I also have Roval wheels that I run in niner forks and have the same issue. I just installed a washer on the disc side and all has been fine. Ridden the Dirty River twice and haven’t had any issues. I also carry a spare washer just in case.

Fairly certain the BB Shell width will be 68mm, the thing you need to work out is the axle length you need and as Tomaso says that is dependent on what cranks you are going to use.

I have used Neil at George Hall Cycles in Market Harborough for my last few builds – Has a good reputation locally, and if he can’t ge the parts you can usually buy them and have them delivered to him.

https://247cycleshop.com is the website, but give him a call

One thing I have found with my AW2 is that the battery life with the GPS depends on if you have your phone with you.

I believe that when the watch is connected to the phone, then for tacking it will use the GPS location/tracking from the phone, and only uses the internal GPS when the phone is either flat or not connected/nearby.

I often use the watch to log rides with the phone in my pocket, and the phone battery runs down much faster than the watch.

I used my 810 with an external battery for the Dirty Reiver. The main thing to watch out for (at least on the 810) is that the Garmin will power down when the external supply is removed (or goes flat), you get 15 odd seconds to cancel the power down, but would be annoying if you didn’t notice it.. I just ran on an external battery until the external battery light went red (last 25%) then unplugged and cancelled the power down.

Chances are you will go to arbitration and not straight to the small claims court itself, just make sure you have all you information documents picture’s etc.

Arbitration is also not done face to face, but by someone speaking to both parties in turn and then trying to agree a compromise that both parties are happy with.

I have raced for about 10 years locally and regionally, and top half of the field would be a good result for me, but after a few races you get to find the people who are about your ability and then it became as much about beating them as the overall result, I have had great fun racing for a place in the bottom half of the field, where I have been up against someone of similar fitness level and/or skill level, and the best thing is we still sprint for the line, and then have a great chat afterwards about the race etc

The XD – x12 end cap is slightly smaller diameter, if you install with the XD driver with the standard X12 end cap then it will bind slightly – Hope have different part numbers for them

If you are in Northampton then go and see Helen at http://www.northamptonscubaschool.co.uk. They taught my 10 year old to dive last year, and I was very happy how he was taught.

You will see lot’s of BSAC people say PADi is rubbish, and you will see it the other way round. The real truth is either program can teach you to dive properly, it is more about the person/school teaching you. I have dived for 20+ years al around the world and have seen good and bad divers trained by both organisations.

Diving is like Mountain Biking, the more you do it the better you get, and regular practice helps. The school i referenced above runs club nights in Northampton monthly where you can get in the water and keep your hand in. If you learn with them, who knows I may even see you there. I am also based in Northamptonshire so if you have any more questions feel free to drop me an email, address is in my profile.

I have an Alesis DM6 drum kit that my son used (or rather didn’t use) that I am looking to sell if you are interested. Bought it 2 years ago, and has been used maybe 10-20 times.

Can’t comment on how it compares to other kits as I haven’t seen used any others, but got good reviews at the time.

Let me know if you are interested (email in profile)

Try some Alum crystals, bought some at a country fair (expecting it to be rubbish) and it seems to work, just wet the crystal and rub it onto the stings.

Have had a few friends try it and it seems to work for them

I say give it time and we will be good at XC as well, just look at the youngsters coming through. Great ride yesterday by Isla, Alice Barnes 7th today in her first year as an under 23. Good rides by the Junior boy yesterday as well with young Mr Craig coming through to 25th place and being gridded 70th.

In xc at a world any level griding is important and it takes a year or two to work your way through to near enough the front of the grid to get a good result, that’s why it was the end of the season before the riders that rode U23 last year started making an impact nearer the front.

I race locally and regionally and the fields seem to be getting bigger, and at the fun level it seems to be a load of guys who stand around and chat for a while then we race for an hour, then all chat again. So just like a ride with your mates, but slightly quicker.

As for courses being more technical, yes they are but don’t confuse being able to ride something when pottering around with friends and being able to ride it when you have just been racing for an hour and are breathing through your backside, fatigue and speed make obstacles a whole lot harder.

I guess it will depend on whether you are short sighted or long sighted, I have just started using some of the Dual glasses (these are bi-focal glasses with a reading glasses type prescription in the bottom of the lens) and find them really good (I just need glasses for reading, but find I can now read all the digits on the Garmin and can read maps etc)

IF you get the Humax box, then yes you just disconnect the two cable from the dish and re-collect them to the feeesat box.

SRAM RIval cranks have a self extracting bolt, when you undo the bolt on the non-drive side it should pull the crank arm off with it, usually you undo it, it is easy to turn for a couple of turns, then get s tight as it pulls the crank off. Is the bolt coming out, in which case you have something missing from the non-driveside crank

You can run a Hope one – It’s the PF41 one that you need – This one You will need to order the Hope GXP adaptor as well if you have a GXP crank, as they are 22mm diameter on the non-drive side

I got mine from activesport – I needed them in a rush, so phoned them up. They built them within the hour and shipped them the same day – obviously it was all built from what they had in stock.

Have since ordered some different spiders from them and that arrived within a few days as well.

I love the fact that when I went 1 x 10 I just ordered a new spider, I have now gone 1 x 11 and again I could just order a new spider if I wanted to use SRAM chainrings.

    Check the b screw.

Top of the upper pulley to bottom of the largest sprocket should be 12mm-16mm. Once I set this, my shifting worked fine. Shortening the chain will change this…..

If you look around, people like Lezyne do some high volume track pumps http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/lezyne-alloy-dirt-floor-drive/rp-prod63810?
(as opposed to road specific ones which are high pressure). Makes it easier.

another vote hear for Humax with Raydon’s firmware.

You can then mount a NAS drive on your home network to the box, so no need to worry about how big the internal drive is.

With the modified firmware you can access the box remotely to set up recordings etc, stream and download content, ftp access plus quote a bot more.

Couple of other things you could check – Are all the chainring bolt’s clean and tight – loose bolts will creak, I have also cured a creak by lightly greasing the inside of the seat clamp.

Creaking is generally metal rubbing against metal, so it is worth cleaning up and greasing any area where there is metal to metal contact.

I am currently using a KCNC PG92 BB from Clee Cycles and it seems fine

One of them is a Moda Hardtail, the other a trek 9.9 Team issue. They are both 26″ wheeled frames, one is mine, one was my son’s – we have both gone to 29″ wheels now, and were cleaning these up to sell when we noticed the damage.

That’s why I was wondering what people’s views were on their resale value – if any

I have used Cafe Latex, Stans and the continental one. Found the Cafe Latex sealed up non UST tyres quicklyy, but bigger punctures weren’t sealed as well. Stans and the Continental one sometimes seem harder to get the tyre to seal, but once it has they stay up fine, and no issues with punctures.

You need the XTR matchmakers with the i-spec shifters. The XTR ones have a sliding slot. XT ones have the 3 holes in them See this web page http://www.hopetech.com/webtop/modules/_repository/documents/SHIMANOshiftermounts-Issue2a.pdf
