I have just bought a new Trek gravel bike …I was about to click Buy when I noticed I could get 3 years interest free ….. so I opted to pay a bigger deposit (25%) and kept my money in the bank taking the remainder over 3 years 0% …….

They supplied a 2016  spec frame to replace the 2012 one ….  they switched over all the components and everything fits fine

Is it definitely all public trails though ?  The Viking Challenge for example is 90 % public but some parts go through private sections not generally open.

I think ink you pays yer Monday and don’t be a dick to the people, marshals, officials etc that have done their bit for your mates to ride !

They are all in good condition.  Little use.   Less than 1000 clean easy miles

i don’t need a physical map as such……. something like a google map with a big red circle 25 miles radius is what I had in mind…… produce it online and then just print off?

I got a set but am selling them if anyone is interested. Rear unfitted, front used for one ride. My bike has extremely limited clearance so just not able to fit without rubbing

    In box….£25 …

As long as you have normal clearance they are actually really good mudguard

Update …. So I’ve removed tyres and refitted ,…. Made sure everything is tight …. Took it steady down same hill … Tentatively built up to 35 mph without the death wobble…. So fingers crossed ok ….. Will try again next week and see how it goes

yes … it was certainly scary ! The bike is normally rock solid….. and I went down the same hill a week earler … only change is the wheels…… I shall go back over the suggestions made and doublecheck everything through ….

    thanks for the input fellas

really?? they are 25mm tyres …. not huge ??
what size tyres did you have ?

    paulmgreen

Spokes seem OK…… Riding position no different to normal…. It’s a hill I ride down regularly

Might try isolating which wheel is causing by trying route again with old front wheel back in ….

It was just a slight tail wind …… The wobble was sudden and violent !

I’ve taken both wheels out and checked tyres are both on true ….. So if they were loose or not in line then hopefully cured in process. .

Hamilton did exactly what a true racer would do…. If anything he should have slowed up even more ! If he was allegedly going so slow how come vettel and verbs tapped didn’t actually pass !!

Over exaggeration storm in a tea cup …. World championship and race 1-2. Result !

The real issue is Hamilton being ungracious and Grumpy in defeat !

If I leave off the small section in front of the forks I can (just) stop it rubbing on wheel

I’d grown to hate top gear for the last 5 years or so… same ole same old tired ….

I was ready to dismiss it…. but watched the first half last night, and the second half this morning……. Superb.

As has been commented… shackles removed, huge budget, visually brilliant filmmaking, great sound and the trio have energy and look to actually be really enjoying what they are doing which wasn’t obvious at the end of Top Gear.

The opening sequence was brilliant work

Leaving the backlight on all the time is fine, but weekends I’ll often be out for 4 hour rides so I shouldn’t need to keep going into se things to turn off for daytime rides ….. All of a sudden it could easily just 3 rides and battery is flat in the event I forget to charge it

I find it hard to see why the software guys at Garmin have over looked this …..se thing the brightness is a single click but you have to navigate several menus to keep backlight on

The Garmin knows the time so it would surely be easy to programme it to stay on in the dark !?

    paulmgreen
    Free Member

That’s not actually how it works!

You can only adjust the brightness. You have to go all into the settings to adjust time or to stay on. As bob say above other option is to leave it on all the time is settings but then it zaps the battery in day time rides.

Garmin seem to have made a basic usability error
