linked on here) and then changing my breakfast habits. http://www.leangains.com/2012/06/why-does-breakfast-make-me-hungry.html?m=1

I used to eat breakfast at 630, then ride to work (only 20mins). By 9.30 I was starving and so ended up having a second breakfast to keep me going until lunch.

Now I only have black coffee when I wake up and eat breakfast at about 10am. This then means I have a much smaller lunch and no second breakfast. Took a couple of weeks to get used to, but since sticking to this I haven’t put the weight back on.

I also do the same for an early Sunday morning ride – though if it is a long one I do have to take cereal bars with me.

Decathlon ant+ speed and cadence sensor is only £17 http://www.decathlon.co.uk/ant-speed-rate-sensor-cycle-computer-accessory-id_8181211.html

You can also get genuine Garmin ant+ USB sticks on eBay for ~£15

In my experience house insurance isn’t the same as car insurance where you get massively loaded for making a claim. Just let the insurers sort it out

I have that laptop which I bought a couple of weeks ago – I paid £549 but Lenovo were doing the VAT return thing which knocked of £85 ish once I get the rebate (can’t apply for several weeks).

We are happy with it, good resolution which we were looking for.

There is an image on this page showing labatory vs real world tailpipe emissions for petrol/diesels against the different emissions standards.

    http://www.theicct.org/blogs/staff/laboratory-versus-real-world-discrepancies-nox-emissions-eu

Soot isn’t really the problem with diesels, it is NOx – London and many other UK cities are way over the European legislation pollution limits.

The tailpipe NOx limits are pretty low for both diesel and petrol engines, but the test cycle is not representative of a real drive cycle (which is why it is rare to get near the fuel economy figures).

A petrol, however it is driven has low level of NOx emissions. A diesel however produces huge amounts of NOx at higher loads – these regions are not tested.

Later in this decade more realistic drive cycles will be introduced, along with Urea/adblue based SCR systems on many diesels which reduce the NOx emitted from the tailpipe.

Truck/bus engines are tested in a different manner, which is why for Eu6 they all have SCR systems already.

I found that mine poked out quite a lot until I had worn them for about 4 days in the alps. Then they started sitting a lot more naturally on my arms.

I think I went for small, I have skinny arms

A collegue sold his motorbike recently and cancelled the insurance.

The policy was £87 and 6 months left to run. To cancel it he had to pay an additional £50. He complained a lot and got it down to £25 – but I do wonder how they can justify these charges

Mine initially didn’t fit that well as they were a bit stiff. After a couple of days wet riding they sat a lot better.

I had a wheel damaged by fire in my garage.

The claim handlers kept trying to call my wheel a bike accessory but as I had read the terms I kept correcting them (several times in each phone call) saying that it was a fundamental part of the bike, not an accessory.

They accepted it and passed it onto Wheelies insurance replacement who were very good.

Edit- they also paid out for the tyre

We did the same as FunkyDunc with First Choice- I though I would hate it but compared to our usual camping holidays it was really relaxing and almost guaranteed great weather. Bit more than your budget for accomodation, but we only spent £20 the whole week as everything genuinely is included.

We went out of school holidays it was full of people with the same age kids. My eldest who was 2 and half loved it as there were other kids to play with and he spent all day every day in the pool.

Most self employed people I know have ltd companies so that they don’t pay high rate tax.
Have you spoken to an accountant about that?

It definitely won’t be the TPS as that would affect normal running.

The ECU has two brake inputs- one normally open the other normally closed. The most likely fault is one switch is broken – most likely the one that doesn’t do the brake lights.

Do you not have a method of reading the fault codes?

There isn’t a cruise module, the switches are a resistor network that go to the ECU via an analog input

If you look up the Guittierez-Perez case (drunk driver killing infant in pushchair) – although he took the case on she did not win her appeal (unless she appealed again?)
