However I’ve just spent 90 mins in a car journey with someone and just about the whole journey. I saw signal 2 bars less or so Both on EE on 4G . But despite showing no signal I could make a call

Ok… The GX is listed as a 2 X 10 ? My Bike has 3 X 10 ? I don’t understand why the GX is specifically listed as 2 X 10 ?? Surely the rear derailleur wouldn’t need to be specific to a 2 or 3 front?

I’ve just noticed that there is a Gel Point at 95 miles ! Hardly seems worth it for just 5 miles !

I have done 100 miles before on a course with much more climbing. 6 of us rode for 80 miles as a group then I was solo last 20 when they dropped off but I ended at 5.50…… I’ve been ill recently for best part of 3 months so fitness is a bit off so I was guessing 6 1/2 hours.

I take the point ref faster riders having less to overtake, but surely in effect the fast riders at the front gradually getting slower leaves a big gap in the middle and theoretically the slower riders a the back means a gap in the middle lol

I put 6.5 hours. 8.38.

So the faster the rider the closer to the front. All the slowest at the back ? Don’t quite get the logic of that tbh?

I have an office furniture business. 3 projects cancelled or put on hold this week ….. Value to me around £70k so very frustrating / annoying. Caused totally by the companies concerned fearing or not knowing what the coming months will bring so hanging onto cash. Exactly the same story as last recession …… Recession starts here ?

I came to the conclusion that by the time I’d tried changing levers etc to try and improve to the point where I actually felt safe to be able to stop on the ting it just wasn’t worth the cost and hassle….. Tbh I bought the bike ( Giant Revolt ) on an impulse and there were other things I didn’t really like too…. Although it was comfortable to ride the brakes were appalling to the point of being dangerous so less ‘drama’ to get rid than deal with a consequence !

Thanks fellas …. I’m intrigued by the compression less cable suggestion…. The bike also has two sets of levers …. It has the extra ones on the bars in addition to the normal drops position…… So in reality there must be some ‘give’ in that setup…. Might have a look at disconnecting the second lever and trying a full single cable to see if any difference

I have an Anthem X 29 er…… I changed the Avid brakes to Shimano after a year…. I just could not stop them being spongy despite several bleeds .

I’ve ridden around 6000 miles on it and had to replace the rear suspension bearings but that’s not unreasonable for tHe mileage. The steering bearings I’ve had to change twice and are not easy to find. I have a set of Mavic wheels for Sunday best occasions.
