I don’t use knee, but always wear shin pads as I was constantly scraping my shins, I use 661 veggie they are lightweight and comfortable I dont really notice I have them on, they only offer basic protection but I find it enough- just my ten cents

i ride a 456 summer season with 140 pikes it has a slack head angle, which is great for steep techy stuff but also corners unbelievebly, being a steel frame and my build isnt exactly light it isnt the fastest climber out there, however it does everything else perfectly i actually cant imagine a better handling bike-for me anyway.

i am currently building a full susser but only for 2 reasons firstly just for a change now and again and secondly when i ride the peaks etc, the 456 is just a bit heavy on the climbs.

to finish off in my opinion a 130 / 140 ht is about perfect for most situations unless your an out and out racer ,but the extra comfort and traction delivered by a full suspension rig cant be overlooked, also one last point i have found moving to steel takes a lot of that bumpy back end away but there is a definate weight penalty there which in my opinion is worth it but this is just my 10 cents and im sure many will disagree.

The rockhopper frame is very good and very light for an entry-level MTb and also a good frame all around- I rode a fair few hardtails at various price points including boardmans, and a pace 305, I now ride an on one 456 summer season with 140 pikes and it outshines anything I’ve ridden before it is harder work on the climbs as the frame I pretty heavy but on fast singletrack and anything technical and pointing down it flies- testament to how good the rockhopper frame Is, when I finally parted with mine it had full xtr fox forks hope wheels juicy 7’s etc the frame wAs the last thing to go

so what would you take realistically ?

    paulo6624
    Free Member

not at all, i actually think nuke is spot on with his valuation it would fetch that kind of money as a full bike on st, splitting is the way to go on here if you can be bothered ive split a few bikes on here so have a rough idea on what the kit here is likely to fetch so if this is any help

    frame £350
    fork 200 – 225
    brakes £100
    xt crank £60
    xt shifters £40
front and rear mech together £30
wheels 200 ish not seen a set of these on here so purely a guess
    bars stem seatpost £30
    cassette £10-15

of course these are only estimates i tend to sell slightly cheaper so things move quicker always something new to buy lol, to the right person the frame could fetch £500 if someone just so happens to be looking for an ex8 at the time you sell, out of interest if you do decide to split those havens would suit me as ive just ordered haven bar and stem combo so give me a shout if thats the way you go, good luck

hi, i know from previous experience that (providing you used paypal) you can make a not as described claim for up to 80 ish days from time of receipt, very few questions are asked its mostly up to the seller to prove that the item was listed correctly, so you have a very good chance of getting your money back.

the issue for me here is that if the guy has a reputable selling record as you say he was probably either unawares of the crack or it has somehow happened in transit (very unlikely i guess) either way after 6 weeks the moneys probably been spent on something else so it would be hard on the seller if this was the case.

I would be tempted to price up a repair as 5th said above and speak to the seller, tell him that you would rather not put a claim in and if he could pay for the cost of repairs the matter would be sorted you can then claim a partial refund through paypal-if he is uncooperative go ahead and claim the full amount.

just my take for what its worth

Cj ward I’n burton did my enduro recently( obviously had to strip bearings etc myself) they masked it for me, I had several quotes around the 70-100 Mark they charged 25 quid and the finish was exceptional, they did say 20 quid for a ht, about a weeks turnaround, may be a bit further than you would like but it’s an option.

Got mine today, no remote I’m box ad with other threads, but seems pretty decent similiar movement to my ksi950 but the finish on the ks seems slightly better, but the return on the x fusion is quicker, another plus point is the saddle clamp the ks are ultra awkward.

Does anyone know if the ks remote will work with this post? If so is anyone selling one ?

It’s quite loud I’ve tried to align the saddle several times, but still no joy, it’s quite loud, and a shame as otherwise I think the post is better
