I’ve had 3 different versions, the latest one is by far the best , get it set up right (tyre pressure and forks ) and you’ll love it.

Sunset cycles – I got my Orange four from them (locally not on online). They were great to deal with, have also sorted any problems I had with the bike very swiftly.

Out of interest, how easy it to change the piston ? Need to do mine, they don’t like the warm weather 😡

Answer is yes, try emailing Cy at Cotic, great to deal with, I’m sure they would sort something out for you.

I have a reverb on mine, been fitted from new (2 1/2 years) with absolutely no issues at all.

    @Kayak23

How did you install the tape ?
These enduro rims are fairly narrow too, so 25 mm tape should be fine ??

Bird tape it is then !

Thanks for all the replies too :)

Holes are completely covered, going to try a thin strip in the channel over the holes and then a thicker on over the top ,

Tried both ways, the profile of the rim is a bloody nightmare, and the holes are so close to the edge it makes it very difficult to cover them.

I bought an Orange 4 new in 2017 , thought I wouldn’t miss a bottle cage, how wrong was I ! Done my head in big time. Never again. Think Specialized have it spot on with their swat system too.

Just a quick heads up, Sunset cycles have some P7 frames on sale at very good prices ( just bought one)
I too have a Orange 4, but just love steel hardtails, and couldn’t resist at the prices they were selling them for.

    Johnw1984, I’m a short arse @5’6”
So a no go on the frame , but would of definitely be interested, have been speaking to Stanton today about a couple of options, so let’s see what happens.

Spoke to TF Tuned this morning (very helpful people)
And they think it could well be bleed issue, and have advised to try a couple more, fingers crossed then that all it is.

Thanks again for all the input.

Speed adjustment works, it’s almost like a bush has worn, but it was working fine before I swapped the remote, think it going to be a complete bleed and se what happens,
Just didn’t know if req another bleed would give these symptoms ?

I’ve used them 4 times, spot on every time.

It’s gone from being a bike I wasn’t happy at all with to a bike I can’t wait to take out !
And it’s all my fault for messing about with different bars and rise lengths.
Oh well we live and learn !

    Mate ,

I’ve got an Orange Four, and it drives me nuts not being able to fit a water bottle !
Didn’t think it would bother me , but I was very wrong.

They had a very good write up in mb uk this month.
Have been thinking about upgrading the Kore realm wheels in my Orange Four for a while, and these seem to be just what I’m after,
Just needed to hear from people who actually own and ride them.

    Cheers for the replies.

Think I just prefer steel hardtails, have had a few, including a Cotic soul(best bike I have ridden) going to probably move on the four and invest in the latest soul.

Hans Dampf front Ardent rear, on both.
Have had that set up on a few bikes and works for me and the riding I do.

So much so, probably doing cwmcarn on Sunday and probably won’t be taking the orange Four (which is what it is designed for) in favour of the Cotic !

buy a couple, and do a couple of half runs, then climb up the fire road to the top, really isn’t that bad, plus it gives you a chance to talk about how thing s are going.

I was there last week, spoke to a bloke from Essex who had knocked himself out hitting a fence post on one of the blue trails, his full face definitely saved him a lot of pain and misery, if you have a full face just take it, especially if you haven’t ridden there before,

elbow and knee pads too, if anything you will feel confident and able to commit to stuff, knowing you’re padded up!

There are a few bike shops in the centre of Cardiff that may be able to help you out ,

cyclepedia , sunset cycles, don skeene all very good shops and very helpful, also not to far from bpw (45 mins)

    hope this helps

Just riding through as if they don’t mean anything, I’m by no means slating cyclists as I’m one myself, and not am I defending cars !

Just amazed by what I see (spend 8 hrs a day in a vehicle with work)  and see some crazy risks being taken.

    I do actually,

just after some thoughts thats all !!!!

    Not hoping anything!

And I mean going through red lights when cars are stopped at the same lights waiting for them to change! Not jumping a light !

ive seen a pretty horrible video of a guy going straight through a red light and getting hit up in the air by some way , doesn’t make for good watching, I do a lot of mtbing which sometimes I have to cycle on the road sometime, and an amazed by what I sometimes see !

Cant fault Cwmcarn this time of year it’s really good, prefer it to bpw to be honest.

BPW will probably be mental busy too !

lots of trails around tongwynlais, but you need to know the area a bit to get the best out of it,

I’ve had a soul and bfe,
Bfe is a proper brute of a bike and the soul is a proper do it all bike, not as harsh ride .
I liked the bfe but loved the soul

    Cheers
