All magazine reviews, no matter the subject (golf, hifi) are all full of the same rubbish.
Ride it and if you like it, buy it

I am happy with my brand-x one – wanted the park one but it was out of stock everywhere at time.
As others have said, tighten the grub screw and the play is removed.
My new mech hanger was somewhat bent from the packet

It’s interesting that you say this happens on longer rides, and on your potentially weaker left side if you are right handed/footed.

Could it be that muscles are tiring and you shift to compensate but because you’re clipped the result is you move your heel in? How about adjusting the cleat position or if you were on flats you might be able to reposition without heel rub?

With egg beaters there is a lot of float – but its probably worth me putting new cleats on as that does reduce it a little.

It definitely is my weaker leg- on my last frame i also managed to scuff the seat stay on a particularly gritty ride. Perhaps I can try some individual leg training on the turbo trainer

I do ride clipped in, eggbeaters that have lots of float.

Thanks for the ideas, I have some amalgamating tape so will try that as it will be easy to clear the brake hose clips

I am staying near Burton on trent.

I’d like the ride to be no longer than 5 hours as I then have to drive back to Kent.

Flyingmonkeycorps suggestion looks good as I’d like to ride Jacobs Ladder

When my shoes get excessively smelly it is usually as i haven’t dried them properly by stuffing full of newspaper.

I’d hand wash them in a bucket and then stuff full of newspaper. Change the newspaper several times to get most of the water out, and then change the paper every time it feels damp

The trail is surfaced well pretty much all the way round now. One short closure after not so pointless.

Got my rotors, bargain thank OP

Ordered an XTR to mech to store on a click and collect. Someone phoned me this morning to say it hadn’t arrived (which seems strange – i haven;t had that in the past). Hopefully it will turn up

Rotors for me as well, thanks OP

Though looking through the list some people were lucky with the Lezyne bargains!

    I have a mercedes E class W212.

I was able to fit my FS 26″ bike with the bars/stem removed in the boot with the load cover over the top (seats up). Handy for when leaving it parked in a hotel car park

I got far more for a 26″ bike than I was expecting when I sold it as individual parts

I have ordered the Rt81 which are the centrelock version of the RT86

I’d be wary about being too fussy, a friend had a similar hedge in a similar position.
A neighbour reported it to the council and it had to be cut down in height to allow visibility splays for vehicles leaving the lane to ensure they don’t know down pedestrians

Which version rotors did you use?

You have now given me a similar dilemma. I tested the T130C-RS and loved it and was just about to order one – but the cube looks a great spec for money

I tried putting screenwash with some latex and glitter. It didn’t work as well as glitter and latex. That didn’t work as well as Stan’s which is what I have returned to using

From what I have seen, Frogs have similar resale value to islabikes.

I have no idea how Islabikes can cost so much seeing as they sell direct. Frog etc all have to give a margin to a shop

Mine is pretty low £340 a month and it is taxed as normal salary.
I don’t do that many work miles and the only rule is that it has to be suitable for business travel with 4 seats – no age limits or engine type/size.

Edit – I reckon my company give it as a pay rise that doesn’t raise the too high % increase flag

I’d imagine the main reason is that they do not wish the current employees to know what they are offering.
In the past we have had agents quote figures that were fantasy and upsetting the current employees

Was the bike visible in your car and how did they get into it?

I watched the episode from last night with my son this morning. He really wants to go to BPW as I go there.

I thought the presenters were pretty awful. I hated all the filling in sections (and the pointless swearing when he said she had done jack xxxx on her bike).

    The riding segments were good

I have had success with double tubeless repair worms on the trail with damage like this.

Sometimes it comes off, and I have had success using a path either side after putting a couple of staples in.

I have a seceuroglide excel – recommended after several neighbours had cheaper doors opened (the garage access is via a rear service road). It is now ~7 years old and still works fine and has never been serviced.

I wear smart shirt and trousers on my commute with trouser clips. Depending on how cold it is I either wear either a thin billet, thin jersey or a rain jacket.
If it is wet I have decathlon waterproof over trousers

Professional paint stripper from ebay (that has the good stuff in – starchem, synstrip etc) should remove the paint easily. Then hope they didn’t prep the stone much before painting

I have had a VW camper for 15 years. They are great for two people as they are small enough to drive anywhere. We have taken ours all over Europe as a couple.

Even after having children we used it a lot, but now they are 3 and 5 it is a little more difficult. You need a decent size awning so that you can put the child seats outside at night. Awning also allows you to store bedding etc if you want to use the van during the day without spending an hour packing everything away.

However for days out/picnics etc they are perfect as there is so much storage, we are now using ours more as a day/overnight van rather than a holiday vehicle.

Got some Clarkes childs grips from halfords which are 28mm but they are a bit narrow. He thinks they are better though
