I use the one below and the recipes from the same site. It lives quite happily for ages in the fridge or on the kitchen unit if I’m baking every week or so.

Thanks for the replies. I’m not too fussed about having tons of features. As long as it is well made and will last a good while, which is why the long warranty appeals.

Knog Frog with an extra loop before attaching (as per plyphon) worked fine for me.

X0 10 speed one in a 1×10 setup here and much prefer it to triggers for all the reasons given above. It’s got a much lighter action than the X0 9 speed version it replaced.

I use ESI chunky grips cut down and have never had an issue getting my (Hope) brakes in the right position.

The only issue I’ve got is getting the metal collar thing that fixes it to the bars to sit totally flush to the shifter body, so it rattles a little as a consequence.

As is this for when you fancy a go at a sourdough[/url]

I use a C&B Seen (1000lm) on the centre of the bars along with Knog Frogs flashing further out and a Joystick with a Beacon diffuser thing on my helmet. Also a red eye mini in the back of the Joystick and a flashing Cateye rear light on the frame. It seems a lot but I don’t want broken ribs again!

A couple of years ago I got knocked off by a car turning across the front of me and after speaking to the driver I realised that he was looking for something car-shaped which is why he didn’t see me, despite all the lights, so I use the Knogs to give me more a more recognisable or obvious ‘shape’.

Don’t forget about reflective stuff too – I use tape on my frame and the 3M things clipped on my spokes.

    Procrastinate until the baby arrives.

You’ll get at least 3 years where it won’t be mentioned once the baby’s there. That’s my plan for the loft conversion.

I’m somewhat out of my depth on this but chasing out the plaster and boxing over that with skirting seems the way to go. Not sure how to handle the one in the picture though.

I’ve tried saying that they won’t look that bad once the furniture is! She’s pregnant too so I need to pick my battles.

Reading some of these responses has made me realise how poor my DIY understanding is! I quite like the idea of running it up the corners and across in the loft or maybe chasing out behind the skirting. Whatever, it’s going to be a job for a professional.

I’ll run it by my other half but we may be interested in that too. In for a penny.

We have two or three binbags of the buggers. Please take them from us!

Molgrips – you’re Cardiff based I think. I may be interested in these.

    EDIT: crossed post – competition!

I’ve been quoted £1,200 for everything excluding the stove. It would be about £700-£800 if I opened up the fireplace myself.

There seems to be so much choice of actual stove to get and I have no idea what makes a good one or not. That one recommended by Bedmaker a few posts up seems like a decent option though.

Chop it up and then go for a wee or pick your nose.

Serious answer – cut it quite fine and sprinkle a little over some rice with a curry or chili so you get the flavour rather than just unpleasant heat. I wouldn’t just chuck it into a pot of something as it’ll just be mentally hot and they do taste really nice.

And remember to save the seeds and grow your own next year.

Headhunters, Silver Linings Playbook, Moonrise Kingdom and another recommendation for Untouchable.

Why? I enjoyed watching each one!

Knackered headset bearings caused something similar for me. If you can feel it click is it a worn cleat? I hate trying to trace clicks and creaks.

River Platini is in. I’ll probably lose interest before Christmas and finish in a relegation spot.

Love Craft is pretty damn good, Zoom! is one of my favourite opening tracks to any album. I think they only did one album after this so you’re not missing much.

The Welsh Language Commission will usually translate up to a few sentences for free. Not sure of the specific email address to send it to but give them a call. You don’t have to speak Welsh to talk to them either.

As I understand it, if you leave before your contracted notice period it is up to your employer to claim civil damages for a breach of contract. The tricky bit for them is to quantify what losses they have suffered as a result of you leaving early. I looked into it a little while ago as 3 months is really restrictive when looking to get a new job but I’d probably have been able to negotiate a shorter period.

X-King? I’ve settled on this as a front tyre with a Race King on the back. Both 2.2 but the X-King comes up a good bit narrower so maybe a 2.4 if you want more volume.

Lawless is worth a watch, Brick too but that’s a bit more than 5 years old. If you’re up for a foreign language film then Headhunters (Norwegian) is one of the best films I’ve seen in a while.

Must be the season for it – I had this little guy in the house yesterday

Fledgling Blue Tit. I put him back in the garden and he made his way to a tree right at the bottom (about 30m away) and spent the afternoon trying to climb up it to where I assume his nest is. He couldn’t make it and spent the evening and this morning in tree near the house being fed by the parents.

I don’t think there are any alternatives but CRC are doing them for £40. They were £25 when I bought one last year, wish I’d stocked up now.

How much space do you get in the solo tent – are small tables for food and spare bikes allowed in there? If not then that’s an improvement I’d like to see!

I’m 24 solo with no support crew so am pretty reliant on having my kit trackside. Any ideas what might be on offer?

I’ve recently used and would recommend performancecarparts on eBay for some Bosch aero blades as they were the cheapest by about £4 with delivery. They have a pretty comprehensive fitting guide on their items.

That area in the Vale of Glamorgan for a walk followed by lunch at the Plough and Harrow in Monknash was my first thought. You’d need to book for a large group on a Sunday though.
